Featuring a private on-site beach and lush, palm-filled gardens, the Grand Hotel Royal is located on a cliff top in central Sorrento. It has an outdoor pool and panoramic views of the Gulf of Naples and Vesuvius. The rooms offer views of the sea, the gardens, or the town. Classically decorated with Sorrentine wooden furniture, each room has free WiFi and most include a marble bathroom and a balcony. In high season, guests enjoy free access to the beach, and free use of parasols, sun beds and beach towels. Inside, the lounges feature antique furniture, marbled staircases and crystal chandeliers. Grand Hotel Royal offers a complete gastronomic experience. It includes different on-site restaurants and bars serving regional and classic Italian cuisine. Several have panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Circumvesuviana Railway Station, which connects Sorrento with Naples, 31 mi away. Pompeii and the Vesuvius National Park are a 40-minute drive away.

- I don?t think it lives up to a 5 star hotel. Breakfast was not very good. Staff is friendly. Hotel location is about 15min walk to the pier
- This is a beautiful hotel, clean, luxurious, excellent location. The pool and beach are perfect! Do not miss it!
- We had a beautiful seaview room on the 5th floor and it was definitely worth the extra cost! You can't find a better view than at this hotel. Best location (2 minute walk to town) and top notch facilities.
Cons -
- Check in wasn?t until 3. Staff kept leading us on and saying that we could maybe check in early if the room was ready. Would?ve been easier if they just said 3pm. We ended up waiting 3 hours in the lobby. No attempt was made to help store our backpacks
