    Pros +

    • Not much
    • The hotel is in the beautiful town of Paternoster and is within walking distance of the beach. It offers a good breakfast and very nice pool areas (the main hotel area is great). Unfortunately, we stayed in the 'penthouse', which is detached from the hotel and has many downsides.
    • close to the beach, heated pools, jacuzzi

    Cons -

    • Over priced and bad value for money. At USD550 per night we were given a 'penthouse' apartment that was just above the hotel washing and laundry room with a view of a parking lot. If anything that 'suite' should be discounted. I will not stay here again and warn others against this over pricing as well
    • We stayed in the 2-bedroom penthouse while traveling with an infant. There were multiple issues with this:- The Penthouse is across the street from the hotel and sits above the staff storage area, so it is loud. It is also facing a small suprette that was loud late into the night. While the hotel itself seemed to be nice, I would not recommend the penthouse. Especially given the price, it is not good value for money. The day we left, all the garbage was left out in front of the room, so it smelled. All well and good, but not for a hotel with aspirations to be a luxury hotel.- The room was not super clean; the floor had clearly not been thoroughly scrubbed, leaving your feet black with dirt, again, below standard.- Service quality at the restaurant was very slow; it is fine to be relaxed, but the staff would disappear for stretches, and food ordering was slow.
    • Rooms on the pool lack a bit of privacy but not a huge deal

Beautifully renovated - staff so friendly and just lovely small touches that made it 5 star ++

Rooms on the pool lack a bit of privacy but not a huge deal

All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious! The amenities in the room were exactly what was needed. The room was spacious and the bathroom had a bath and shower but wasn't cramped. The pool added another element of holiday. The view from the restaurant was just mind-blowing. The ambience of the whole hotel was just incredible.Having a shuttle service to pick up / drop off at various restaurants.

Location. Best Oysters I have ever tasted. Friendly staff. Breakfast was tasty.

    7EllenPosted on: 4-1-2025

Dinner outside although limited menu and excellent breakfast the next morning

Because our room overlooked the pool, a guest's early morning diving and splashing woke us up from a deep sleep

    9KirkpatrickPosted on: 3-24-2025

Crayfish was good but not spectacular.

The ladder into and out of the main pool was narrow, not deep enough and wobly on its mountings. I would not be surprised if it leads to an accident !!!

Beautiful and the staff is friendly but professional. They were all concerned about our well being and ensuring that we enjoy our stay. They did everything in their power to respond to our needs, including the chef

    I can’t think of anything

The staff, the location and the breakfast.

We stayed in villa #1. The location is really great. I think that if you really want to use the villa as self-catering, there are a few things missing: roll of aluminum foil, a few boxes in which you can stock the food in the fridge, AC in the kitchen/ living room . I think there was a washing machine in the garage but it wasn’t unpacked yet. The bathrooms could use a facelift.

    All facilities amazing.

Breakfasts not great. Waitress don't tell you how the menu works. What your opitions are, etc Ladies not overly friendly as the rest of the staff.

Lovely boutique hotel, very comfortable rooms, excellent food and helpful friendly staff. The massage was first class. The Oyster Bar was the perfect place to watch the sunset.

    Nothing!

Very friendly staff - amazing food and great location, and amazing sunset perfect two night getaway. They even put the 6 Nations rugby on for us.

    Nothing to not like

Beautiful setting with great facilities and friendly staff.

Everything. We love the place and visit as often as we can.

The interference of Booking . Com in every aspect of a visit we have been doing for approximately 20 years. We try to book individually to avoid all these questions about a place have have visited for years.

A little paradise in Paternoster Beautiful boutique hotel with excellent staff & service. Glass of champagne on arrival, cleaning the room 2x a day, a little treat on the bed before sleeping, bottle of water on departure and so on. Amazing (fresh) food and they recently opened up the oyster lounge with stunning view over the ocean. Room was very cozy, nicely decorated, a lovely bed and airco. Would definitely recommend Abalone while visiting Paternoster. Thanks for all, we will definitely return ??
