Pros +
- Room wss spacious. Spotless. All staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Good choice of food for breakfast.
- Old manor vibe, close to Dublin, reasonable price and free parking.
- The room was very clean and well laid out, with a comfortable bed, good lighting, and plenty of power sockets near the bed. I appreciated the strong natural light during the day and the practical workspace. Staff were friendly, professional, and check-in was quick and smooth.
Cons -
- Only towel rad for heat in bathroom. It was cold. Really minor thing.
- All good.
- The electric shower frequently lost hot water, and noise insulation was poor, with sounds from other rooms and the corridor. Given the €130 price point, the room felt overpriced.

The receptionist was helpful & understanding of my decision not to stay. That was the only staff I saw..
It was awful , I didn't stay here . The roo s are far away from the main house in converted stabling/sheds. Not where I thought they would be. The walls were paper thin , I could hear every single word the woman jn the room next door was saying. Felt really run down , smell of damp & very very dated. Not as in good dates as you would expect from a'manor House,'. You're asked for a €150 deposit on checking in & told you are not allowed to eat in your room. Everywhere was poorly lit indoors & outdoors. Restaurant & bar deserted *& uninviting. The receptionist was helpful & understanding of my decision not to stay. That was the only staff I saw. I arrived at night & the whole experience was most disconcerting.
Amazing quiet location, very cosy room, exceptional quality of bed clothes. Thank you very much!!!
All was perfect, thank you!!!
Staff were friendly
Room was very cold on check in (about 6pm). I reported to reception and was told it hearing was in a timer and it would come on in an hour. It did, and then room was fine.
Lovely stay. Everything was lovely
Parts of breakfast were a little cold but a good spread overall - lovely staff also
Courtyard rooms are excellent size and lovely and quiet. Well maintained manor house a charm. Good breakfast. Great value stay for money.
Dining option fairly basic. Tables are in bar area.
Friendly staff comfortable bed quiet location good food
Found it cold in all areas of the Manor House. Not sure about the courtyard rooms however
The value for what you get was excellent. We only stayed two nights, but it was easy to get downtown on a bus. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, definitely recommend updating to a room that includes it.
I wish Goldengirl had a friend. ? She must be so lonely. And the Victorian gardens are closed, that was a bit of a bummer.
Beautiful setting and in walking distance to the town
Room was very warm and a little stuffy initially. Turned down radiator and opened window. As on ground floor did not want to leave window open all night.
The grounds very pretty
Cold and damp room on arrival, very dated rooms, well needed refurbishment, fire alarm went off several times in the night and unable to contact reception. Pointless complaining management very dismissive.
I didn't avail of breakfast this time but it's a basic breakfast nothing special
The gutter outside our bedroom must have been leaking so it was dripping all night which was annoying the plumbing is very old so it takes awhile for the toilet to refill when the hot water in the tap gets hot it is boiling The television was tiny in the room At the bar I had a vodka went to order a 2nd one and there was no vodka left
Nice room and very comfortable bed.
I was in the courtyard rooms, and the room was not that warm. It was 0⁰c outside. The radiator was tepid and barely warm. I said it to reception and they gave me a portable electric heater. It was noisy, but it brought the temperature of the room up. I didn't want to use it overnight, so I had a hot water bottle for my bed. The second night, I just used the hot water bottle and I was nice and warm in bed. If the radiator was a little bit hotter, I'm sure it would heat the room sufficiently.
In a nice quiet location. Staff extremely friendly and a great breakfast.
I stayed in one of the courtyard rooms. The walls are so thin I could easily hear people in the next room talking and also being able to hear the person above going to the toilet which was not particularly nice. Also very noisy water system. Not much space in the room. Could not really use the desk as the chair would not pull out enough due to the bedside cabinet
This hotel was spotless. The room was spacious and the bathroom was lovely
The decor wasn't in keeping with a Manor. It was spotless but if it was done up in keeping with a Manor it would be amazing
Location was fabulous and the scenery was beautiful. Overall very presentable, if a little dated, but it was in need of some upgrades.
In general we felt it was clean but my husband found what resembled sand/grit/crumbs in the bed none of which we brought in.
I enjoyed my short stay. The staff were great, the food was excellent and the room was comfy. There was plenty of free parking too and I felt comfortable leaving my car there.
I had to get up at 5.30am to go to work. I'd loved to have stayed on in my comfy bed.
Room was excellent. Food was very good. Parking is good. Staff very pleasant.
Very comfortable bed. Very clean. Lovely staff.
I have only one fault. Not enough pillows.
