    Pros +

    • I loved my little one man room. Immaculately clean, well maintained, silent and with a view of trees. It looked like the Vincent Van Gogh room, from the famous painting and I was immediately charmed by it. My stay here was excellent. I had to recuperate from a 6 day intensive bike ride and I couldn’t have imagined a better place to be. They also have a restaurant, and it’s “fine cuisine Italian cuisine”. I recommend eating here. I decided to stay a second day and also visit the abbey nearby. The owners are so sweet, gentle and helpful. In fact I think they are angels. Very grateful to have found this place. It felt like a gift!
    • Spacious room with great bathroom.
    • Great quiet location, with amazing views over the Tuscan hills.Lovely breakfast every morning, and we had dinner in the restaurant as well, which was also great! Perfect place for a few days in Tuscany

    Cons -

    • The illumination of the room is very poor. The light bulb was burnt out of left side of the bed. You can’t see good inside the wardrobe without a flash light, there is no light in front of it!,
    • Everything was great :)
    • The single bed was kinda short.

The food. Breakfast was sumptious and if you opt for dinner, you will not be disappointed. Wifi worked very well and the room was well heated.

The single bed was kinda short.

    The location

    - really bad breakfast (bread, cane were not fresh, no fresh fruits, no yoghurt)- loud in the night/morning - very old Appartment, need to be renovated especially the shower. Somehow it was really nasty

The Hotel was very clean and in a quiet location. The breakfast was small but carefully prepared. The owner was very polite and helpful

It was a little difficult to find the facility. There is no place nearby. Restaurants were closed on Wednesday. I had to look for food late at night.

Great natural surrounding; good food; and wine from the nearby monastery.

Piccolo Hotel San Valentino is set on top of a hill in the middle of the fairytale Val d'Orcia. Among cypress trees, olive groves and crete senesi. The Abbey of San Oliveto Maggiore is about a kilometre away. The hotel has a restaurant, but it closes in the evening, so it's completely quiet at night - the nearest village is several kilometres away. For breakfast we got everything we wanted: there was sheep's cheese, all sorts of spreads, yoghurts, prosciutto if you wanted it and several types of pastries. The room was not large but comfortable, the wi-fi worked, there are mosquito nets on the windows - although there are not many around the hotel, and the room is air-conditioned. We were able to visit a classical music festival in nearby Asciano. And of course all the staff were extremely friendly and willing to help.

I'm sorry, but I can't think of anything that bothered me.

It is a very nice secluded property that gives you a sense of living in Tuscany. We enjoyed our stay, breakfast, and the friendliness of the staff.

Very nice staff. Decent breakfast.Good location.Room made up daily

No area to relax in outside the bedroom. Bedroom was very small.4 or 5 Cats hanging around in the outdoor dining spaces. Air con didn’t really cool the room.Map of the local area would have been useful.

A beautiful building located in a beautiful and quiet area of Tuscany. The hotel restaurant is excellent.

The room we got was dirty and not well maintained with a heavy smell of mold, without mosquito nets on the windows and an air conditioner that did not work on cooling despite the hotel's promise to take care of the problem. Poor breakfast, Very disappointing.

Location was perfect after hectic Florence &, Venice, & Rome. Quiet, peaceful, & only a stone's throw from the Abbey. The on-site restaurant had wonderful food, & many choices for breakfast. And we loved the cats!

    Nothing :-)

It's a beautiful place in a lovely location. The staff is very friendly and helpful

The furniture is a bit old but fancy and the mattresses are a bit narrow

Best location in the middle of Tuscany and in the middle of nowhere. Big terrace and good restaurant on side. Very friendly staff!

Twelve years ago we stayed at Piccolo and loved it. It was even better this time. The rural location is quiet with beautiful, classic Tuscan views. The restaurant is superb. The staff is very accommodating. Some extended family also run the restaurant at the nearby monastery and it is worth a visit as well. If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful location to relax, stay here!

    I loved everything!

good location for visiting a local Abbey

I suspect that we were the first tourists of the season because the room (bedside tables/lamps etc) was rather dusty
