Altavilla Boutique Hotel

Breakfast always had fresh fruit, fruit juices and home baked cakes, and most days the cakes were baked that same morning. And always delicious. Entire hotel was super clean and cleaning staff were very pleasant. Luca and Andrea at the reception desk were always congenial and as helpful as possible. Andrea went out of his way to make some phone calls for me to get a massage. First studio was booked up but we fortunately were able to make an appointment with the studio just a few minutes up the street with Salvatore. His Hawaiian massage technique and his spiritual approach to life will not be for everyone, but if you are adventuresome and like massages, you should definitely check it out. There is a poster about it in the vestibule in the lobby behind the elevator, or ask Andrea about it and to help you make the appointment.

Loved this place. Fantastic staff that went out of its way to ensure I had a great visit. Can't beat the location. Lovely breakfast.

What a gorgeous property!! Perfect walking location to everything. Hugs high ceilings and spacious rooms with a spectacular bathroom and one of the biggest bathtubs ever! Amazingly kind and helpful staff and we even met the owner who has beautifully designed and cared for the property. If we come back to this area, we would ONLY stay here and nowhere else!!

Spacious and well equipped room which was regularly cleaned and close to town.

Lacklustre staff, two issues with the room leaving me unable to take a bath or secure valuables in the safe, neither were rectified throughout my stay.

The facilities and room were very clean. Definitely one of the cleanest I've ever visited! The staff was definitely welcoming.

The air conditioning unit was very noisy, including during the night. I could not find a way to stop it. Sometimes in the afternoon the staff left the hotel with a note stating they were in "SMART" mode. I had to phone the staff and wait for 15 minutes to access the hotel on one occasion, while the following day they went as far as providing me with the keys to the front door and a recommendation to close it when leaving. This contravenes the 4-star rating requiring staff on premises 24h.

There was a private patio with our room, but it hadn’t been cleaned or prepared at all.

Was reluctant to even go to Cantanzaro, but wow were we wrong! This has been the best out of Venice and Sicily! This place feels more like family, relaxing, friendly, authentic and just left feeling our hearts so full. Our photos of meeting the wonderful people tell it all. This hotel is literally like being home, the staff really made the stay the best. We got the most out of our stay due to the great staff, especially Luca!They were very accommodating, even gave us our family history from the area. They were willing to do research for us! And did! We used one of their recommendations for a private driver, francesco, from the train station and back. They also provided a private day tour, with excellent suggestions , the price here is wow, get way more for your money here. We will be back! The food in this town was the best so far and the location is great. We were able to explore the area and felt completely safe. This place left an imprint on out hearts, and when we return to Italy, we will stay longer here at Altavila. The accommodations were top notch, quality materials in all the facilities and the breakfast was very good. They also give seals if you book directly but also take bookings website Rooms are small but efficient , we fit comfortably, 4 of is in a king size bed with an extra cot. Not really a negative, the place is very well maintained, clean, updated. We visited Cicala and Mancuso Village which was so much fun and cool off in the Forest.Mountains, parks, city, ocean, beach all in one place at awesome prices!!!!

Fantastic hotel and people! One of the best stays in Italy!Special thank to Luca, Calabrian Adriano Celentano ? who was amazing host - for the attention, advices, help and delicious omlet and cappuccino for our breakfast! All this made our travel experience in Calabria unforgettable!

clean modern little hotel

Small room. Breakfast (kind of minimalitstic) to be paid extra, not worth the relatively high cost.
