Wow! Loved this place. Great location, amazing customer service, rooms were comfortable, clean, quiet, and beautiful. Breakfast buffet had a large selection. Iwish we would have stayed much longer!

Style, location, room size

The location is quite convenient and easy access to the entire city. Staff was very friendly and took pride in their work.

The fitness center ran out of towels, apples, and water, and the bar area was typically deserted and hard to get a drink or service at times. Yet, I appreciate that there was a fitness center at all, so overall it was a positive experience. I also wish water were more readily available for guests.

The room was clean, however it is obvious clever photography used in adverts, sitting area is much smaller than presented in photographs at booking. There was no heating and the room was uncomfortably cold in mid/late November. There was no coffee with tea tray, only expresso pods. There was no soap in the upstairs watercloset. To pay c£650 for one night for a room with above issues which was to help celebrate out vow renewal is not value for money, especially as it didn't include breakfast.Also we requested early checking and despite numerous emails the response stating that they would advise accordingly only arrived late the night before our stay, we still wait the advice.All in all it was very disappointing. As much as we loved Syracuse and ortigua and will return, I would not return to or recommend the hotel.

Although the room size is okay, it feels cramped. The curtains are all scratched and have pulled threads.The bathroom stinks… there’s no ventilation at all, so the smell of plumbing, mold, and dampness just hangs in the air. It was honestly really unpleasant.The shower door is a mess too! It doesn’t close properly, and every time you take a shower, you end up soaking the entire bathroom floor.

Despite the Hotel is in a beutifull location.,the building is amazing, rooms are old and tired. Even being a duplex .First floor is old, bedroom in second floor , renovated. A mixture of floors inside the room. Breakfast is not compatible with the price of the hotel.Reception people very nice at the check in But when we have a problem, the hotel was inflexible. The father of my daugther in law had a stroke and we had to live earlier. Problem explained but no wish to help us on refunding us for one nigth each room.I tried BOOKING and send an email BUT no response as well.

Fantastic location and facilities. It lacked outside space and sadly the roof top area wasn’t open on the 4 days we were there. It would have been lovely to enjoy the view. We didn’t take breakfast and opted to eat out instead. Loads of cafes nearby.

Facilities and service and location are top notch! It’s the best hotel on Ortigia (in my opinion)! The rooms have super high ceilings and a chandelier! The spa is gorgeous and relaxing.

The staff, particularly Carmen, Maria, my neccessary handicapped assistants, the restaurant staff, and Adriana and Szabo in the spa were excellent, friendly and extremely accommodating.

Sadly, I picked the hotel because I could continue my aquatic therapy in the pool. I was also told there would be an elevator to my room. Instead, I had to ask for help to navigate stairs every time I wanted to leave my room. It was impossible to use the pool because there were no safety measures there. The spa area was exceedingly hot at all times and really doesn't live up to the quality of the rest of this five star hotel. Mainly, it should not be allowed to call itself "handicapped-accessible", even if they are willing to send lovely people to help one climb stairs. It is definitely not a place that can be used independently by persons with mobility issues, which is very infantilizing.

The location is superb, the staff friendly, helpful and knowledgeable while the hotel itself sensational and the restaurant manages to stand out even in the culinary stronghold that is ortigia. I strongly recommend this hotel as a perfect base in Syracuse. It is heads and shoulders above the many city hotels I have stayed at, not just in Syracuse but in Sicily in general.

The Ortigia palace Hotel is outstanding. My wife and I stayed in a suite that was very spacious, had to levels, views were amazing (had windowns to two different sites of the island. The suite was incredible, with classy decoration. Hotel staff were very nice, cordial, helpful. Parking was very convenient (unusual for an European hotel). We cannot say enough good things of this hotel and its staff.

We should have stayed one more night.

One of the nicest hotels we’ve been to. Location great; Hotel beautiful; Staff excellent: ALL the front desk people were among the best I’ve encountered. Arianna was especially nice at breakfast. Housekeeping terrific.

No shower. I didn’t enjoy showering in the tub on my knees without a shower curtain.

Location, proximity to public parking, and most of all, the staf. Five stars all the way!

The washrooms and shower stalls are very small, hardly any counter space, to rest toiletry bags. It would be helpful to have a place to rest two luggages

Loved the space in the downstairs area , the great views of harbour from the room and the location to wander into Ortigia

Inadequate staffing of front desk causing long delays in any interaction. Inadequate air conditioning in duplex suite in early June . Can't imagine 40C summer ! Hotel phones did not work in room . Reported upon check in, never fixed . We had to go to busy front desk to get anything we needed . Tragic Spa experience where a simple manicure was messed up . Had to find a hair salon in town to fix . Cold stark institutionalized feel , sterile decoration . Felt like a government office building rather than a comfortable home away from home . Only adequate breakfast for " 5Star" hotel .We paid over $1000 per night and it was the worst value of any hotel of the three weeks we were in Italy . We stayed at more expensive hotels than this but all delivered on value this one certainly did not .
