Talbot Hotel Midleton

Location and lovely staff.

Room was a bit too warm. Sink was broken but we were moved to another room and very kindly given breakfast vouchers for the bother.

Rooms were spotlessly clean. Bathrooms very clean Breakfast sufficient although unremarkable.

Room uncomfortably hot throughout the night. Heating on all night and thermostatic valve broken on radiator, night porter tried unsuccessfully, to turn it off.Room furniture very basic. ,

Really nice hotel and close to lots in the town. The staff were excellent, extremely friendly and polite, from Eva at the front desk on check in, to the night staff who were great banter and the staff working in the breakfast area. They absolutely made the stay really welcoming.

The food wasn’t great. I ordered roast of the day on Friday evening; the turkey was a bit dry and the chips unfortunately were the frozen type. Breakfast was okay, I went for breakfast around 8.30 expecting everything to be fresh per se but I guess I got what was left from the first turn out, hot food was luke warm and meats were dried out. I know the rest of my friends were up a little later and got their breakfast and they had no complaints saying it was piping hot. I guess I just was unlucky with the time I went down.

Child and family friendly, staff lovely and helpful, rooms big and specious, everything clean and tidy, pool was busy but still enjoyable, restaurant exceptional same as breakfast in room, would love to come back

Central enough in Midleton. I only stayed overnight, so I didn't see any of the facilities. I arrived late, but the staff were really helpful. The room warm and welcoming, and the bed was really comfortable. I slept soundly all night

Clean bathrooms

I would recommend getting new pillows. Ours we old, hard and firm, very uncomfortable. We wished there was AC. And there was a big squashed bug on our wall up high, pretty gross. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks at the bar/restaurant.

We really enjoyed our stay, the breakfast was lively and had lots of choice. It was a large family gathering and your staff were able to open a side room, set it up and allow us all to have food in there! There was lots of choice in the menu and the food was delicious.

Maybe the location …

The beds were not comfortable far too soft - quite dated. Some staff were friendly but on our check out day the person at the desk made me feel like I was “disturbing her”

Room was filthy , disturbing looking dirt/faeces on un cleaned floor in bathroom. Curtains covered in stains and food or something stuck to curtains

Location at top side of town. Easy to walk into town. Parking onsite was good too.Staff responded promptly to requests.

Could have been dusted before we arrived.

The foyernis beautiful, as is the bar & restaurant. The rooms are also very nice. The pool is shabby & is need of some serious work.

The room was spacious, comfortable. The bed was very comfortable

No hot water the following morning due to a boiler issue, was given no token of an an apology. No sky channels on the television, no television on in the bar. The breakfast was only average - despite a large selection the food was barely warm.

Lovely hotel, have stayed here a few times and it has been great every time. Great bar in the hotel with fantastic food. Very comfy bed and clean and big rooms.
