Pros +
- A very comfortable and spacious room in a beautiful historic building. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was comprehensive.
- Beautiful, old building with high-quality furnishings, fixtures and fittings.very friendly and efficient management and staff.
- Great location in the centre of town. Nice room with everything you need. Friendly helpful staff. Good value for money.
Cons -
- Nothing.Castres, like so many cities these days is not, in the first instance, welcoming to strangers in cars. Once on foot, the only dodging to be done is from bikes and e-scooters. The city traffic system is based on a giant roundabout with the city in the middle and (very) limited access and no parking. Be sure to drive slowly and that your sat-nav is good and up-to-date.
- Some of the lights in the room didn't work, may just need some new bulbs.
- It was hard to connect to the internet

lovely decor, big room, friendly staff
This little hotel is a lovely place to stay right bang in the middle of Castres, a lively, charming town with all the facilities you could want for a great break. The rooms we had were quiet, generous in size, immaculately clean, with comfortable beds and lots of hot water. Breakfast was a step above the 'continental' norm of bread and jam and a croissant, we had a choice of cereals, breads, meats, cheese, boiled eggs etc. Very good. The hotel has a small restaurant area serving simple evening meals of excellent quality but limited choice, the whole town is, after all, on the doorstep for the more adventurous diners.I must give a special thanks to the reception staff who were polite, cheerful and exceptionally helpful. WELL DONE!!!!

Great location and clean comfortable rooms, friendly staff and tasty breakfast

Great stay in character property with fantastic staff. Good restaurant and unbeatable location.
It was hard to connect to the internet
The hotel is full of history and character. It is in an ideal location, close to restaurants, bars and a good base from which to travel to other attractions. We had a lavish room. There is not a huge choice for breakfast but it is sufficient. Parking at 7 Euros a day is very close by.
So much too like it's hard to pick fault but perhaps, just a little thing, changing the coffee cups we had used each day and refilling the water would be nice.
Location, friendly staff
Room was not cleaned at all on one of the days. Another day it was cleaned but no towels or toiletries were left.
It was a great central location.Full of interesting items.. had real character
I was limited to eating only after 8.30pm in the restaurant due to only one member of staff being present but food was superb and great service
Lovely renaissance property with lovely original features and very friendly staff. Excellent location
We were there for a wedding it was perfect for getting the bus to the venue. Room was lovely.
Lovely property. Staff so helpful and friendly. Comfortable beds, lovely clean rooms. A lovely place to stay, close to all amenities.
Décor - location - value for money - room size
The shower was very poor. Soaps and hair products within the shower area did not dispense.
The staff were excellent. Excellent location very nice breakfast
The room had great character, but it could do with more lights. It was a bit dark
Very friendly staff and accommodating. Quiet location but central to the Castres. Room was large and clean and the bed comfortable
Our only gripe was the air-conditioning could have been better but to be fair we did have a very hot weekend in Castres
The room was a delightful surprise being large and unusually decorated. The bathroom was adequate, small but given the age of the building perfectly fine. Valet car parking was good with the car being returned promptly at the given checkout time. It was also handy for the local bars and restaurants and to sample the local culture.
The hotel isn't the easiest to find without an up to date Sat Nav and the hotel doesn't have any lifts although the reception staff did help with the luggage.
The rooms are big and charming
For a 4 star hotel the things in the room are like a budget hotel. 1 very small toilet roll. one soap and the soap in the shower had enough for half a shower. Two tea bags. 2 coffee pods. very stingy. not luxury at all. was asked to wait until 3 o clock to check in and at quarter to 3 the hotel is still locked up. And the coulpe in front of us their room was still not ready. Its like they have two members of staff to do everything.
Central and friendly staff
Did not always have someone available for the bar
Superb location, close to parking (you can park yourself easily in a nearby underground carpark). Very nicely furnished and equipped room, spacious. Although it was a Sunday night, when it is typically quite difficult to find an open restaurant in France, the receptionist-cum-entire staff on duty produced one of the most delicious and memorable meals of my three-week trip
The shower-in-bath was very mouldy, which is a real shame - easily fixed though.
