About
Casa Mia is a charming building of the late 19th-century, located in one of the main streets of the historic center of Siracusa, just a 3-minute walk from Ortigia Island. All rooms are en suite and offer air conditioning. The Casa Mia offers a homely atmosphere. The hotel consists of 3 apartments joined by a pleasant internal courtyard. The rooms come with vaulted ceilings and family antiques in an Art Nouveau style. Breakfast includes fragrant rolls, tarts, and homemade jams. This morning treat is served in the breakfast room or in the courtyard during summer. A bus stop to local seaside resorts and nearby towns, such as Noto, is 164 feet along the road, while the train station is only 10 minutes away on foot. The archaeological area, the Paolo Orsi Museum, and the Madonna delle Lacrime Basilica are also within walking distance.

Pros +
- Excellent location - close to major transport connections, the city center, and Ortigia. The room is in a historic building with shared extra spaces such as balconies and terraces (not private), where you can sit, rest, read, or simply enjoy the greenery. Even in winter, they felt lovely - I’m sure they’re beautiful in summer. The room itself is rather spacious, with impressively high ceilings (well over 4 meters), which gives a great sense of air and volume.
- Despite the fact that the entrance to the accommodation is on a bustling street, the room was silent. The street is pleasant and lively and connects the historic island with the modern city center. The bed was comfortable, and the room was spotlessly clean every day.
- The hotel is located near the old town and also close to bus stops what is convenient if you are going to see some other places. Breakfast is very tastyRoom is clean, staff is friendy. We had a great time here.
Cons -
- The room is simply furnished and modestly renovated - functional, though there’s room for improvement.A small tip for cooler days: because of the very high ceilings, heating the room with air conditioning works best if you set the temperature slightly higher than you need, as warming such a large volume of space takes more time.
- At first, I received a huge number of towels. That later gradually decreased, and on the last day, I didn't have a large towel left. It wasn't a big deal, but it was strange.
- the window - door lock could be better, it was not easy to open it

Close to city center and railway station, safe area, decent breakfast and comfy room
the window - door lock could be better, it was not easy to open it
Great location, staff friendly room and bath spacious but could use a little updating.
Location is amazing, right in the city centre, so was very easy to explore on foot. Breakfast was really nice, room was spacious.
Good location and price, room was clean and breakfast was ok.
Our room had a toilet that needed fixing, but they hadn't done that by the time we checked in. So we were given a key to another (empty) room to use the facilities there, which was inconvenient. The Air Condtioning for our (quad) room was also very weak, so wasn't able to cool the room to a comfortable temperature during our stay.
Great place on the main road and easy access on pretty much all attractive places! We really enjoyed the stay on that place! Also, they provide an umbrella for the beach! Old town was just 5 mins away walking! Breakfast was served with a lot of fresh fruit and foods! Deserts and yougurts! Long Story short, it was great overall!
Parking was a bit challenging if you rent or own a car! But if you're luckier, you can park in front of the hotel for good prices!
Very clean rooms, big breakfast, love the decorations of the testa di moro (moorish heads), it’s walking distance to a lot of places like the train station and the ortigia island.
Wifi connection wasn’t that strong in certain areas
Cute and affordable hotel right on the main drag, an easy walk from the station and to Ortigia. Nice-sized room, spotless, friendly and attentive staff. Nice decor.
Like most hotels in Italy today, the pressure to satisfy every imaginable breakfast request means lower quality. I would have preferred a simply breakfast of fruit, yogurt, and fresh cornetti.
Breakfast was wonderful, rooms were clean, hot water was great. The location was right in the middle between Ortigia and the new part of town.
excellent location - halfway between train station and Ortigia. good price for stay. has character.
facilities are tired.
Breakfast was quite varied but could do with one more toaster as the one there is is slow.Location was central,10 minutes from the bus station and Ortigia.Main attractions within walking distance.
Little details in the room could be improved.
AC/heating was not working. Needed to change room. Cleanliness could be improved.
The vintage look of the hotel. Location is between the Archaelogical Park and Ortigia Island. Staff is very helpful with information.
The bathroom has a bad smell. The housekeeping doesn't sweep under the bed as commented by others. Breakfast is not up to expectation. Everything is cold.
Everything, from the kindness and attention of the hostess, the location (which is about 500 m walking to downtown and dotted with restaurants, shops and a small supermarket nearby) and a reasonable breakfast. Since the room was facing inwards it was silent
Just the pressure of the waterline was low and the temperature of the water was oscillating such a wide range that it would go from warm to boiling.
Location is perfect in the centre of Syracuse
The water well pump making a noise at night right next to our room
Lovely little hotel, just a 10-minute walk from the train station and from Ortigia. The reception and breakfast room are very charming and staff were all very helpful and kind. Our room looked out onto a nice little courtyard and we found all the facilities to be well-kept and clean. A great place for a short stay in Siracusa!
Price and location.
The toilet seat didn’t fit…kept sliding off.
First of all, the staff were amazing. Since there were fewer guests, they upgraded me to a more comfortable room. The room itself had a vintage vibe; while the furnishings looked a bit old, they were not dirty. The location is excellent—very close to both Ortygia Island and the Archaeological Park.
The room didn’t have a desk, and there was no common area, which made it quite challenging to use my laptop. Additionally, the reception closed a bit early (at least during winter).
