- Fabulous service, beautiful facilities. The breakfast, included, was an experience and so tasty. Dined in the evening, reasonably priced, delicious and relaxing atmosphere. They think of everything and don¿t want you to lift a finger. Lovely!!!

- Beautiful castle and golf course/ grounds. Very helpful staff and excellent breakfast.
Cons -
- We didnt get til see into the castle due to an event and they only have dinner hours in the castle on weekends.
- The food in the bistro and the clubhouse was a bit of a letdown. It was perfectly adequate, but it was nothing spectacular and didn’t quite live up to everything else that this property has to offer.
- Only glitch was another guest banging on our door at 2 a.m., not knowing she had the wrong room. That led to a sleepless night, but we certainly can't blame the hotel for another guest's mistake.

Beautiful castle and golf course/ grounds. Very helpful staff and excellent breakfast.
Every single number of staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. When you have every interaction be so positive, it makes it clear that this is an employer that treats their employees very well which is reflected in their work and how they interact with guests. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms were well appointed, and all we were very pleased with our stay.

After a busy week in Ireland for our wedding, we appreciated a few days in the serene countryside, just the two of us. Kilkea Castle offered a chill space to unwind, but with enough activities to keep us entertained. The spa is fantastic, the falconry experience offered an unforgettable splurge, and the food was excellent. We had made a reservation for a "fancy" honeymoon dinner at the higher-end 1180 restaurant, but enjoyed the more casual Hermione's so much on the first night we re-booked our celebratory dinner there.
Only glitch was another guest banging on our door at 2 a.m., not knowing she had the wrong room. That led to a sleepless night, but we certainly can't blame the hotel for another guest's mistake.
Fabulous setting; wonderful decor; lovely breakfast!
Beautiful castle, staff, rooms, smell,
Beautiful grounds, great golf and very relaxing!!
They may not availability for meals meaning you must eat elsewhere. The spa services were great but the spa pools were not as nice as expected for the resort.
The grounds are superb, that they kept as much of the old charm as possible, fairytale setting Staff were amazing and extremely helpful. Went out of their way to accommodate our requests
Carpets were tired and in need of a good clean or replacement Rooms can get stuffy, wanted to open windows first night but party outside our window prevented this. Was woken by loud cheering and cigar smoke wafting into our room so were forced to shut the windows sadly. Only option for air was a loud fan. No USB ports / phone charging ports no quiet hours. Party downstairs was still going on at 2:15am when I was awoken again!strange air fresheners throughout inside of property- not good if you have odour sensitivities like I doBed linens were scratchy. Definitely not the quality I would have expected. mattress quality also not good. Room was advertised as ‘lap of luxury’. I’m not sure about that. 1180 dinner not as expected. Micro servings and just ok. Very very pricey for what you get and flavours were lacking Coffee station was poorly serviced. Had to ask both mornings for more hot coffee as they were empty as well as cups and milk.
After an 8hr flight, learning to drive, and making the daunting ride from Dublin, our first stop was Kilkea Castle. From the moment we pulled in, all of our anxieties and stress of the day melted. Kilkea more than exceeded our expectations and set the tone for our 2 week Ireland bucket list adventure. The restaurant was wonderful, the service impeccable, the grounds serene and our room was absolutely perfect. The updated bathroom was AMAZING. Nothing was more relaxing than being able to open our window, and listen to the rain fall. Our room was not quite ready, so we got a tour and history lesson from Christian - who stole our hearts with his warmth and kindness. And breakfast, get the pancakes - unbelievable! My only regret, I did not get to stay longer.
It was absolutely beautiful. Loved walking the grounds. The spa was spectacular & so relaxing.Food was delicious.
Coffee at breakfast was not hot enough. But the coffee in reception area was.Only one restaurant opened and we were there a few days. Would have liked if the menu rotated choices each day.
The bed was large and very comfy. The castle and grounds amazing. Breakfast was good
The check in host was not very nice but all the other staff were great
Breakfast area was beautiful area and comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious
Coffee could have been warmer
Everything was excellent. The breakfasts in restaurant 1180 were great. The property was stunning and beautiful. The staff was above and beyond. They all deserve a raise. The umbrellas were a life saver.
Some of dinners in the Hermione’s restaurant were bland and lacking in flavor, but the staff was great and very friendly. The grounds were beautiful and I would have to search very hard to find anything negative about this place. Well done!
The property was great we had a very good time there wife had a spa day we walked the gardens the bartender was hilarious and kept us entertained till we went to bed gorgeous entrance to the hotel
Apparently the trails leaving the driving range to the picnic area has had its share of issues with a property owner he has motion sensors set up that will spray the trail and if ur not paying attention you will get hit with one or the other, i noticed the entry ways to our room wasn’t structurally sound i guess you would say the rooms didnt have any ac which i know now ac is not a common thing there in Ireland the wife and i were sweating throughout the night waking up ending up ontop of the covers
The Castle is an easy drive from Dublin and is beautiful. It is a full service hotel owned by an American company (Cashmans) and has two lovely restaurants (one casual in the club house and one for romantic dinners on the second floor of the castle), a spa, golf course and exquisite grounds. We visited in August and everything was in full bloom. Props to the landscape team! Of note is the human-sized chess board and secret sitting areas tucked away where one can sit, enjoy a glass of wine under a willow tree by a babbling brook. We stayed at the Lodge. The room was nice. We voted this castle as having the best bed and pillows of our two week trip! Although the bathroom is not large, it is well appointed. Toiletries are Elemis Relax and Rejuvenate and the towels are fluffy. It is nice couples escape. Overall, the staff was polite, and special recognition to the bartender and breakfast staff. The young man greeting new guests when entering the castle was also polite and pleasureable. Spa prices appeared reasonable and the product offerings were good. The breakfast was outstanding. We had scrambled eggs with Salmon and avocado toast. If you dine at the clubhouse, save room for dessert!
Unfortunately, our room had a very strong dog odor. We both love our dogs but wished the cleaning staff had taken extra care to remove the odor. No one wants to spend a night sniffing someone else’s wet dog! Also, the staff should inquire if one is allergic to animals before randomly assigning a room that allows animals. I had reserved a falconry session in early March for our August visit. The hotel had to cancel in June due to unforeseen circumstances with the falconer. Of course we understood but asked if anything changed to please let us know. We were assured that we would be notified. We were so excited by that offering! A week before our reservation, we received a marketing email from the Castle promoting falconry. I immediately emailed to see what times were available. We were told the services were already fully booked. That was a disappointment and for a hotel of this caliber, we expect more from customer services. If you book something at the Castle, double- and triple-check your reservation and availability!
Breakfast was wonderful and we loved dining in the drawing room. The food & tea were delicious and the servers were kind and friendly.
We liked everything about the breakfast service!
Beautiful and well kept gardens and grounds. Excellent staff and service. Lots of authentic and original pieces of the castle.
Rooms are outdated and need refurbished. Shower head broke off while being used in the shower.
Falconry!
No A in rooms. Only very small windows. Was a warm night.
The elegance of a castle with the most kind and friendly staff made the stay a huge memorable treat for our family! There was a wedding party; the staff didn’t over look us! They were still attentive though the volume took over the bar.
The steak. This can be fixed; but none of us has had such a horrible steak that was all grizzle. Such a disappointment for the 5 of us who had steak.
