Pros +
- It's different....
- We love the location, amazing staff and endless gardens.
- Beautiful location, friendly receptionist, quiet night.
Cons -
- The cottages can do with a bit of love, but overall we loved the property.
- The room was very dated. Hasn't had much of an upgrade, or maintenance for many years. Small things things like very old, scratchy and thin towels, a very faded and worn shower curtain, an ancient shower rose, swollen wooden doors that stuck and even the lack of a fan in the summer were a negative. Also having nowhere to sit in the room except the bed would get old fast if we stayed more than a night. We weren't impressed that for R 1000/night we couldn't be provided with a bar of soap in the shower but rather that you had to purchase a bath pack for R 50 from reception.
- Potholes and the dirt road was tricky

Walking distance to town, great view and all cutlery one need.
Beautiful, calm, serene and connected with nature
Potholes and the dirt road was tricky
Loved the tranquility and the vibe. The food is awesome with a fire. Will definitely be back.
Everything was awesome from a hotel POV. It was quite cold ~ 2ºC so just cozied up with a nice fire.
Excellent location, friendly staff and beautiful views??
The hut was nice and cosy for a couple. It had a fireplace and they provided enough fire wood. It was very clean and well equipped for self catering
The staff was super friendly and helpful. Accommodation was comfortable with heaters for the cold. And the location is just beautiful
The view was lovely and the place was clean. There was lots of wildlife to see there.
We battled to get the hot water going and this was a problem due to some family member doing the chill dip and then not being able to get into a hot shower afterwards. The table and bench set on the patio was not made for adults and as such there was no where to sit outside but the floor or uncomfortable logs. There were no comfortable chairs.
Lovely place with lovely people.Lovely view and trails right there.Best way to connect with nature, no TV's no distractions.
Bath with a great mountain view Excellent PizzaFriendly laid-back vibeRoom has cooking facilities Great view from the room Plethora of hiking trails starting from the lodge.
Not much. To be nit-picky, the door to our flatlet (Legolas) didn't have a curtain over the window, compromising privacy from the neighbouring room.
The environment and plantation gives a beautiful atmosphere. ?
An unexpected cold shower and lack of ? in the rooms.
There was an amazing atmosphere, friendly staff and magical views, a great place to reconnect with your wife or husband
Great views
Rooms not private , terrible smell from creosote on timbers
Great vibes, surrounded by nature in a great location. The trail to the big tree /waterfalls starts straight from the camp which is very convenient.
The room (Frodo's rest) had a dampness to it, which was a bit uncomfortable. The kitchen could have a bit more pans, pots etc.
The stay is lovely, the rooms are cozy, with the possibility to light your own fire to warm up in the evening! I did not expect the place to offer various food options as well, and it was delicious. The staff is lovely, very helpful and patient. There are several options to keep you busy around, between hiking and others and the cliff bath is a must-do!
The booking process is a bit confusing, I ended up re-booking directly via the stay’s website.
The ladies at the front desk and restaurant were extremely welcoming and friendly. They explained everything in detail and ensured we were informed of activities we could do as a family.
There’s no iron and you cannot bring it use your own. The water gets cold quickly. There are no electric blankets or hot water bottles. So if you go in winter be prepared.
The staff is really friendly and understanding. They give good walking instructions, are generous and very welcoming.
There was an odd odeur in the room. The fridge in the kitchen wasn't working and the kitchen was not clean at all. In the room is only a small bathtub and the water comes from the waterfalls so it's brown. This way you don't get a real clean feeling.
The location and staff were excellent at exceeded all our expectations.
The hot water system was inadequate and shared with the neighbors so ran out of hot water at times The shower drain was blocked and when the neighbors showered it bubbled up in our shower.
