Pros +
- We drove from Naples to Benevento; the hotel had on-sight parking and was in a great location for walking to parks, historical places, shopping, restaurants. It's a beautiful facility; the staff were so nice and helpful; the room was spacious.
- Location was perfect
- Hotel Villa Traiano was a delightful landing spot after a long journey to Italy. The hotel is very charming and comfortable. It offers all the amenities while maintaining that tasteful Italian style. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts each day and were delighted with our days exploring Benevento, a town that is unknown to a lot of tourists but has a fascinating history and so much to see. The hotel was in the perfect location, for us to come and go on foot as needed. We enjoyed our stay here, and would recommend Hotel Villa Traiano to anyone going to the sweet town of Benevento.
Cons -
- The tub was a high-profile one with only a partial glass screen. Unfortunately, we each splashed water all over the floor the first time we used the tub/shower. We would have preferred a more fully enclosed shower area. But the bathroom was large, with double sinks.
- The room was very small, they could do a better job with their breakfast.
- No complaints at all!

Great breakfast, perfect location, friendly staff, English speaking
Conveniently located.
Maybe it was off-season, but I was disappointed in the breakfast, and the fitness center and spa area were closed. On the night we arrived, there was no hot water. We told the desk, and they immediately took care of it. It was the boiler or something. That should have been ready before we checked in.
great location, clean room and very nice rooftop bar with a view
1) The beds (mattresses) were very old, lumpy, and very uncomfortable. 2) the shower was very small - a semi overwieght person would have a hard time getting in/out and showering3) Wifi was very spotty (signal constantly going off)4) we ordered a room service meal (for 2 separte rooms, 3 people) - they only had a ham and cheese sandwich which ended up being one slice of thin ham and one slice of thin cheese on based white toast (cold). They didn't provide the price or supply a receipt (like any normal hotel) and then learned at checkout that the total cost was Euro 50 - (Euro 10 per sandwich + Euro 10 per room for room service delivery, although we had two rooms next to each other.5) Checkout employee was polite but was not empowered by management to solve the sandwich issue
The hotel has a great potential in terms of infrastructure and location. Staff friendly and accommodating. Clean and well equipped rooms.
Needs refreshing: Bathroom faucets are rusted; water in the shower took 4 minutes to start to get warm; Fridge in the room noisy; cover plate missing on electrical socket; insonorisation awful; garage convenient but very small and hard to manoeuvre within.Breakfast: minimal standard. On 25/04 (national holiday), ricotta had gone bad, bread had also gone bad; cakes were likely a couple of days old; jam distributors were left covered with plastic film; no fresh juice.
The Traiano is barely half a block from the city’s most renowned landmark from antiquity, the Arch of Trajan (after whom the hotel itself is named). The connection to the hotel annex is a bit complicated but ingenious, and the room was quite comfortable.
It would have been nice if the breakfast staff had kept the buffet table re-supplied with the food offerings that early-riser guests had enjoyed.
A nice welcome and shown to a room that seemed ideal. But......
.... the hotel was hosting a 40th Birthday Party. We were not told about this, or the proximity of the party venue to our room when checking in. We had a long journey and went to bed fairly early, but then were disturbed by music from the party: so loud that you could almost feel the room vibrating. We hoped that things would quieten down, but at 23:30 I got up, dressed, and complained to the duty receptionist. I was told that the music would finish at midnight, and bizarrely were offered a room change. Who wants to pack up their suitcases, move and unpack again at that time of night? A complaint to the manager next day elicited the same solution. Quite insensitive. They knew we would be affected by the noise but still put us in that room. The music did not stop until well after midnight, and, if anything, got louder. We hardly slept, and both felt unwell the next day. A very unpleasant last night of our holiday.
Always a comfortable stay...Liffeys Irish bar round the corner - what's not to like...
Breakfast is basic with no hot options
closeness to the town centre. Ability to park on site and bring our small dog.
Breakfast was limited. No complementary water in room - only charged mini bar.
It is a well-restored building, designed in an efficient but welcoming way. The staff are extremely pleasant and accommodating, making my short stay very comfortable. The facilities are well-equipped for a longer stay.
Nothing was wrong for my short stay.
The location of the hotel is excellent, which was the main reason for my choice. I really appreciated the very clean and soft towels, as well as the excellent selection of soaps and lotions. However, the room was older than I expected. The door was difficult to close properly and had to be slammed shut.
The shower area showed signs of age, with noticeable cracks on the ceiling. Additionally, the desk was not practical for use, as it was occupied by the TV. Overall, the experience did not meet my expectations. I was disappointed by the lack of attention to detail. Even the bidet tap was wobbly.
Proximity to the town centre. Secure parking off street. Large clean room and pleasant reception staff
The breakfast veranda was chilly to sit in and devoid of choice towards the end of breakfast service time.
Super big room, almost as big as the bathroom :)Very, very calm. The hotel is very fancy, retro style, a lot of marble, but is very pleasant. Outside the walls of the town, but very close to main avenue and touristic areas. The garage it's a plus.
The room it's a bit worn out; paper wass is detaching is some parts. Given that my room was in the backyard building it is a bit odd to get there , changing 2 lifts (one down, the other up) and crossing the yard, but this might be its charm:)
One usually rates a property on the basis of quality of room, service, price etc. But we had quite the emergency with my wife breaking her foot on the first evening! The staff were absolutely brilliant in organising a doctor to come and examine her in the room, and then really helpful throughout the week with her incapacity. To me that is the hallmark of a great hotel - NOT how they are when things are going well, but how they respond when you have a disaster. They were all brilliant - from the manager downwards - really friendly, helpful and understanding. I cannot thank them enough for making our stay as comfortable as it could be despite the circumstances. And I have used this hotel in the past, when everything has been fine, and it is a great hotel to stay at for either holiday or business.A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL from my wife and myself.
Very comfortable beds and location was great
Very Small shower that I can barely fit in . We paid an extra 18eu/each for breakfast to find out that Eggs were not included, But for an Extra 7eu./each we could have them. So included breakfast beware. On one of our days stay it was raining so breakfast room had towels and buckets on the ground because of leaking roof. Other than that great place.
Very helpful staff, spotlessly clean, huge room, central location minute walk to restaurants
Very spacious room, nice and quiet Friendly staff
the shower could be larger was a bit too small and also the vanity to put stuff on the counter was very small
Nice villa hotel. great room with a huge soaker tub. Can walk to what's worth seeing.
