Hotel Spinelli

Very good breakfast by Italian standard (good artisan bread, croassant, bakery goods, yoghurt, eggs, bacon - but no beans nor non-dairy yoghurt). Barrista made Coffe included: excellent capuccino. Calm quiet area close to the canal. Less than 10 min to the main beach promenade with great restaurants. Also close to the lovely forest for a nice walk though it to the free beach. Less than 5 min to local grocery store. 25 min walk to train station. Nearby towns of Pisa and Lucca are well worth visiting, with frequent train schedule and good price. The staff was all very friendly and helpful and most spoke good english (reception & breakfast). Cleaning every day. Oh, and the bed and pillows was super comfortable, pretty firm but comfortable at the same time (perhaps a bit short if you are tall). They have a nice little outdoor area in a small yard/garden, that somewhat makes up for lack of balcony.

Would have liked beans and non-dairy yoghurt with breakfast. And as expected no particular view from the rooms and no balcony. Slightly short bed if you are a tall person. Sure I fit in it, but it was shorter than my bed at home.

The staff were brilliant. Always ready to help and always had a smile on their face. The hotel was small, which made it feel personal. At night the hotel was quiet and there was plenty of choice at breakfast.

If I had to pick one thing, it was the fact the hotel didn't have a pool. But I knew this before I booked.

I needed a quick escape from work and this hotel is very close to the marina. Located in a quiet area. The staff were very friendly and helpful.The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable.

Friendly and helpful management. Great location. Bikes available to rent. Close to beaches. We enjoyed cycling to the free beaches through the pine forest.

The breakfast was OK

The evening meal was disappointing. I understand that asking for gluten free was difficult but we expected Italian food which is cooked without flour not pasta with cheese sauce.

The staff was very nice and helpful and insured that we had a great stay. We had to leave early for a flight (about 6am) and were expecting to miss breakfast, but breakfast was out and ready and we were able to grab some togo food before our taxi ride.

It was too noisy so do not plan to go to bed before midnight or have good headphones.

The staff were absolutely lovely! Location wise the hotel is a short walk to the main parts but in a nice, quiet residential area. The room was pretty basic but clean and comfortable. The garden was a nice touch even though we didn’t really spend time there. Breakfast was basic but nice.

I couldn’t quite figure the AC out but since it’s early May, there wasn’t a big need for it. Just opened the windows instead.They ask that you give your key to the reception when you leave for a longer period of time, which is totally fine, but they also tell you to just take your key when you get back if nobody’s the reception. It’s probably fine and there was pretty much always somebody at the reception but it did make me feel a bit like anybody could get the key to my room.

Visiting during Carnival of Viareggio. Very close to the centre. Breakfast is good. Very friendly and helpful stuff. Parking found close by.

Nothing really to comment except maybe for the lift, extremely slow!

No car parking at the hotel, had to use a piblic car park nearby. No tea/coffee in the room. Stair bannisters needed attention around sharp edges and prootruding screws. Although the photos look attratictive the hotel is on a back street. Toilet needed a lot of effort to get it to flush.

This dog friendly hotel offers a convenient location, free parking and an excellent breakfast buffet with many homemade items. For dinner, although the menu is limited, the meals were delicious, prepared with fresh and regional ingredients.Best of all is the super friendly and helpful staff! We look forward to another trip to Viareggio and Hotel Spinelli.

Location was perfect on 2 mins from a restaurant and 5 mins to the marina. Staff were kind and welcoming. A spot on hotel that offers great value for money.

Nice personel. For instance good advice for a local guide to go to Carrara marble.

The toilet was uncomfortable with no space against the shower.Lift very very slowI asked two towels for the beach, and without any warning of cost they charges me in checkout (admittedly cut finally by half, but still).

really lovely cool garden and seated lounges at front entrance.Staff were very helpful and gave good local knows.Loved the bikes for hire so a ideal way to get the parks, beaches and Piazza.The buffet breakfast was really great, lots of fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries and cooked eggs, bacon, sausages, ham cheese etc also.Good size and refurbished rooms. Reasonably close walk to good eateries and canals and super yacht marinas I would definitely recommend Hotel Spinelli.

pillows were flat and bit hard.No kettle tea coffee making area in room
