    Pros +

    • The location and facilities were wonderful. The staff offered us the chance to borrow towels for the beach. The breakfast has a great variety, and everything looks fresh. It's also possible to store the luggage after the check out.
    • Clean. Good location.
    • It was great food, location with beautiful view and helpful staff.

    Cons -

    • During windy days, the sound of winds gets accumulated under the door. This can be a lot of noise and can disturb your sleep
    • No windows at all. No fresh air. No daylight. Decoration: as cheap as possible.Management: unfriendly. Inflexible. All about money making.
    • It’s pet friendly, but dogs can’t be in the room alone, would be nice then to have a space for dogs where you can leave for 30 min or an hour, to have a drink at the bar or to go swim in the pool, or during breakfast :)A bit far from the port, but with an electric bike it’s easy and fast to reach, so not a problem if you travel light!

Clean, well maintained, beautiful room!We had a suite on the ground floor, from the room you can reach the beach by walk, perfect if you travel with a dog, they can go out for a walk as soon as you wake up. The products in the bathroom smell so good (Marie-Stella-Maris).They prepared a cute spot for the dog in the room where they can eat and drink. Recommended.

Beautiful location right on the dunes, dog friendly was a huge bonus. We got the family suite. Very comfortable for a family of 5. The staff was very friendly too. Public transit takes you right from the ferry port to the hotel for free. Everything went smoothly.

A fabulous location in the dunes. Bike hire from the hotel, staff very accommodating and wildlife literally on the doorstep too.

Parking not at hotel, but within the public car park. Only a couple of hundred metres away so not a real problem

Stunning location, most beautiful beach to go for morning and evening walks and in the middle of a nature park. Breakfast was excellent as were all the other meals in the restaurant. Rooms are quiet as the hotel is the only one just by the beach.

Sauna, swimming pool, balcony, personal (hotel stuff), view to sea from room, bed, very clean room and fresh smell.

Very simple breakfast, small choice. But fresh and tasty.

Spacious suite, excellent bed, close to the beach. It’s an upscale beach hotel where you feel comfortable to bring in a bit of sand on your shoes. Exceptional reception staff who went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel organized electric bikes which were excellent.

The restaurant dinner food was basic. The breakfast offering could be greatly improved especially for such an expensive hotel. One would expect better quality food. For example, the orange juice was not fresh but pasteurized and not pleasant. The scrambled eggs were out of a packet and should have been freshly made with real eggs.

Amazing location and wellness facilities. King bed very comfortable and large spacious bathroom. Beautiful views. We got a free upgrade which was most appreciated and enjoyed.

The location is what we hoped! We were able to stroll across the sand dunes to the North Sea Beach for a couple of energizing walks (first thing in the morning and late in the afternoon) with beautiful views. Seeing the sunset from Westaanzee Strand Restaurant was a highlight! Upon our arrival at the hotel, the young lady who assisted us in checking in was tending the bar area. (No one was at the reception area after 9:00 p.m. ) She was very sweet and helpful. She did what she could to address our room concerns. Her kindess did ease our disappointment.

The location of our room. My husband seemed to believe we were assigned our room (the lowest in the building like a "garden" level (pictured with small table and two chairs) with no view unless standing on a chair, and a very musty smell) because of our home address. Funny thing, we were on Terschelling to visit the area where his grandparents were born, lived and died, so technically... his address began on the island! The young lady who checked us in was not able to check on other availabilities. Our reservation was made four months before our stay. We used a third party for booking. Perhaps that is a problem for the Paal 9 Hotel? It was not a problem anywhere else we traveled throughout Lower Saxony and Netherlands over 12 days and stays. (We did get on the computer to see if other rooms were available when we arrived and saw that there were other rooms indeed!) While disappointed in our room, we were not discouraged from enjoying the island! We hope to return to Terschelling. We would even like to try Paal 8 Hotel again... but we will call to make reservations if we do!

Lovely surroundings, lots to do. Hiking, cycling and hotel is also very helpful in organising activities. Stunning decor and delicious breakfast.

Very helpful & pleasant staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Good restaurant with very good food. Very easy to rent normal or electric bikes from the hotel.

Excellent location and the hotel itself and facilities were very good. My main observations were that the dinner was expensive for the manner in which it was presented good food but presented on cold plates therefore the food was not warm. Breakfast was advertised as being exceptional but it was an adequate buffet nothing special unfortunately … two types of eggs a very dry scrambled egg and boil eggs no egg station to get an omelette or fried eggs which is normal in Europe .Staff in general weren’t that friendly except the young lady who served us at dinner who was very nice and lifted the experience somewhat. But mainly curt conversations and short negative comments which were disappointing. The hotel is great lovely position and facilities but had amateur feel generated by the staff
