Castello Bonaria Wine & Spa Resort

My stay at Castello Bonaria was truly unforgettable. I had the privilege of staying in one of the castle’s original towers, a detail that made the experience even more authentic and special, as the others have been reconstructed. It was also my first time visiting a vineyard, and being able to witness the wine production process up close in such a charming place was truly remarkable. Tasting traditional and carefully selected wines made the experience even more unique.The hotel provides all the support needed for a complete and relaxing stay. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the staff, who were always attentive and kind. The room, both spacious and cozy, stood out for its immaculate cleanliness and its elegant, harmoniously designed décor.Breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, and the staff were always ready to help with a smile. The dinners were excellent, always accompanied by an exquisite selection of local wines — a true celebration of flavor and refinement.I hope to return soon to relive this wonderful experience and once again enjoy the delightful wines from the Monte Solaio winery while watching the sunset over the valley — a breathtaking view that stays in the heart.

Very beautiful and clean and quiet with a great restaurant and amazing spa. Very helpful staff!

The hotel looks one of the best in this area. The room was comfortable, pleasant area around the hotel, there is parking.

The spa closes early, around 5 p.m. During our stay, there was a birthday celebration with a DJ playing loud music by the pool. That was already quite noisy, but it got worse — they started fireworks around midnight. It was extremely loud and woke me up. After that, I could barely get back to sleep. We were not informed about this party coming neither when we did the booking, nor at the hotel. No excuses in the morning. Also it looked like they do not have enough of staff. There were 2 waiters for the whole restaurant and the party, waiters were in a hurry, running around a looking really stressed.

Wonderful setting and the spa was really nice.

It was described as an authentic castle but in fact is just a newer hotel made to look like one. The restaurant was nice but could have had more options for people with food sensitivities. For example, my wife does not eat seafood, which made ordering difficult.

The staff was very friendly! The rooms were clean, the general atmospher was nice.

Even though the breakfast was big, they could do variations from time to time

We loved our stay. The room was comfy and the little terrace in the back very cute. We appreciated the delicious and rich breakfast. Special mention for the staff - they were all so nice and welcoming.

Really only one thing to mention: there was an event one evening and we would have appreciated being informed in advance as the music was a bit loud.

Breakfast was excellent Breakfast staff and both receptionists were excellent Lady at the wine shop was brilliant too

Dinner service a little erratic Patio( on side of hotel ) has good views but needed softening with some umbrellas and plants needed watering ( most were dead )

This a beautiful property with stunning views of the surrounding countryside down to the sea. The room was very comfortable with lovely outdoor space. The food at breakfast and dinner was delicious. There were lots of communal spaces to also sit in during the day and evening.

The rooms were incredibly small even for European standards. I had to book a second room upon arrival since they were so small. There was construction going on starting at 7 AM. Assistance with luggage was nonexistent. Staff was not very friendly.

Nice little hotel on top of a hill, built like a modern castle. Very nice large swimming pool. Friendly staff and good restaurant. The surrounding parc invites for a little stroll.

The spa landscape is limited to eight people at a time, hence seem to be very small, and we unfortunately could not use it as it was already full.

Excellent setting and fabulous view. Very kind service. Meals of high quality and at a reasonable price. Breakfast is beyond expectations.

Wellness section is accessible at extra cost, which is bizarre from a wellness hotel. The meals selection is very focused on seafood and fish and rather limited, given that there are no alternatives nearby, so if you stay for several days and eat in, you will exhaust the menu rather quickly.

What a wonderful stay, everything is exceptional!!! Breakfast in the restaurant is amazing! Room with the backyard, team were friendly and helpful!!!

a very special place w fantastic views and ambiente. really exceptionel service. We only stayed for one night, arrived just before midnight, and still got served a glas of proseco on the beautyful terrace while everyone else was already in bed...

exceptional breakfaat serves by waiter ata table overlooking the sea w island Elba in the back. Very hard to beat and clearly a bargain deal!

Nada de nada

Beautiful resort, lovely place where you can relax. The rooms are confortable, the shower is lovely and enjoyable. We had a room at the separate building, we had a lovely terrace - we enjoyed the stars at night. They have lovely breakfast . The restaurant is with very good food and attentive waiters.

The womans from the reception could be a little bit more ready to help.

No atmosphere & limited food options.

The staff made our holiday. Along with fantastic food and wine. We did a cookery course with the Head Chef 'V', which was great fun, really informative, and made for a delicious lunch served with wine from the vineyard. The rooms were clean and really comfortable with a lovely outside veranda space. The pool area is also fabulous, which we thoroughly enjoyed after days exploring the lical area.
