    Pros +

    • The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome
    • A wonderfully hospitable hotel from beginning to end, A beautiful large than expected room with just the right mix of contemporary and antique furniture including a white linen swathed four poster bed. Breakfast featured local organic and home grown ingredients served with a smile. A serene garden sanctuary only a 10 minute drive to buzzy Ortigia!
    • This is a gorgeous country estate type stay, which is peaceful and unique. We found it great value for money, especially given you have two beautiful and pristine swimming pools in huge grounds. Our stay added a different dimension to our Sicily holiday, which was mainly focused on the larger tourist areas. Highly recommended for a night or two.

    Cons -

    • It would be good to have a cocktail and wine menu. We went for a drink before dinner and there was no list on offer so we had to make a bit of a guessing game.
    • There weren’t many food options or coffee when we arrived mid afternoon (and there are no other food outlets in the vicinity if you don’t have a car). But the breakfast and dinner were fabulous!
    • Awful experience in this hotel. Maybe the worst I have ever had. On my first night there, I brutally woke up at 2:30am with an unbearable pain in the back of my leg. To find out I got bitten by a 4-inch centipede in my bed. No one during the night was there to really support - only a night agent that only spoke Italian. I begged to call a doctor. He refused saying "it happens in the country side". I managed to change rooms for the night (a smaller room, temporarily). The pain lasted for 10 hrs, I couldn't sleep all night (the larger the centipede is the more venom it shoots, being able to cause serious damage). Next morning I had to interact with another employee who promised me to give me another room. That could not get ready before I left the hotel at 10:30am. I confirmed I would move when I was back later that day. I didn't hear from anyone from the hotel all day except via an email from the Mger accusing me of "abuse of property" because I didn't stay to move my belongings. Not only they didn't provide any help when I was in pain, didn't check on me the next day... but they dared ask me to pay for both rooms! I am still trying to get a refund for the 1st night - which they declined. Pictures of the centipede, the bite and the email from the Mger attached.

The location is really good but spoiled by the poor taste level of the newly built structure.Good breakfast too.

Our daughter's family, my husband and myself had the pleasure to stay at Donna Coraly for 4 nights in mid August. We immediately felt welcomed by Cinzia, Christina and another gentleman who's name escapes me. Our rooms were bright, clean and comfortable. The decor was modern and tasteful. I can tell you the air conditioning was a welcomed presence as it was quite hot outside. Our granddaughter is a "little fish". We all found the larger pool to our liking and used it each day we were there. Lovely olive trees provided shade while we sipped on Aperol cocktails. The pool and surrounding areas were kept pristine and there were always fresh towels on the lounge chairs. The breakfast was plentiful and beautifully displayed. I can still taste those lovely fresh peaches and good strong coffee. We were always cheerfully greeted and attended to by the lovely Chiara who remembered our favorites especially our granddaughters love of hot chocolate and blood orange juice. Chiara is truly a gem and we hope her efforts are recognized. I do wish we had been given a tour of the grounds as there were several old buildings that must have historical significance. All said, this Inn provided a lovely starting point of our two week stay in Sicily.

There could be more food variety at the Orangerie.

Fantastic boutique hotel. Nice accommodation - tranquility- very kind staff - excellent restaurant.

    9AnnaPosted on: 8-9-2024

Stunning property. So peaceful and quiet. Beautiful pools and gardens. Perfect for a proper relaxation holiday. The most stunning restaurant with an incredible atmosphere in the evenings and the food was delicious.

Hire car needed really (we didn’t have one)- otherwise you rely on taxis and it’s not cheap to do short distances.

This was the highlight of our stay in Sicily. Such beautiful grounds and the bedroom was so homey and comfortable with superb decor. Corrado from the reception and Alessandro from the bar/restaurant gave us the best welcome when we arrived which really made our stay. The hotel has two pools and beautiful gardens and also a vegetable garden. It’s also really well located close to Noto and Ortigia.

    Nothing at all

    9JbbzPosted on: 6-20-2024

A super boutique hotel in stunning gardens, nicely located near to Ortigia. The room was stunning - a lovely size and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Food options were a little limited for breakfast and lunch but it really didn't matter! A gym would be nice but the room had ample room for exercise.

    9LouisePosted on: 6-13-2024

The owner and all of the staff were friendly and exceptionally helpful. We loved Alessandro who was great fun and seemed to appear everywhere! The Taster Menu in the restaurant was amazing and beautifully presented. The chef clearly puts a lot of love into his food and should be commended! It was all described in detail by the restaurant manager/sommelier whose enthusiasm and wine recommendations were outstanding. Breakfast was unbelievably good with a wide range of good quality options. The Grounds gardens and pools were beautiful. It was conveniently located to Syracuse and Ortigia. We absolutely loved Noto about 10 miles away with spectacular architecture and restaurants. We would love to visit again.

We had the Lucia suite with garden and hot tub. The garden and sitting room were lovely, but the bedroom and bathroom were a little tight for space. However it was a beautiful comfortable bed.Our Apple phones couldn’t connect to their WiFi.

Aspects of the hotel were superb, but it would have benefitted from a central lounge area of some

The buffet meals were very ordinary but we didn’t necessarily want the tasting menu more than once. As the hotel is a little distance from anywhere else it made the dining experience a choice of extremes.

Amazing property in the countryside with stunning gardens and surrounded by nature, but still very close to beaches and nearby towns (Noto and Ortigia were a 15-25 drive away). We had a suite with private garden and jacuzzi, which was lovely to go back to just before sunset after a long day of exploring. We could hear all the birds singing and we could smell the flowers all while sitting in the jacuzzi. Staff were all excellent and very welcoming. Reception would check on you when leaving / returning to the property. Special mention to breakfast service. Rooms were clean, modern and air conditioned.

Donna Coraly is a beautiful hotel and setting, the staff were amazing and so friendly, it was a very comfortable stay from the moment we arrived. The rooms are charming, and the grounds are so beautiful and well kept. There are 2 pools, one is perfect for lounging and the other you can do some lengths. Breakfast had everything you need, and the restaurant was delicious.Really recommend staying here, it will not disappoint.

    9SamPosted on: 9-27-2023

We loved the little tour of the property when we arrived and learning the history of the farm. The rooms are beautiful, the attention to detail is fantastic. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit, the food was amazing and the service was excellent. The barman at the pool was lovely.

Breakfast had a good selection of food but the pastries were often burnt. The service was also very slow, we waited a long time for coffee because the waiter went into the kitchen and stayed there. Plates were left to pile up on our table.

    10WilhelmPosted on: 9-19-2023

Everything about this hotel was exceptional. It is stylish, luxuriuos yet homely given its family history. The grounds with its perfectly manicured gardens two swimming pools make for a perfect day for those who choose stay in and make the most of the surroundings. Lucia and her team are the epitome with 5 star hospitability.

    10KirsteenPosted on: 6-29-2023

Relaxing, beautiful friendly staff, lovely rooms- there was a larger swimming pool you could actually swim in, not shown in as open to public I think. A great addition

    10LaurenPosted on: 6-10-2023

This was the splurge stay for our week-long trip in Sicily. The property is beautiful, the rooms are works of art, the food is spectacular, and the staff are helpful and very professional. You park under an arbor of trained vines - I am sure our rental car never spent the night in a nicer place! The grounds are lovely, with a pool, hot tub, and garden, and the location is historic for any WW2 history buffs out there. Very short drive to Siracusa for restaurants.

Leaving. As a resort, the property discourages guests from bringing outside food or drink onto the premises, but the very well-stocked mini bar is free so no complaints :)
