The Starnbergsee Hideaway

Room, view. Beautiful lawn leading to the lake. Staff weren’t many but friendly. Room was very comfortable with a fantastic view. Liked having a water cooker in the room. Liked the shower. Good grocery store (Edeka) and bakery (Bäckerei am See) in walking distance (just under a mile).

Seems understaffed, would have liked more choices from the breakfast buffet (omelette, etc). Housekeeping so-so: did just an OK job on the room. We asked for more towels, didn’t get them and he didn’t replace the used washcloths in the toilet room.

very dissapointing, terrifying, and we didn’t end up staying the night.

The property was not in a state to be operational. The garden was all dug up and excavators and other heavy machinery was present. We were initially told by the ONE and only staff memeber of the place, that they are in fact closed! There was no sign of life, no other guests, no functional restaurant. The room was covered in dust, evidently not visited by anyone in a long time!felt like in a horror movie. i feared for my life and the lives of my family. it was terrible. we didnt end up staying. asked for a refund on the prepaid room, due to the fraudulent listing (this property should not be offered!). The property did not approve the refund. Beware of this listing! DO NOT BOOK!

Beautiful location, amazing staff. Great getaway for a relaxing vacation. Rooms are spacious and classy. Baki and Leandro are the best and made our stay super fun and smooth.

Breakfast can be improved

The location is great, rooms are very classy and beautiful. The staff are super friendly and helpful, they usually always went out of their way to make us happy. I want to thank Leandro and Baki, they were super fun, cool and made our stay remarkable. The stay was comfortable and very chilling/relaxing for a getaway. Thank you

There was some silverfish and bugs in the room The breakfast could be better and more hot dishes variety

Insects in room on bathroom floor and tub, mould around bathroom tub, looks a bit run down. Eaten apple found in fridge. Breakfast ok.

Our lake view room was huge with exceptional furnishings & amenities. The entire hotel is beautifully decorated with a lovely ambience & the staff were ultra friendly & helpful. The lakeside location is perfect.

Lakeside position.Some staff excellent, others untrained.Food was mostly good, though one fried egg was dreadful, swimming in oil.

Room described as 'Suite with sauna'. There was no sauna, only a steam cabinet.The bath had a small hand shower but there was no way of keeping the water within the bath.I had requested a double duvet (not 2 singles). Reception unaware, said no double duvets in Germany (not true).On arrival, room had 2 biscuits and fake flowers. Not good enough for 500€ per night; better to provide nothing.No phone in room so hard to order room service; I had to ring the hotel from my own phone.Wifi in room didn't work.Minibar contained only water, no optional drinks.Items consumed were not restocked when room made up.Warnings about mosquitoes but no window net or electric anti-mosquito device.Room service cooked breakfast for 2 guests was all on one plate; no trolley, just a tray. The requested milk was missing.The hotel has pretensions of luxury and charges accordingly; in reality the luxury is not present.

Great staff very clean nice location. Not much to do for children at the actual hotel but plenty in the area.

What an exquisite place! Everything is so perfect that it’s hard to believe that this place is real! I’ve stayed there with my husband only one night and we didn’t want to leave! We felt not just staying in the hotel, but being the meaningful part of it! The personnel were so friendly, nice and hospitable, especially Mr. Leandro, only his smile and positive vibes already made our staying memorable! We’re very thankful to all the personnel! We definitely come back again and next time will stay even longer to fully enjoy this amazing place! Many thanks to all the personnel to make our weekend so special!

Reception staff were so welcoming they even cleared a room to accommodate all our bikes(we were a travelling group of 11 people)

Waited quite a long time for food to be served

Gorgeous hotel, perfect location. The river view suite was absolutely perfect. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Everyone speaks English. The breakfast was amazing and all the food was delicious. The Hotel is lovely.

The location is excellent. Very good parking facilities. Good breakfast and good service. The view from the room was really nice and peaceful.

The junior suite did not reach my expectations when considering the price. The 'checking in' process was very amateurish and I had to wait for some time to be served for the 'checking out' process. Here again, considering the price of the stay, one would expect a better front office service.

Beautiful building and location, staff really nice

We stayed for our first wedding anniversary and it was amazing! The hotel is beautiful, the staff is great, the food is excellent and the rooms are amazing! We even got a free upgrade for our celebration! We were super welcome and felt like "home away from home" there! Besides, we traveled with our dog and it was super special, they prepared a bed for him, they added bowls for food and water in the room and he got lots of treats and petting from the staff! We would come back and recommend it to anyone!

Room was very dirty.

The reception staff were very accommodating and helpful. The waiting staff were a little less so, one having a very peculiar attitude to women. The toy dogs guarding the rooms are genius!

No air conditioning or fans in the room. One was supplied when asked for it. We moved rooms from the garden side to the lakeside which was far more comfortable and cool. The meal and drink prices were very expensive. Breakfast was ok, but not a great choice.

Staff was very friendly and hospitable

value for money - not so great. My door was difficult to open. location is very difficult to get to if you don't have a car. I ordered the fish at the restaurant and parts it was cold. no water bottles in the room - I had to constantly go to the restaurant to get water no welcoming staff at breakfast- I ended up seating myself and getting my own breakfast and ordering my drink at the bar and bringing it back to my table.

We parked our bikes on premise in the bike shack. It was highly disappointing to find that both of our bike lights stolen in the morning. Did not expect that at a hotel of this caliber especially on the property.
