Our aim is simple: that your first visit is the first of many. - Hotel was elegant and comfortable. It is located close to everything in town. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Our home away from home in Ireland/Kenmare. Excellent location, excellent food in the bar and restaurant and best of all, amazing staff. The hotel is charming and welcoming and staff go out of their way to provide assistance as needed. Close to all the restaurants, pubs, stores and short drive to many site seeing opportunities in this part of Ireland (Rings of Kerry and Beara, north to Killarney, south east to Cork).
- Great location, beautiful hotel, lovely room, great bar.
Cons -
- Could have used a bit more light in the sitting area in the hotel room.
- Bed could have been a wee bit softer but we notice that most beds where we stay in Ireland tend towards the firm side!
- This was our 3rd time staying here. Last time was in 2022. The prices have gone up, breakfast is not included and the breakfast was not very good. The 3 of us ordered different items and we all were disappointed. Not sure what happened. Quality seems to be slipping. Our other morning we went somewhere else for breakfast. Staff is excellent!

Great location, beautiful hotel, lovely room, great bar.
A beautiful place. At one end of town, and a quick stroll along the high street. A beautiful walk around
Perfect location for starting and ending The Ring of Kerry.

Convenient to all shops and restaurants, very well maintained, and a beautiful bar.
The coffee maker was hard to use due to very little light in the area where it was located.
It was overpriced. Breakfast was included but when you sit down you were given a menu with prices. After asking was given what was included.
Beautiful, spacious room; great location. Very helpful staff.
Our bartender Gary was really great. Beautiful smile and quick with a laugh.
My particular room did not have a ceiling fan, which I missed. It was a little warm at night.
We had a wonderful experience staying at this small historic hotel during our trip to Ireland! The building itself is full of old-world charm, beautifully maintained with just the right touch of character. Each room, while compact, was thoughtfully designed, warm, and incredibly cozy—perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The location couldn't have been better. Nestled right in the heart of town, we were just minutes away from the start of the Ring of Kerry and had easy access to all the highlights of Killarney. We loved being able to walk to local shops and pubs in the evening and enjoy the vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere. One of the standout features was the breakfast served in the restaurant downstairs—it was absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for a place with history, heart, and a fantastic location for exploring southwest Ireland, this little gem is hard to beat.
While the rooms were generally very comfortable, we did notice a bit of variation in temperature: one room felt a touch too warm, while the other was slightly on the cooler side. It wasn't a major issue, but something to keep in mind if you're particular about climate control.
Location, staff, uniqueness.
Ireland is experiencing unusually warm weather. The hotel rooms were very warm and it was difficult to make comfortable.
We loved our stay at the Landsdowne. It was right in the center of town so it was an easy walk to everything in Kenmare. The hotel itself is very upscale and beautifully decorated, and the bar area was warm and cozy. We really enjoyed hanging out there with live music as a backdrop. We booked a "Little Nest" room and it was modern and clean with a very nice bathroom and a super comfy bed. There was a free parking area behind the hotel, so that was definitely a plus. I would definitely recommend the hotel itself but would suggest upgrading to a room other than "Little Nest". There is no elevator, so just be mindful of that if mobility is an issue.
I wish we had booked a different type of room and would not really recommend the "Little Nest". We had two rooms with views of the parking lot. Both were small and made a bit crowded with the inclusion of two lovely upholstered chairs and a little table. Very nice in concept but not practical in a room this size. Removing a chair in favor of a more functional table or chest would be better. We had two people per room so resorted to using the chairs as luggage storage because there was nowhere else to put bags. There was a furniture unit that was intended to function as a place to hang clothes, hold a suitcase, enclose the safe and be the coffee pot area. Definitely efficient but not large enough for two people with one small bag and backpack each. Because there were two of us, I asked for a folding luggage stand. I was told they didn't have one, but I could use the aforementioned furniture unit.
All the staff at the hotel are wonderful. The hotel rooms and common areas including restaurants and bars are cozy, beautiful and well appointed.
Pillows were a wee bit hard.
The location and the general interior of the hotel
Some of the dinner menu was not available. Starter on one occasion was v poor
This is a lovely hotel. Staff was wonderful and friendly. We were only there for one night but wished it had been more!
Somewhat upscale hotel right in the heart of Kenmare. Near lots of shops, pubs and restaurants. Kind and helpful staff. While the parking lot is small, it's included in the price. Great place for doing day trips around Co. Kerry.
Parking can be a challenge, and the beds may not be to everyone's taste — very soft. Lots of stairs as well, so those needing good accessibility may want to look elsewhere, or be very precise in your booking.
The location was good and the staff were very friendly.
There was a mix up in rooms but it was resolved. The restaurant was closed for the 2 days that I stayed
Dinner and breakfast were both lovely, location. was perfect in the centre of the town with shops and bars within easy walk.Overall we had a lovely relaxing weekend.
Ensuite was a little on the small side but was manageable.
