Staff were friendly ! Hats off for the Chef, food was excellent
Appreciate a wifi in the room , if possible
Location old world charm
No light outside Rondavel no 8Dark walking from restaurant at night
Disappointing
Huge problem with hot water, at times after 15 minutes of running the hot taps only luke warm
The food and restaurant staff were exceptional. They went out of their way to ensure that our dietary requirements were met.
The overall housekeeping was extremely poor. The rooms were extremely dusty to the point that my family and I left with terrible sinusitis. The grey blanket that was layed on the bed, the throw pillows on the bed and the pillows on the chairs were extremely dusty. There were visible cobwebs on the beams above the bed. There was a frog in the bin in the bathroom. The kids play area was dusty and covered in leaves. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned and maintained for weeks.
The view was amazing. The staff were friendly especially the staff in the dining area were excellent. It had a homie atmosphere.
Was just a little disappointed with the rooms but everything else made up for it. We unfortunately were not able to upgrade as the family rooms were booked.
Friendly staff. Mountain view rooms made all the difference from our previous visit. Comfortable beds, bath that fits two, homely food but sometimes it is hit and miss - awesome view!
The toilet leaked and although reported, was never fixed. Carpets need a good cleaning. Entire estate needs upgrade.
Very fun for Kids entrainment.
They First day did not like rondo rooms. They were kind enough for our next day to upgrade.
Beautiful location with lots to do. While the food was good it was not gourmet cuisine.
The bathroom and toilet are shabby and need attention. Afternoon teatime cakes were not very appetising
Plated dishes which was fine. Opportunity existed for additional helping if required. I felt that there could have had greater vegetarian options. My friends from another resort visited and they enjoyed the meals on sale.
Could have extended vegetarian optionsThe rondavels could be renovated. Separate bathroom and toilets at either ends was not most convenient. There were lots of spiders/mosquitoes which made for uncomfortable sleeping.
Food was great and well presented . Staff seemed happy and were always on hand to help. Room was clean and well proportion even if a little dated .Overall the facilities are what is expected at a Berg resort.
Nothing really - very good value for money
meals were interesting and delicious from soup to pudding. breakfast a wonderful spread . Lunch time at the bar my family raved about the burger. New Year we had dinner and dance which we enjoyed and New years day spoilt with spit braai for dinner which was delicious. In the room the bathroom cabinet needs attention .
This hotel exudes a charming, old-world ambiance. Its location is superb, with numerous trails and activities nearby, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the beauty of the surrounding mountains. The breakfast and dinner offerings were satisfying. The veranda is the perfect spot to unwind and relax, while the swimming pool is a wonderful amenity to enjoy. The owner, along with his wife, are incredibly warm and welcoming, making a point to personally greet each guest every morning at breakfast, adding a touching personal touch to the overallocated experience. They really try to accommodate children with several activities and spesial dinner options.
The food and menu - especially breakfast- can do with a bit of modernization. The rooms are in need of renovation and modernization. The mattress were not very comfortable and could be improved. A thorough refurbishment will bring the accommodation up to a more satisfactory standard.

WiFi connection is whack.
Staff were lovelyIt was clean
Food average at bestBeds were so hardRooms smelled stale
Every staff member is focused on guests and extremely well trained. The atmosphere is tranquil and scenery awesome! The food is delicious! The staff at the spa were excellent, and every treatment was amazing.
Adding a bar fridge to each unit will be a huge bonus.
