Pros +
- The Pavilion restaurant was, as always, outstanding. We were particularly impressed by the sommelier, who proposed us an excellent wine pairing for our dinner. The main restaurant also has a wonderful menu and an excellent team in the kitchen. The hotel is comfortable, the room service prompt and invisible.
- Classic mountain hotel with all necessary facilities in pristine condition. Highlights for the service specially at the Pavillon, a spectacular restaurant.
- One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.Every detail at the Dollenberg Hotel is crafted with love and passion. From the moment you arrive, it feels like stepping into a fairy tale—where the heroes are none other than the Schmiederer family. You don’t feel like a guest in a hotel; you feel like a welcomed visitor in Mr. Schmiederer's personal castle. The hotel offers a wide range of steam rooms and saunas, each carefully selected to create a luxurious wellness experience. If you need medical attention or holistic care, the Privé Premium Holistic & Integral Wellbeing Center is right there, offering a modern approach to health and relaxation.Nature lovers can wander through the surrounding forest, enjoy peaceful hikes, or even camp under the stars. In the evening, the two-star Michelin restaurant will take you on a culinary journey, paired with one of the best-curated wine collections you’ll ever experience. In a word, Dollenberg is a true escape—a romantic getaway straight out of a fairy tale. It's what we long for in the rush of our big-city lives.I strongly recommend visiting while the Schmiederer family is still running the hotel. Like masters of a sacred temple, their presence and dedication bring soul to every corner of the place. Their love is what makes your stay truly unforgettable. If you appreciate tradition, hedonism, and the magic of a perfect escape—this is your destination.
Cons -
- Lack of communication - hardly answered any of our online inquiries. The main restaurant does not accept reservations, especially for the desired dining area, which is unheard of in a 5 start hotel. The spa is rather small for the size of the hotel, therefore crowded, with all beach beds taken or reserved.
- Dichroic lights should be changed to enhance energy efficiency.
- The Gym will be nice to improve .

The person doing the pedicure was behaving badly and unprofessionally. After giving my feedback at the reception, there was no later remark from the hotel about that, almost as if this did not matter.Everyone else were amazing.
Beautiful location and property. Very tastefully appointed.
Spa and sauna. Temperatures in all the hot items were woefully low. Jacuzzi was cold, steam sauna and dry sauna were lukewarm. No impact ?
The spa
The service, no one spoke English and they were not trained (breakfast)
location and luxury
staff communication is terrible. you do expect some English speaking on a 5 star resort
Beautiful location, beautiful building
Poor response time - we ordered coffee in our room all three mornings between 7:30 - 8:00 am - it only worked once until I complained. There were no remote controls in the room for the three TV's - they brought us two after we had to ask for them and one of the remote controls didn't even work. Our icebox was broken and we had to report it FOUR times before someone came to replace it - the evening before our departure :-( Few of the service personnel spoke passable German...There was no coffee machine in the room and I think for a 5 star hotel, this should be standard. It took three complaints for them to come and sweep away a dead spider in our room.....all in all, a very disappointing stay for the money...
Very nice and ample spa, sauna and pool area, excellent facilities for hotel. The restaurant at the Hutte was extremely nice - superb location and wonderful choices for dinner. Staff was very friendly and helpful with hiking recommendations and ready to answer any questions.
Paying attention to small details regarding room service. Batteries were empty at the door and TV, therefore the door couldn't be locked. Exchange of towels and bathrobe wasn't always part of the expected room service check list.
Sauna food
Weather
the hotel location is really gorgeous..
i felt the air in the baths was much too hotin the garden, there was no possibility for shade, the umbrellas were not adjustable and so crowdedour room which was a superior room was expensive for nothing special the staff was mostly inexperienced, and not terribly friendly in comparison to a previous stay, we were not enchanted
Great SPA area, nice hotel in general, location beautiful, dinner and breakfast excellent
Room wasn't ready at the promised time, but we were treated with another glass of Sekt and coffee/cake, and room was worth waiting. Price is to high even if the hotel delivers on almost any parameter.
location and cleanliness
they overcharged me for the transportation
everything: food, sport and wellness facilities, spacious room, cosiness, care of staff
Most things were great, not only at the hotel but also the park outside
For this high rated hotel I was quite surprised that there was no coffee/tea in the room and that a bottle of water was only available in the minibar (payment). Also not OK that with only one night stay you should pay extra to use the SPA facilities.
Very good Food und Wellness
The room is not protected the noise
good location
breakfast was too crowded
Breakfast and diner were good!
Notting
location and service
parts of the hotel are a little dated
