Gooderson Monks Cowl Golf Resort

Food was outstanding.Facilities were perfect & safe for our Kids (6 & 9) rode bikes freely.Staff were super friendly and efficient.Rooms very spacious.

Our stay was short this time but enjoyable, we will return as loads to do and some great facilities at the resort.

Noticed a lot of water running down the road and when I enquired, I was told it happens when the drains are too full.

Kids area

No hike trails, had to drive out for a trail walk

breakfast not the best of continental. would like to see more variety in bakery section . bigger cups for teas and juices

supper cater for indians, curries, and too expensive for pensioners like us.the sewer smell when we got to the car park. the smell was too strong to bear

Lots of activities available especially for children. Staff were very welcoming. There's a restaurant on site. Chalet was clean, well maintained and comfortable.

Had to walk a short distance from the parking lot. Had it rained it would have been a problem.

All the Staff were super friendly. Shout out to Natisha specifically for her kindness and hospitality. The bedroom was very cosy.

Very Great

Inside the chalet was exceptionally clean. however the outside furniture does need cleaning attention and braai area. I was not successful also to connect to the wifi not because of network strength but I was not being led to the page that was explained and going back to the reception was out of my comfort. Perhaps guests could be assisted on the time of checking in

Resort is highly recommended for friendly staff, great location to area for variety of activities. Resort itself is very well kept and maintained.

Nothing to mention

Lavita Spa, Kholeka was amazing she knows what she is doing there. Did aromatherapy full body massage and applied gel on my toes

No connection to Netflix, I didn't like the buffet dinner I prefer to order

When we arrived, there was no waiting. The receptionist explained everyhing in detail, was warm & friendly. The manager Kyle was excellent, responsive and helpful. He answered the call quickly when we had a query. Our cottage overlooked the golf course and the views were stunning.

We had a wonderful stay here. The children enjoyed the pool with slides and the putt putt golf. The staff was super friendly and the cottage was cleaned perfectly every day. The restaurant is also definitely recommended.

The location.

The resort restaurant was not accommodating. They restricted us to only book their buffet menu which was not a great variety for hindu people as it was very limiting in options and at an expensive price per person with such a small menu. They only allowed us to order pizzas and this even then went into a lunch limitation on the easter sunday we were there. This was very frustrating for families with kids and the manager was not willing to extend the a la carte menu to us. We were not happy at all with the limited options for food at this resort. I highly suggest the resort puts this in the fine print in booking here as it should not say the restaurant onsite is available to accommodate all guests preferences.

I like the place and the kids' playing area. The food was delicious, and their pools were super clean.

The fact that you have to go to reception yourself to get iron and iron board.

Nice clean and spacious rooms. Friendly staff. Pool facilities was nice but lacks other activities compared to other Gooderson locations I have been to. Breakfast was very limited. Need more options for people that don’t eat pork and bacon.

Amazing. The receptionists were very friendly and kind and just made our stay amazing. The area is ver child oriented and very good for families. The car parking was a bit far in case of heavy rains that we experienced.

Beautiful, tranquil setting and clean. Lovely kids entertainment area, rock pool, slides, tennis, mini golf and more. Food was really good with a variety of vegetarian options. We enjoyed a buffet breakfast and dinner option. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again?

The staff were really helpful and they really go all out to meet one's needs. The restaurant staff (Nicholas and his team) went out of their way and brought us hot meals to our room in the rain because we arrived late. Place was neat and tidy.Accommodated us with a late check out late, even though we did not use it.

The staff could not make me a hot chocolate, as the manager was not available to release stock to them. Need to find a way to ensure stock is readily available whilst controlling stock. Balance needs to be found.Do not like the brown towels. No shower cap or sanitary bags offered. Hair dryer not in the room. Has to be obtained from reception.

We loved the location and also the beautiful scenery around the property. Very peaceful atmosphere. There are also lots of activities to do at the property including a lovely restaurant and a spa. So it basically has everything you need for a fun and relaxed holiday. We loved it and would definitely book again.

Really nothing.

The chalet was spacious and everything was clean and it was serviced during our stay. The beds seemed comfortable although I ended up sleeping in the lounge due to a snoring companion and found the sleeper couch to be quite comfortable as well. There are plenty of facilities - a rock pool as well as a normal pool by the restaurant, we played tennis before checking out and also Putt-Putt (R30pp) during our stay. There were slides in the pool (for children only much to my disappointment) and also a playground with trampolines. We ran out of gas the second night but a quick call to reception and the issue was very swiftly resolved so we were impressed with the staff & service!

Unfortunately there weren't any mountain views from the chalet but we did have a lookout onto the pond which was nice. The chalets are quite close together so you can hear your neighbours very clearly when outside if they are outside as well. The overall appearance of the property and grounds on arrival was a little disappointing in comparison to other resorts in the Drakensberg in terms of being well kept & attractive. I know it's standard but it is frustrating that the twin room is always the smallest when it's four adults rather than two adults and two kids as you would think having more room for two people sharing would make more sense.
