    Pros +

    • Clean facilities, roomy and comfortable accommodations, good location.
    • Nice hotel located within walking distance of the port & older areas of the city Excellent spacious room with good facilitiesBreakfast includes good food optionsEasier to walk back up to the hotel if you use the elevator near the big round space-age building!
    • The location is great which is so close to Vigo Urzaiz, the train and bus station! The mall above train station has all the shopping and restaurant choices. The room is little compact but enough for two people with two small suitcase. The breakfast is typical Spanish cusines with enough selections for everyone. Bedding is nice and comfortble for my liking. Staffs are pleasant and courtesy!

    Cons -

    • Had to wait too long to be checked-in. Once the process began, it was fine.
    • As a four star hotel, it is missing electric kettle in the room which is necessory for Galicia winter rainy weather! The coffee and tea in the lobby were not free which will cost you one and half euros to purchase. It is not friendly to the hotel guests and hotel image. My in laws are both sick under the weather and a nice and warm beverage will be appreaciated in the room. We end up going to the mall acrossed the street to get hot beverage instead.
    • Would prefer daily bottles of water and a water kettle inside the room.

Everything, the bed, the city, the lights, the eggs in the buffet

    10ChristinePosted on: 11-23-2025

An upgraded room was suggested at checkin for a small fee. What a great deal! The view was well worth the price

This is a wonderful hotel that is very close to the train and across the street from a shopping mall that has everything you could ever need - with lots of food options, tons of entertainment including an arcade and a theater. Walking to the water and historic zone is doable but also an inexpensive taxi ride. The view from the room was spectacular and I always love a mini-fridge. Showers and beds were great. There is a cute little bar downstairs.

Helpful staff and very well located. It’s just across the street from a large shopping mall and the bus station. Since the bus station it’s located in the ground level you can go through the mall or there’s an elevator very close that can take you down to that level. We were offered to upgrade our room to a king size bed and view to the water for extra 15€, boy am I glad we accepted, views are amazing. Rooms are very spacious and bed is comfortable. We also added breakfast, plenty of food options and beverages

Great location and the Reception was very nice and helpful.

Would prefer daily bottles of water and a water kettle inside the room.

Beautiful place. Very clean and modern. Wonderful breakfast. Big bonus was the receptionist gave us the best instructions to get on the Camino trail. Super easy from this hotel. Just turn right out of the hotel and walk a few blocks. On the left you will find a wonderful walking path that takes you directly to the Camino. No walking up and down hills in Vigo amid traffic and stoplights. Fabulous!

    Nothing. It was great

    I think was ok

Breakfast was poor. Avoid eggs, mushrooms and bacon

Spacious room, well located, great breakfast, friendly staff

    Nothing to comment

Modern, comfortable, and wonderful breakfast included. The hotel was very close to an upper exercise path that we took out of Vigo on the Camino Portugués. Excellent location. We also loved the mall across the street, as we needed a few more items for the Camino.

Very nice spacious room with bed, two chairs and a small table. Hotel has a lift. Very clean and quiet. Easy to get to from the Camino. Getting the wifi set up on Apple devices is a bit of a mission but once on line the connection and speed are excellent. This is a quality place.

A bit too far from the downtown pedestrian area. About 20 minutes walk. Breakfast was not included for my booking and quite expensive at €16. (But it was a good spread.)

    10TanyaPosted on: 6-24-2025

Location and quality accommodations. The staff were so helpful and friendly, I wish we could have stayed longer. The view of the water and recreation area was spectacular. It was nice to stay in a proper hotel after a week on the Camino.

The location was great for what we needed, but it wasn't good for any tourist stuff.

The breakfast wasn't a good value for what we paid. At least they had one on premise

The property was very bright and enabled you to have a wonderful view. It was clean and modern and comfortable.

After upgrading to a room with a view at check-in, we were given a room in which the refrigerator did not work at all. It was very disappointing as we had a need for one.

We love Occidental Vigo!Husband and wife riding the Camino Portuguese by bicycle. This ended up being one of our favorite hotels. We chose Occidental Vigo due to its location as it is close to the bike path. Our stay was even better than imagined. We had a top floor facing the water affording a fantastic view across the bay. The room was very clean and modern with a great shower, washroom with bidet. The beds were amazing and we had a solid nights sleep. We also appreciated the in-room mini fridge. We took advantage of the large shopping mall across the street and had lunch and dinner in one of the numerous restaurants inside. There is also a huge grocery store in the mall. The check in was quick and efficient. We were able to store our bicycles in the underground parking complex in a dedicated bike locker with a bike rack. We were politely shown the location by a staff member.Checkout was equally fast and simple. We recommend Occidental Vigo and would definitely stay here again.

We did NOT like the fact that they charge a fee for bike storage. We did NOT like the fact that they charge for coffee at the coffee station in the lobby..... really? As a paying client, we would have enjoyed a free cup of coffee.

The location was located right across the street from the high speed train station, mall and green way trail. It was clean and comfortable.

The view we had was of a metal roof and the backs of other buildings / in other words - no view. We were very tired and wanted to order room service, but they didn’t offer it until 8pm. I know they eat late in Spain, but most hotels that offer room service offer it all day and late into the night.

I needed a hotel near the bus station for an early bus and this location was perfect. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Nice shower. Helpful staff. Decent price

    Nothing to dislike
