we liked the sauna and spa environment

the hotel is old fashioned, the food was basic but in the end it comes all to price to quality ratio which was really out of range. Earlier this week we had comfortable hotels for 20% better prices.

We spent 2 nights in this lovely place. Location is perfect, many hikes and paths are available directly from the hotel, and aprox. 500m from hotel, there is a great sun set view. Amazing to spend a lovely summer night! What was even greater was the personal, especially the owner Mrs. Melanie Ritter. I made a mistake during booking (totally caused by my lack of attention) and she was very understanding and solved the issue right on the spot, without giving us hard time (and in the main season, when hotel is full, so any re-booking gets complicated). All hotel personal was absolutely nice and welcoming, happy to advise/provide tips for hikes in the surroundings. Many thanks for the amazing stay, I would love to come again some time!!

Nice terrace

Pool area underwhelming. Pool small, surrounding pool area not well maintained. Mold in the shower. Fitness area can hardly be called that.

Very good service - polite, courteous, prompt and quick. Value for money for sure.

I wish I stayed there longer

both the food and the breakfast were very good. The service very friendly. Fortunately there is a busstop directly opposite from the hotel, because it rained a lot and we were on a hiking trip..

The place is very remote. Although the food is very good, the bedrooms are ok, but nothing special. This was a bit disappointing for the price we paid.

Excellent location (right on the Westweg and near ski facilities), extensive leisure facilities (pool, sauna, gym), good food, great outdoor areas, really helpful staff.

The rooms aren't particularly well soundproofed.

Nice location and the staff were friendly.

Out of season, so not much spa facilities. We booked a suite but there wasn't one available. The staff gave us an extra adjoining room.....not really necessary for two of us but they made an effort and reduced the bill.

we enjoyed the location (middle of the schwarzwald) and the lady running the hotel was very kind to us, even though we arrived a bit late.

beautifully located, you can see a wonderful senset just 3 min walking. and the swimming pool/saunavery nice breakfast with healthy optionsfriendly staff (working their ass off though)

if you want internet important, the wifi is bad. i was looking for peace so no problem to me

Perfect location for hiking in the Black Forest! We watched the sunset on a mountain top on a 3min hike from the hotel, loved the little sauna after hiking all day and we're offered free drinks by the pool at night.

We had a shared hallway for the bathrooms which was perfectly fine but a bit noisy as the walls were not sound proof.

Breakfast was great and the service perfect. Melanie, the manager, was there when we had a personel problem to solve. She was very efficient and cool. Thank you Melanie and your dad aswell. Rooms are spacious, quiet and clean. Wifi in the room was top. We had a 5 night stay and were very satisfied. A visite during the winter must be very nice aswell.

the design of the shower room. it included the sink in the shower area so not practical for two people to use at once. whole “bathroom” is wet when using the shower.

The breakfast was very good and the location was beautiful.

The dinner was underwhelming and the room was tiny, even after we'd received a complimentary room "upgrade".

Great location in the Black Forest to enjoy the snow.

We booked a suite and didn't get one because they overbooked their amount of rooms. We got a normal room without any refund. Dinner was a "buffet" with very small choice (salad bar and frozen products, didn't taste good), not what we expected... For Covid not the place to go, as people were close to each other and bumping into themselves at the buffet. 2 nice saunas, but with almost no space to relax/lay down (one with 5 long chairs, the other one without), when crowed you need to wait and stand.

Verry small room, old bathroom, external bath was closed during summer.

Superb location in the heart of the black forest with lots of trails and attractive destinations for day-trips right there.Good sauna area. Decent food and breakfast. Comfortable beds and pillows.All in all decent price/performance ratio.The spa area is still under construction (August 2021) but looks promising.

Lack of shower curtain/ door makes bedroom quite humid after showering. Soaps in the bathroom were not refilled regularly.The sauna while functioning and relaxing was not given a lot of attention by the staff (e.g. soap and water not refilled, lack of proper instructions or recommendations)

Beautiful location, easy access to nice hiking trails, good and friendly staff, tasty food.

The staff are very friendly and ready to help. The restaurant has very tasty food and I found the hotel very well equipped with all the amentities.
