old money and excellent breakfast

Even though this is an old hotel with old traditions, the old man at the reception was rude to me. This surprised and upset me. There is no kettle or coffee maker in the rooms, and if you need tea in the evening, I had to ask the receptionist. This is a hotel oversight, I think.

A convenient location near the old historic district, easy access by car, adequate parking, comfortable room, everything very clean and correct, an excellent fish house restaurant just down the street, welcoming and helpful staff, would stay there again

Perfect place for one night in Siracusa. The man at the desk was very friendly and helpful

The management was wonderful. Bruno the manager always seemed to be able to answer any question or need you might encounter. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Location was fabulous. The train station was about 5 minutes away. Ortiega was a 10 minute comfortable walk. Several great restaurants were no more than 5-7 minutes from the hotel.you couldn't find a better located hotel in the area.

Only one small detail was annoying. The shower hand held spray needs to be registered. It continually fell to the floor of the shower.

Nicely located between the railway station and historic centre of Siracusa; the hotel is good value for money. Breakfast is good; and the room and other spaces were clean. The accommodation is literally few minutes by walk from the railway station. The Siracuse cathedral in the city centre is 12 - 15 minutes away by walk.

A very decent hotel, conveniently located—Ortigia Island is within walking distance. Free street parking is available, and we always found a space. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are delicious and hearty. I highly recommend this hotel.

breakfast was very good. Room was clean and comfortable. very close to bus station and the hop on hop off bus which was a great way to see the town. to walk to Orteiga was very convenient. Hotel representatives were very nice! Quite helpful in getting us around the area.

No lift! Small hotel and luckily our bags were small.

Everything was perfect, and I was completely satisfied with my stay. The staff were nice and polite. I especially appreciated the spacious bathroom and shower. The Wi-Fi worked well, and the location was very convenient - right next to the train station and just a 10-15 minute walk from Ortigia.

Front desk was very helpful and available for a late check in. Breakfast was sizable and varied. Free street parking was available across the street for easy access to the downtown of Syracuse and Ortigia. The hotel wasn't fancy by any means but extremely excellent quality for the price. Would definitely stay again.

Price is very cheap for a night. Location is very good, 10 min walk from the main part of Siracusa.

Bathroom smelled like sewers so bad I had to leave the bathroom doors closed during my stay. Shower was rusty and not very clean. Bed sheets had stains on them.

Location, right next to train station and only ten min walk into centre

Room was shocking and bed was very uncomfortable, also could not for the life of me find where a plug socket was.

All good until they changed my room without asking me, with no explanation. I just returned from a trip and found another person in my room. To make it worse, when moving my stuff (open laguage, personal things laying in the room) they lost some clothing that were on my bed. They made me look that i'm insane just showing me the cleaned room and telling me that nothing was left in the room. Furthermore instead of trying to find a way to settle the matter, they just said to me that i should make a claim. I've sent messages as not to make a negative review and assist me with the process of setteling this matter, no response.

We really enjoyed our stay at Coloniali Hotel, it was a home from home..The bedroom was extremelly confortable, clean and spacious We could not faulted.The position was great been near to all the facilities.. bus coach few minuts away and ortigia island 5 minuts away.The staff receptionist and the lady who serves the breakfast I think is Paola were allways professional, freindly with a nice smile.Without doubt we highly recomended to stay at this hotel and we would go back.

Was very close to bus station, easy to get there.

The receptionist grandpa was super rude and annoying, making sarcasm on my questions. The wifi was low quality. In general it is a very depressing place to stay.

Good location, very good breakfast, good price. TV and fridge (look in negatives) in room. Nice temperature all the time in spacious room. Nice personnel and reception communicate in English

I always make an opinion according to price of apartment. In this time apartment was very cheap, but it was much worse than similar in same price. It was a bit loud in room (sounds of wibrations like big wentilator working all the time, even after turned off Air condition and fridge). Apartment wasn't dirty as not cleaned (excluding ceramic toilet inside)- but there was a lot of mould - bathroom and in room. Also something white similar to white mould next to spare pillow in wardrobe.In fridge there was no minibar, only 2 water bottles, piece of aluminium foil and a brown stain. Also a broken shelf.

The lady at the breakfast didn’t let us in at 9:59… not event a signe of kindness, that why we give 3 instead of 7/7,5

Staff were friendly. Good location for us - 10/15 minute walk walk to Ortiga and a 15/20 minute walk to the archeological park. Lots of on road parking right outside but we did notice these spaces were quite full after 5pm. Breakfast has a good range of items. We had a first floor room so had a small balcony area. No issues with noise at night.

As with other comments, there was some mould in the shower which was not nice. Not many options for plug sockets in the room - had to choose between charging phone or having light. Room and hotel were tired looking but not a problem for us staying one night, would not be so keen for a longer stay.

Clean and comfortable room with en-suite, perfect for my one night stay. Good breakfast in the smallish room (or sheltered seating outside). Host was friendly and welcoming and allowed me to leave my bag after check-out until I left for my train.Reasonably well located between the train station, town and Ortigia island

Property located in a drab back-street.Too many emails both before and after my stay, even though I had completed the advance registration requested.
