    Pros +

    • Great location, super close to National Park, nice view from our balcony, easy access from the ferry.
    • Nice hotelNext to a riverGood food
    • The views from the room and balcony are great. The breakfast was very tasty. For dinner they have fish, meat and vegetarian options. The swimming pool is small, but while we were there it was never crowded. The person in charge of the hotel that weekend was very friendly.

    Cons -

    • Bed and pillows not comfortable at all, food was good but nothing extra - dinner could be better, the inside pool was super cold & floors super slippery, would definitely not choose this hotel for the pool&sauna especially if you are going with kids. Staff was not really speaking English but was friendly.
    • Staffs were a bit rude!
    • It would be great if some small desserts would be available for dinner (e.g. yogurt or fruits)

Our room faced the river and the ferry, so we spent ages on the balcony with cups of coffee, just watching life on the river. The hotel is right at the entrance to the national park, lots of hike routes start here and we were able to make the most of the balmy autumn weather and stunning woods. Breakfast and dinner were plentiful and delicious. We will be back, as there's still lots to see and lots to do in this area.

The pool water was very cold, so we only tried it once. I'm normally ok with colder water, but not only was the pool very, very small, the water was really chilly.

We were moved to a sister hotel the Steiger Elbschloesschen 200m away, due renovations pulled forward. Good comms about change and we ended up with an upgrade hotel.

Excellent location, nice sound proof room with a large shower and magnifying mirror (important for mature customers), tasty breakfast and dinner, friendly personal

There were few spots on a sheer curtain right at the eye level.. unpleasant to see

Great location, friendly staff, clean hotel, very well maintained wellness area

The external balcony light could not be switched off and was irritatating in the night

The rooms are modern and well kept. The Spa and amenities are also in good shape and pleasant to use. Overall the place is very clean. Location is great - Hikes like the Bastei Bridge Hike can be started directly from the hotel - no car needed.

The stay includes breakfast and dinner. However, the food selection is subpar. Dinner is advertised as a 2 course meal, however in reality it is a buffet with a very limited selection. And quite frankly the food is neither good nor fresh. Same for the breakfast. Bread is stale and the food overall is not fresh. Reg. service: All services are online only (also the check in) - there is no staff available for questions etc. Overall not a big deal, however subpar for the paid price.

Lovely hotel, great spa, amazing views and wonderful scenery. Loved our stay!

the staff were AMAZING. so accommodating. We initially booked a non-AC room because we didn’t know the hotel had AC available. We were sweltering. So we asked for any fan or anything and they actually upgraded us at minimal cost and we moved to an AC room. The staff stayed after their shift to assist us with this. Really above and beyond. They were friendly too

The first room was insanely hot but we didn’t want to open the windows because the mosquitos were quite bad. That bed as comfy but when we changed rooms to an AC room the bed was very hard and with bad backs it wasn’t the most comfortable sleep

The food was great. The location close to Malerweg. Sauna in the gotel.

    No slippers for the sauna

    10Roman_jPosted on: 2-2-2024

The room, the view, the breakfast and dinner - all have been amazing. The sauna and pool are small but very well maintained and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. And of course the location is just fantastic.

    There's nothing we didn't like.

    - Great location- Good food- Friendly staff

    - Heating in the room was so weak

Hotel in a great location overlooking the Elbe river and rocks, accessible only by ferry. Room superbly furnished and comfortable, with welcome wine and online check-in. You have to book online also a seat at the breakfast/dinner table, but all works fine. Spacious wellness area, bathrobes and towels available in the room. Beginning of the hiking trails. Great for active relax. Mostly Czech staff.

The balcony was illuminated long into the night, it automatically turned off (I couldn't find the switch) so you don't have an unobstructed view of the night and the starry sky, pity.

    9PeterPosted on: 10-28-2023

The room was very nice and clean. The shower was large and there was a lot of space to place your stuff in the bathroom - not very frequent these days. The ferry is free for hotel guest as well as the parking on the other bank of the Elbe river.

The mattresses very already quite used, so the sleep comfort wasn’t the best. The food for the dinner could be much better - we decided to eat elsewhere after the first night.

    7HolgerPosted on: 10-8-2023

Very modern and efficient hotel with kind and helpful staff. Lovely Spa area and really nice roomsKind Compensation from the owners for not working WiFi.

Slightly understaffed. Most of them didn't seem to speak German or English - communication difficultRooms were not cleaned until after stay.WiFi did not work.

    10JanetPosted on: 9-22-2023

We came to relax and enjoy the Saxon Swiss National Park and our stay in the hotel made this possible. The staff put themselves out for us, the food was interesting, permitting us to wander around the National Park at our leisure.

    8AndersPosted on: 9-5-2023

Large and comfortable room with an exquisite view. Completely digitalized hotel with self check-in, except for restaurant staff, no humans visible, but everything worked without a glitsch.

Dinner included on half- board I could have done without; a mediocre buffet. Also breakfast no more than OK. Real check-in was one hour later than stated in the Booking confirmation.

    10MariiaPosted on: 8-29-2023

Kurort Rathen and this hotel is a very nice place to relax and unwind. Cars can't drive into the village so it's very quiet around and you can enjoy the view from the balcony and listen to the sound of the Elbe water. The hotel has a very good wellness center with a small pool and various types of saunas. And it is a paradise for those who love hiking.
