Cons -
- Upon arrival, the staff seemed indifferent to us and when we asked about the spa we were told we needed to make a 24 hour ahead appointment. I ask if it was possible to see if we could visit we were told flatly “no” without even trying to call the spa to see if it was possible.
- Getting to Hotel San Miniato from the train station requires a taxi.
- Bedroom could be more confortable

The room was nice and clean with a large comfortable bed, and free bottled water. The all-included breakfast was magnificent. It had everything from yogurt and museli, to fancy cakes, to cheese and meats. There is a barista for making coffee. I had three cappuccinos. What a perfect way to start the day in a Tuscan town.

Location and breakfast, staff very friendly

Very nice building and amazing breakfast, so many choices and great quality.
I did feel welcomed as one might expect arriving in Tuscany. But this is just my personal perception and experience. Everything was ok after all.
Superb
room was next to fire escape which was very noisy when opened around 6.30am
Whilst the staff and property were lovely - one of the double rooms with a view we booked ( based on the photos for that style of room) was nothing like it - a tiny window up highly you had to stand in your toes to see out. (Room 204). Felt very much like false advertising, if 204 is also a standard room - then include photos of it, and it’s ‘window’ so people are aware that’s also an option they may be allocated.
Location, personnel, food.
I did love my room and the mattress. The towels rails in the bathroom were great to dry my socks for the next day.The breakfast buffet is fantastic. So many things you can select.
Stunning building. We stayed in the Dependence and had a terrace with amazing views. The breakfast was exquisite
- Location is amazing, also pretty easy to get to.- Staff is kind and helpful.- Breakfast is great!
- My Room was not well insulated, and there was a constant noise that last the whole night. Not a problem for me, per se, as I’d sleep anywhere, but it may be an issue for some.
Great location and massive room ! Fascinating building with private parking in the hotel courtyard .
Shower needs replacing
We were here for the San Miniato truffle festival and this place was conveniently located.
The rooms are dated and noisy, you can hear activities happening above, below, and outside, even text messages your upstairs neighbors are getting at 3am.
Great hotel with perfect location to explore Tuscany both by car and to take the train to either Pisa or Florence. The hotel is family run and the breakfast is really, really good. San Miniato Alto also has great places to eat within a short walk.
Only bright side is lady working at lobby reception counter.
Ok, where to start…- arrived in hotel and first surprise was that we were located at depadanse part that is not directly connected to the main building. Thought, ok… it is ex church so it would be difficult to be connected bit still O would expect that in 4 star hotel. Also, it would be expected that customer is informed about this before arrival. Still, room has been same as onboard booking so we said ok.- when we enter room the immediate felling was very warm. Tried to reduce temp on remote but it continued heating like is Christmas in Dolomites.- once settled down, went to refresh myself into bathroom and immediately realized that sink is blocked and it is not draining.-wife tired to switch on TV but it had 2 remotes and was asking to scan/program tv. I would expect better for 4 star hotel.- went down to reception and asked lady to sole issues while we are on dinner in town.-on return back to hotel, lady did told u that she managed to add some acid to sink and now should be ok (and was better - thank you dear kind lady). Also she explained us that there are 2 TV remotes, one for turn on tv and another for to change channels- again, not something that I would expect in this hotel class, but fine. I recommend to leave instructions in the room. However, it would be expected in 4 star hotel to have janitor who is dealing with this kind of issues and not receptionist lady.- because we couldn’t control temperature in the room, we had to seep with open window, that resulted a lot of mosquitoes in room, but it seems like they are used to it as on desk in room there is anti-mosquitoes electrical aid with cartridges, so get it plugged in before you go sleep.- this would work fine if room had electrical power at all times but unfortunately around 0600 morning we have been waken up by emergency light flashing into our heads because there basically black out in room.
The building itself has a great historical value and a lovely view. Breakfast was excellent.
The Junior suite was just a bigger room. We had the idea it had been cleaned very hastily and not too carefully. Receptionists were not particularly helpful.
Old style and old world. Great breakfast
Hot tub not working.
very spacious and comfortable room, great breakfast, good value
