Location and historic value as well as uniqueness.
The staff was warm, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was so plentiful we never needed lunch. And the location is quiet but yet right next to the university.
perfect location, great views, nice vibe and good breakfast

Everything. Spacious comfortable room. Close to sites. Meals were delicious. 6 o’clock wine hour. Staff. A top spot on our Portugal trip.
Loved everything.
I had a lovely light, sunny room with a beautiful view overlooking the river. Very friendly staff and good restaurant, perfect for my one night stay.
Street parking
Everything - from the Young lady who actually tracked us down 2 blocks from the Hotel because we missed the turn and were lost and could not have been nicer and more professional to the professional staff to our superb dinner to the wonderful breakfast and excellent location! I will highly recommend the hotel to all!
The facilities and staff and food were outstanding and the location to the Joanine Bibliotecque was perfect! Getting to the hotel was quite "exhilerating"!! - which I don't really need with a rental car!! LOL!!! I know this is absolutely out of your control and your staff recognize the difficulty navigating the extremely narrow streets (walkways???) and issue a a very effective alternative route for exiting the University Campus!! I live in Caminha and our streets are major highways compared to what you are dealing with!!! ( I hope you are laughing). You have a wonderful hotel!!
The location is great.
It was over priced, Restaurant and hotel.
Good location and quite
We were schedule for 9:30 am breakfast but they ran out of pretty much everything by 9. When we asked if we could have more eggs & pancakes, we were told no. Very bad management.
The hotel is beautiful and the room was wonderful. The decorations are a bit funky and fun and well done. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was great with a nice buffet with some eggs, yogurt, breads, fruit and any coffee you want. There is a great outdoor courtyard area where you can sit and have a drink and relax. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Location is very tricky if you are driving but the hotel is helpful for parking and directions. The drain in my bathroom was broken, but very minor issue. The hardest part for me was that I was there during the student Freshers week in early October. There was an outdoor concert across the river every night from about 11pm to 2am and it sounded like it was right on our street. Almost impossible to sleep. The hotel is also near the student bars so there were throngs of students in the streets all night.
Lovely setting and location. Beautiful views from the rooftop deck. Staff was very helpful.
We would have asked to move if we were there for more than two nights. We were on the bottom floor and a family with children were above us. Very loud and noisy with people walking and crying. We did tell the staff, but since we were there only 2 nights, we just didn't want to move to another room.
We loved our stay here. The location is perfect! Just steps away from the famous library, museums, historical city center and great restaurants that the hotel recommended. The rooms are very spacious, beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was very good!We thought the price was amazing for what we got! I would highly recommend this hotel!
Staff, decor, location, food all excellent.
One of the criteria I used to select the hotel was that it had an elevator. Unfortunately we were assigned a room on the bottom floor that the elevator does not service. There were two flights is stairs down to the room then the bedroom was in a loft off the living room. We were allocated a more suitable room on the second night. Take note if any of your party has mobility issues.
Spacious rooms. Very clean and comfortable. All the staff was very helpful. Great restaurant & roof top sitting on site.
This hotel provided a wonderful oasis to both relax and easily access Coimbra’s Old Town and the University. Relaxing in the garden and enjoying the vista views of the river valley from the rooftop deck were real treats. The bedding was superb. We woke up refreshed each morning.
Google maps had us use the backbreak stairs to reach the property.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful and in the best location you could find to visit all the attractions! The staff went above and beyond! We ate breakfast and a dinner at the hotel and the food was delicious!
There was nothing I did not like. I would point out though if you are driving an automobile it may be difficult to get to this hotel. In parking is unique.
The front desk staff was exceptionally kind, caring and courteous. The server at the restaurant during dinner was very attentive. The staff during breakfast were very attentive as well. The staff are truly exemplary.
The only issue I had with the stay was the noise from the room above during the first night. The insulation in the ceilings and floors are not ideal to prevent noise.
Nice, spacious rooms with extra high ceilings have plenty of room for our family of 4. Lovely welcome details like fresh squeezed juice and natas, as well as detailed maps and restaurants lists were nice touches.
The location was ideal - right in the heart of where the action is in Coimbra. Walking distance to everything. The staff in the restaurant is excellent. A big shout out to Joel.
It was pretty much perfect.
