The breakfast (at the nearby restaurant which owns the hotel) was good. The seemingly endless stairs to our bedroom were a challenge for my wife who walks with a stick. The bedroom is small and the bed occupies every square centimetre, so opening the window involved some creative gymnastics. Parking is a problem which we solved by parking near the Grote Kerk, about 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel. Overall, however, we enjoyed our stay.

They give you welcome drinks at the restaurant they own, the room has everything you need, very clean, huge shower.

The lights in the room are very dim, even during the day it’s very hard to see.

The location of this hotel is lovely. Right in the old town, on the harbour, very quaint. Saturday market is just on the next street over, so very handy. Beds were very comfortable. Blinds/curtains darkened the room very well. Very nice check-in person (once you found her).

We arrived and there was some difficulty finding the place to check in. It is in a restaurant, on the other side of the bridge and down the street a ways. The map at the door is not particularly accurate. I would think that a restaurant called (in English) "The Copper Fish" would maybe have a hanging sign or something with a copper fish on it (nope). It wasn't just me, we saw others struggling as well. There is also no sign at the restaurant that this is the check-in place. Parking is a severe issue. Almost no spaces available at all, and I wouldn't even want to try it on a Saturday when the market is on. Had booked a room with two beds as we are two women friends, not partners. As per usual the two beds are pushed together to make a king-sized bed. If someone books for a two bed room, can the beds not already be separated for the coming guests? It would be nice. No where to hang your coat in the room. While there is a separate toilet with a door, the sink, vanity and shower are all in the room with you. Only a partial wall separating the shower from the room. And that can be viewed if you accidentally look in the mirror. Perhaps a curtain(?) for those of us that don't want to share "everything" with our travelling partners. We also had trouble with the key cards. Booked for two nights (Fri & Sat). Stayed Fri night, went out Sat morning. Came back. Key didn't work. Over the bridge & down the street to the restaurant. Got it reactivated. Sat a.m. went to the Hotel's own restaurant for breakfast. Came back at 10:30am (our things were still in the room). Key didn't work. Over the bridge & down the street & back to the restaurant. Got it reactivated. Not impossible but a bit of a pain in the butt. Mostly because there is no reception desk at the hotel itself.

Breakfast was phenomenal at the local bar/restaurant linked to the hotel. Faultless - excellent quality and value for money (we went for the sharing platter breakfast with copious amounts of everything!) at about 20 euros each and a wonderful view of the harbour. A really great breakfast experience!Room was nice - really clean, comfortable beds and modern bathroom. Lovely location overlooking a quaint bridge with views of the harbour, town and historic clocktower.

CHECK-IN complicated - communication about system to follow not successful for us! I had not translated the message sent - in Dutch only - explaining the system of checking in at the sister bar/restaurant over the bridge - arrows explaining the route to get to this on the hotel frontage were unclear. Walked all around the block before finding the bar so not a great start! However, friendly staff and fairly straightforward - if a bit inconvenient with bags - once we found it. A shame there is no welcome/reception/sitting area etc downstairs in the hotel - felt a bit impersonal. Quite expensive - room only: no other hotel facilities (e.g. bar, lounge...) on offer for the price.Just a note to light sleepers that the town clock chimes every 15 minutes throughout the night! Didn't bother us (the hotel provides earplugs) but good to know.

We had a wonderful experience at Harbour Suites in Monnickendam! The location is absolutely perfect—right by the charming harbor, offering beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. The suites are modern, spacious, and tastefully decorated, blending comfort with style.Monnickendam is a lovely, picturesque town, and staying at Harbour Suites made our visit even more special. It’s a great base to explore the region, and we look forward to returning!

A minimum of 2 water bottles at room for a couple stay would have been good.

Good location The rooms are comfortable Mini bar for free and a welcome drink at the bar.

You have to do the check-in at the bar which is in the street in front. Not a big problem but uncomfortable when you have to carry luggage.Rooms are a bit noisy. But the hotel is aware of that and provide ear plugs.

Quiet atmosphere in a lovely small village

Breakfast was served around the corner, but just one waiter for both regular customers and hotel guests was not enough…. We had to wait a very long time for our food.

    10DavidPosted on: 7-17-2024

    Location. Modern.

Only negative is no staff available to contact. If we did not have a second key card then we would have been locked out with no way to contact anyone.

    Spacious room, comfortable bed, location.

Not a big deal but would have been nice to have a bar/food area and offer e.g. breakfast within the room price.

The apartment is clean and very stylish. It was very comfortable and quiet room. I highly recommend to visit their restaurant as well because it's tasty and very beautiful.

beautiful location in a small town on the North Sea Channel just 40 minutes from Amsterdam… great walking, few cars… wonderful restaurants, charming homes, a very clean and welcoming town

a little confusion as to where to check in… you need to go across the street to the restaurant and check in there, once we figured it out it was great all around!

    Location

Hotel room only had 2 coffee pods for 2 people so could only have 1 hot drink. An information leaflet said we would be supplied earplugs as local tower rings bells throughout the night, these were not provided so had the worst nights sleep. You have to check in at local restaurant and we ate there and a member of staff was so rude I will be complaining directly.

Very clean room. Great location just by the harbour. Very quiet neighborhood. The breakfast was excellent.

The pillows were not very comfortable

-Minibar inclusive-Bathtub-Working hair dryer-Airconditioner-Rooms are bigger than what you'd usually get-Very clean-Earplugs were provided, tho there was no need for them-Very soft bed, can be negative for those who can only sleep on a hard mattress tho-Enough pillows with good filling

There wasn't really something to dislike, tho some people might dislike having a bathtub right in the room.It can be a bit confusing to find too, as you have to check in at a restaurant across the canal and then stay in the Building with 'HOTEL' written on it.

    All good.

Beautiful modern suite. Loved the old town. Loved the restaurants. Bit far by public transport to city but well worth it.
