- Our stay at Musciara was simply the best we’ve ever experienced. This family-run resort is filled with heart and attention to detail — everything is immaculate, beautifully maintained, and designed to make you feel at home. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed and cared for. The private beach, the tasteful atmosphere, and the genuine hospitality made every day unforgettable. We have traveled a lot, but Musciara stands out as something truly special. This place has a piece of our hearts, and we cannot wait to return.
- From the meticulous attention to detail to the beautiful decorations, attentive staff, and amazing beach, everything was truly exceptional. The owners, the enchanting magician Laura, and her daughter Francesca treated us with great warmth and hospitality. A big shoutout to Costanza, Fabio, and the fantastic Argentinian couple working at the bar.The location is superb and within walking distance to the major areas in Ortigia. I really wish we could stay longer in this wonderful place!
- I absolutely loved the warmth from the owners and her daughter, Francesca! They made us feel like family! The location was perfect! We rented a car to get around but if you don’t rent a car, there’s a short taxi drive you the piazza. This boutique hotel has the most magnificent beach that exudes elegance, privacy & perfection!
Cons -
- Very little. We would expect that filtered water will be offered to guests at the hotel. With minimal choices for lunch on the menu, the restaurant was on the pricier side (which was to be expected).

Breakfast was exceptional using local products. Excellent choice served with charm in sunny terrace by the sea
the beach was stunning - as was the food and service....... we had a wonderful time.
very little......
Little slice of heaven in the busy Siracusa. Exceptional Owner(Laura)and Staff( Simoni, Fabio, Alfonso, Francesca, Salvatore and Lu lu) Five star all the way around. Serenity on the other side of the gate. Every meal was fantastico and unbelievable views at meals , beach and coral view suite! Definitely returning.
Nothing!
The hotel is very well designed and it makes you feel like being in a beautiful houseThe beach is very nice, quite with beautiful access to the seaThe restaurant seating is just wow Walking distance to OrtigiaFree parking The owner let us Sun protection cream the 1st day, it was much appreciated
Nothing particular but I would recommend to offer a closed menu of food on the beach (eg. platter with salad, bruschettas, other tapas) at closed price for those who don’t want to sit in the restaurant like us - now beyond nuts and chips no food option. As well as I wouldn’t put extra cost for beyond hard boil eggs breakfast options considering the price for the room.
This place is an absolute gem. Beautiful boutique hotel, exceptional staff/service, and a private beach so beautiful it actually makes you want to cry! Incredible snorkelling just offshore too if you’re into snorkelling (I am, and this is the best snorkelling I’ve ever done in the Med. There are these beach protection rocks dropped just offshore (and just under the water so they don’t spoil the beautiful view) - and these structures provide shelter for tonnes of fish - it’s literally teaming with everything from grouper to moray eels. Literally incredible.
Nothing - everything is perfect.
Beautiful beach area, a quirky apartment. Lovely outside space with great sea views
We stayed in a one bed apartment. Bedroom is on road level, so it was very noisy from early. There is also building work going on right across the road. We stayed 3 nights & towels are not changed. This should be done daily.
owners, location, beach, breakfast, decoration
some of the staff not so smiling
Musciara is a stunningly beautiful resort which has a private beach located in the heart of Siracuse. The resort has a sumptuous breakfsst buffet which you can enjoy sitting overlooking the Mediterranean. The staff are extremely attentive to your every need. They will recommend wonderful restaurants, arrange for your laundry or book you a massage on the beach. This is a 5 star resort in every way. Book here you will thoroughly enjoy your experience.
Parking on weekends in the evening can be challenging. The resort's parking is part of a large public lot. On weekends beach goers and people going to restaurants and bars nearby fill the lot . We managed to find a spot eventually.
The private beach was an excellent place to unwind after a day out. Room and whole property were very luxurious. Breakfast had many choices, overlooking the beautiful ocean and Ortigia. Free car parking next to the property was also a big bonus.
It is quite a walk onto the island, but having the private beach makes up for the location.
The facilities at the hotel are brilliant! Lovely beach area with access to the sea. The staff are friendly. It's a 20 minute walk into Ortega along nice streets.
Location and views - a walk to Ortigia of about 20 mins. Good breakfast.Joditta is friendly at breakfast. Beach area had potential but broken glass in sea - beach staff keep sand clean. Nice sitting areas if weather is warm. Excellent views from the terrace. Very clean. Nice kitchen area and decor. Some parking either in courtyard or on street or adjacent carpark.
Bedroom of apartment felt damp and a bit musty. Might have been better in summer with Aircon on. Bedroom on ground floor so presumably cooler. Hard bed. Lots of metal stairs over 3 floors. Would not be good for anyone with small children or mobility issues. Hugh bunch of keys to access various areas. Can't say we felt welcome - wondered if it had changed hands since older reviews. Staff seemed confused. Not customer focused with no info on area or what's on.
The property is just beautiful, elegantly decorated inside and with a spectacular view of the sea and the harbor. What a pleasure to have breakfast on their patio by the water or soak up the sun on comfortable lounge chairs on their lovely beach.
Can’t think of a thing, we loved everything about our stay!
superb location, views across to Ortigia, walking distance to main attractions, decor, food, staff and style
everything, location, private beach, decor, ambience, especially appreciated the staff who were excellent. The food was faultless, more expensive than most, but definitely worth it.
everything was perfect.
we loved absolutely everything. the hotel is just beautiful and the setting is so perfect. even in stormy weather, we were blown away by the atmosphere. it’s the perfect place to explore Ortigia. There are also the loveliest dogs!
nothing!
What an incredible find. Small, chic, gorgeous boutique hotel run by brother and sister, Laura and Salvatore. It is a 'resort' only in the true Italian sense (private beach with sheltered swimming - amazing!) and in every regard the service is intensely personal. A small team of lovely young people assist the owners and go way beyond the norm in their attention to detail. Stay here!
Lovely owners , and young but nice staff and willing to help and do anything you ask.Private beach was great , and the terrace by our room Aqua 2 was wonderful. Breakfast was a nice selection of meats, cheeses and pastries. There was a mishap with one of my bags, and the owners handled it perfectly. We had a great stay.
It's a great location, but the prices for dinner make no sense. Way too high and the quality was not there...really not good, but you can tell they are trying, but for the price you can eat at some of the best restaurants in Ortigia. My suggestion would be too offer some simple snacks throughout the day, as people will go out for dinner anyway
