Errigal Country House Hotel

- Wonderful hotel in the middle of Cavan country side, a few minutes drive from Cootehill town- My room was very big, plenty of space and a nice table with big LCD TV hanged on the wall with usual TV channels- Nice nice view of the surrounding landscape from the room, nice!- Big bathroom, however the bath tub was designated as shower...not great- Nice staff at the restaurant that was located inside the hotel- Good WiFi coverage in the room and nice TV hanged to the wall- The bed was very big...

- The bed wasn't very comfortable, too soft (old?) mattress type- The air conditioner in my room was not working properly, I reported that at the reception twice...nothing was done though to check it out, so the room was a bit cold- Disappointed by breakfast: it didn't offer buffet, not much variety either, so no croissant, no muffin, no cakes, no biscuits, no cheese, cured meat whatsoever, just some cereals, some plain bread, some fruit juice (from concentrate) that, honestly, was tasting very fake. Home made by the hotel seemed some some glasses of white yogurt with some fruit on top. The main focus was just on the usual (boring) Irish breakfast, even though there was a choice for full vegetarian one. Since there was no buffet, the breakfast had to be ordered at the table, at least was freshly prepared. Overall, I'd have expected much better breakfast offer from this hotel- The restaurant didn't offer much variety of meals...

Room was spacious, staff was very friendly, breakfast options great and dinner decent as well.

The area outside our room was a bit noisy, our room seemed to be located above a bin area and a lot of glass bottles were being disposed during our 1-night stay.

The staff and the hotel rooms are great. As usual, if you rent a car it is great to be on the edge of a town/city. Free parking. Quiet area. Nice to walk around, etc.

Great location , good value for money and excellent food

Even though the hotel wasn’t full as a single business traveler I was allocated a disabled room at the back of the hotel overlooking noisy heating and ventilation vents The male server in the restaurant was very rude , unfriendly and unprofessional.( his female colleague was excellent)

Hotel was superb and staff excellent. Room also was excellent. Went for dinner at the launch of new restaurant and everything (food, staff, atmosphere) was amazing.

Hotel was superb but very quiet, no room for people watching. I missed having an area to sit and chill at a low table/ lounge area. I know the entrance foyer had some lounge tables and seats but were very conspicuous. Wandered into Cootehill and was disappointed in attractions, felt like we were biding our time until the evening. If the small area outside the bar was more relaxed with lower tables and soft seats to chill I feel this would help. Sorry about saying all this; it was a dreary day. We did still enjoy our stay.

Possibly the best accommodation if your destination is Cootehill in Cavan. While a short distance out of town, it is handy enough. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the in-house ‘pub food’ is satisfactory.

Noise transmission between rooms was noticeable

Bed was really comfortable.

Non-slip mat in the shower was filthy. WiFi was non existent. Only a skylight for natural light. Air conditioning unit was broken.

Food was very good, and the beer was nice

There was no hot water for a shower,the bath tap was dripping all night,I went out for a smoke and the keycard wouldn't let me back in and the breakfast was slow and like rubber

We stayed for a family wedding which went very well. My only complaint was the main course was well over done, this was the same for five others at my table, as it was my nieces wedding we did not complain.

Bar food and breakfast were delicious. Bed very comfy, nice, bright room with a balcony. The room was spacious. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Spa was amazing, the staff were so nice, I had a fabulous facial and wash and blow dry. Definitely recommend the spa

The air condition did not work. Rooms very warm at night time, window was opened but still very hot. Lights were very poor in the room.

The room wee got upgraded too was very nice, the guy who i think was the bar manager was also very nice.

No entertainment in the bar, and spa booked out. Could be doing with hot tub steam room etc. no proper smoking area. Our room wasnt great, air con broke and no window, step was broke, lamp was broke, 3 channels working on tv, chips on the wall and the room was full of flys, and when we rang about it they came up with fly spray which you cant use with my wifes lung condition so they then moved us room. Went for breakfast at 7am and the place in darkness to be then told breakfast isnt untill 8am, even though its says 7am on my booking and says 7am on the signs everywhere in the hotel, Guiness terrible aswell.

Lovely location. Staff were lovely. Room was a great size and beds were comfy. Only complaint was the shower wasn’t great but overall great stay.

The staff were lovely .. but not enough of them so service was a bit slow . Waiting ages for the food at dinner and breakfast. The beds were so comfortable. The wheelchair access was brilliant for my mother . And staff were very accommodating.

The food was beautiful and the staff were friendly and helpful and went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. Would like to say all staff were excellent but a special mention to Brenda who made our anniversary meal extra special with her hospitality, charm and kindness.

Room was a bit tired in appearance and the bed was extremely hard and for us uncomfortable.

The breakfast was not presented good it did not look very appealing. And it was like it was microwaved.

Waitress on breakfast & again at funeral meal - has a lovely pleasant, warm, accommodating manner.I did not get her name but a valued.member of staff ..So important to the hotel & customer.
