Beautiful outside and central

It was run down, rooms were damp with a terrible smell, pillows dirty. Outside amazing, inside not good.

Location was great. Food was good

Magical hotel experience with a lot of history. Room was comfortable and the reception was very welcoming

Beautiful location, comfortable rooms, and friendly and helpful staff. The rooms lacked showers, however (bath only), making bathing slow (especially after muddy walks!) and washing long hair difficult, and the WiFi didn't reach the room. The cold breakfast options weren't great (we didn't try the cooked breakfast) and the evening meals were a bit hit-and-miss (the chicken livers and steak were good!). The bar had a decent selection.Be aware that the roads to the hotel, and to Hogsback more generally, are rough, with a lot of sharp-edged pot-holes! We got a flat en route and Hogsback has no garage for repairs.

The view was prefect

No wifi in rooms, people can't have their own space or time in the pool area to enjoy because of a white lady said people can't talk in the pool area or play music softly in day light I would understand if it was morning or night

Staff was friendly and helpful. Food and service was enjoyable. Location is excellent.

We woke up to clear signs of bedbugs...bites on our skin and tiny dark spots of blood(?) on the sheets. While the electric blankets seemed like a nice touch due to the extremely cold nighttime temperatures, I don't think they are laundered between guests, and even if they were--they are probably not washed and dried on high heat which is required to kill bedbugs. We've stayed here before and enjoy both the location and staff, but unfortunately will not return until the electric blankets are eliminated. Perhaps electric space heaters would be a more hygienic option to keep guests comfortable.

Wifi was poor

We informed them that we will be arriving late at the property and the staff were waiting for us to arrive. we were showed our room by a friendly front desk personel even after check-in time.

The lack of network access or connection in our room. We brought our network connection into our room, but still could not connect. the only place we could connect through was the bar area. When we enquired about that, we were to network connection waqs only provided to guests who booked suits. That was the only disappointing thing about the place.

We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The TV in our room wasn't connecting initially but it was attended to very soon after we reported it.

The standard room that we initially booked does not come with a shower, only a bath. This should be made clear in the description of the room. We were offered an upgrade to a suite which had a shower but at considerable extra cost. The suite was comfortable but in need of some maintenance.

It's a lovely country hotel, perfectly situated

The mattress on the bed was incredibly hard - a firm bed is lovely, but this was almost impossible to fall asleep on. Also, I faced the front, and the outside lights were so bright, I had to hang blankets across the windows to try get some sleep.

The old rustic charm was a bucket list item ticked

The roads in and out don’t make saloon car friendly travel but that’s not within the Inn’s gambit of control

The food was nice.

The room is absolutely outdated.There is no aircon. The bathroom has old taps that you have to struggle to open, there is MOULD on the ceiling. The towels are so tiny, you can barely wrap your whole body with it. There is no shower. The windows couldn't close properly as a result wind was freely flowing in AND DUST. The screen of the television in the room was blurry or sort of faded. Overall horrible horrible experience

They had electric blankets and the mercury was low, this made our stay comfortable.

The place was very dirty dust from the reception to the rooms and was made worst by the smoke from wood burned in fireplace. The owner should just sell the property the heart is not there. I am not sure how they managed to get 4* grading. The sad part is: The establishment has so much potential.
