Pros +
- Breakfast was usual but we liked the service and ambience. Location was perfect for a country side stay, peaceful and very good weather. Highly recommended
- Great location off the main track and given the poor roads, was a pleasant surprise from the second the gate opened. Very personalized staff, rooms over looking endless landscaped gardens with Peacocks, Warthogs, Zebra's, Impalas, Eland's and list goes on. The Rothschild Giraffe's were a special treat and the horse ride among them was the Cherry on the cake! Supposed to have Leopards but never saw them...
- The grounds were lovely. There were zebras and gazelles grazing right outside our cottage.
Cons -
- Not much activities around
- Food could use some improvement and include a kids menu. An issue with all parks is the lead in roads are terrible, so certainly use a third party vehicle!
- The food was terrible, very few options and not considerate of people who don't like spices. For dinner there was only one protein option. The staff at the restaurant have the worst customer service I have ever seen, its like you're a bother to some of them. Very dissapointing.

Location Bed Food
V run down property Needs alot of maintenance
The food was good, lots of options at every meal. Staff was accommodating and helpful. And the grounds are stunning. Fireplaces everywhere are a very nice touch.
Some of the facilities are old and could do with updating, especially in the bathrooms. And I found the beds a bit small.
Amazing property with breathtaking views. The food was very high quality and fresh tasting. We highly enjoyed the guided nature walk; we saw so many giraffes.
We loved the setting. The rooms were comfortable.Having the fire lit made for a very cozy night The staff was amazing, very friendly, professional, cared about us being comfortable and happy. We had a wonderful stay We met the new manager, Dries, and enjoyed our conversation with him.Just an amazing stay.We hated to leave!!
It is a beautiful and peaceful location mixed in with nature. The staff was very friendly. The cabins were very spacious.
The facilities are a little dated and could use a refresh. There were small patches of mold on the ceiling, mildew in the shower and the curtains were very old.
Beautiful animal additions onto the grounds. Gazelles , Zebras, Guinea Fowls.Meals were excellent.?Staff truly Kenyan hospitality. The General Manager was onsite and interacted with guests.?
Fix the PIN on on Google Maps when approaching the lodge from Kiganjo/Chaka side
Beautiful location, with an abundance of wildlife. The fire place in our room, which the hotel staff can light for you at night, was so charming. The buffets were very good and varied. We also appreciated the great housekeeping. They offered nice safari drives, massages, and kids enjoyed the swimming pool. Rooms had coffee/tea stations, and umbrellas which came in handy when the weather turned. We stayed over a holiday period and there were some very sweet efforts to make this time special, like fruit baskets and treats in the rooms at night. Overall we had a very nice stay.
Some staff were kind, welcoming, and very good at their jobs, like housekeeping and some of the restaurant buffet staff, but others were surprisingly aloof. Front desk check-in staff have the opportunity to make guests feel welcome, as a start. And while the bar ambiance was very nice, the staff could use both customer service and skills training to both attend to customers and make proper cocktails. They generally seemed unsure about mixed-drink requests and very worried about quantities. Given so many staff had similar demeanors with guests, I could only imagine this speaks to a need for customer service training and perhaps better workplace morale among staff more broadly. And finally, on staffing, we noticed what appeared to be two manager-type staff, often present in the dining area and main grounds, who were not engaging with the broader staff nor the customers, which seemed quite odd. There were plenty of lost opportunities for them to jump in, support their staff, and tighten the ship.Communications was a challenge in a few instances. For example, we reached out a number of times before our trip and never received a response to our inquiries. Once there, we found some information on activities to be misleading. For example, the sundowner description on the website notes “cocktails” and “Dawas,” while the in-room sundowner pricing notes two drinks per person. But in reality a sundowner package inclusion is for non-alcoholic drinks only (dawas/cocktails are an extra cost). Horseback riding safaris are not available around holiday seasons, which was very disappointing to find out only once we were on-site, despite inquiring about the activity at least three times prior to travel.
Facilities, room, food, environment
The staff had classist & racist udertones
Location, staff and food
Il posto meraviglioso
They said to refer to their activities price list but when choosing the activities they doubled the price, saying it was outdated.
It was clean, the food options were delicious, Great value for money. The staff were very friendly and welcoming
The pool was cold..we didnt get to swim
The staff, food and facilities
The facility is well maintained, and the rooms and the food are quite good.
I wish there were more activities within the facility.
Location is excellent. The buildings are dated but beautiful with lots of countryside charm.
The food was bare basics with little selection. It was badly cooked.
Beautiful resort with animals everywhere. Food was great and the staff kind and funny. Can really recommend the horseback riding safari, extraordinary experience
You have to pay for most things you want to do, however, prices are reasonable
Location and ambiance, friendly staff and great food. Wonderful to wake up in the heart of Nature surrounded by wildlife.
Outdated accommodation in need of upgrading and attention. At the time of booking we were not made aware of the extra charges of park entry fees. Check out time could be later and breakfast extended for those who are staying to experience the space.
Everything was excellent about the resort. The location, hospitality, food, and facilities all good. The animals at the resort made the stay all.the more exciting.
All was good, just the pool was not temperature controlled as mentioned on the site.
