The staff was awesome. They could not do enough for us. The hotel is centrally located and conveniently located to get everywhere.

Friendly and helpful staff! Great complimentary breakfast in the mornings. We stayed in the suite with the patio, sauna and hot tub! Short walk to lots of shops & restaurants

Beach and boardwalk were right across the street, the room was clean and the breakfast and spa facilities were great.

Great location - perfect for the carnevale. Our room was well appointed and we had a great view from our balcony. We were room 312 and the only room that may have been better would have been 311. We were delighted. Breakfast was very good.

I liked the professionalism of the check in service and the automatic upgrade. It was a short stay, and I've been there a few times during the summer. The internet service in the room was excellent for smart working. The room was very clean and comfortable especially the temperature. Housekeeping service was wondering!

I know the restaurant is independent from the hotel and under a new owner recently, but the dinner and breakfast service needs improvement. We were welcomed by the restaurant hostess for dinner who wore jeans and a shirt which didn't compliment the style and reputation of the hotel. It was a special evening and I felt let down seeing that the hotel offered this service. We were served a complimentary appetizer before dinner and I told the waiter that my fiancé is allergic to fish, the waiter said there's nothing he can do. The atmosphere is relaxing and very clean. The dishes were very tasty, compliments to the chef. The breakfast had little variety in means of hot dishes for tourists and the juices were in a different area. The breakfast set up could be improved to accommodate the elderly. The previous restaurant owners went above and beyond which was a perfect match for the hotel. I'm not sure if I want to return to the hotel if my dinner and breakfast is in this manner.

The gym is advertised, but with three people, it's full. There is an influx of people outside the hotel, so it's always full with three or four people. The late-night staff are not friendly and don't like to work if you ask for a drink! The bed has bugs that make you itchy all night!

Lovely location by the beach with a great breakfast and clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff.

The rooms were a little tired and could do with some upgrading.

Great hotel location, amazing stuff, just renovated gym, Art Deco ornaments, hotel bicycles.The room was decent with a small balcony and two separated rooms.

The shower being really tiny is the only thing that bothered me.

The hotel was in a nice location, close to the beach and promenade. The staff were helpful & friendly.

The hotel provided coffee & tea in the room but no milk and only paper cups (each cup wrapped in plastic). Also in the bathroom, only thin plastic cups instead of glass beakers. I didn’t like the smell of the soap in the bathroom, I wouldn’t normally mention this in a review but it really was an unpleasant smell. Unfortunately the hotel next door was being renovated, so lots of building work noise from 8:30 in the morning, drilling & banging.

The breakfast selection was very good. The room we had was compact and contemporary and was good for a couple of days.

Staff were lovely and very helpful - our airconditioning was leaking, we let the staff know and they responded immediately. When they weren't able to fix the problem we were upgraded to a suite free of charge! Facilities were good and room clean. Good range of food at breakfast.

The air conditioning is a bit noisy!

Perfect location, with restaurants, stores and beach clubs in a walking distance.Good breakfast and many options, staff are welcome and friendly.Nice beach club with chairs, umbrellas, swimming pool, toilets and showers, bar and restaurant (45€ per day).

Rooms are very small specially for us as a couple with a child. Not very accessible for buggy or disable people. Our Aircon was broken so the room was a bit hot. No parking spaces, you have to park on the street and it's very difficult to find a spot. No complimentary water for a 4 star hotel.

Great location and spacious room

No pool, we obviously knew this and thought that we would not mind, we used the beach a few times but the convenience of a pool for our 14yr old son we missed. It does not detract from a very enjoyable stay

Nice hotel with very good location, a few steps from the beach and the main street with shops and restaurants.Hotel staff very serviceminded!Perfect that the hotel has an agreement with beach clubs and arranged space and payment for us.The arrangement for street parking also worked well.

We enjoy coming to Viareggio and have stayed at a number of 3* & 4* hotels over the years. This was the second time at the Hotel Residence Esplanade.We like the location and family bedrooms, the fridge facility and sizeable safe was handy.

The bathroom / shower area was slightly cramped. The actual shower cubicle was also quite restrictive. Our actual room (Rear view) suffered from some drainage smells wafting in on a couple of occasions.

Location was perfect. Very close to all Viareggio attractions. The team was super friendly and helpful. We loved our stay.

Great location very close to the beach with its own beach club. Lovely breakfast. Beautiful hotel . Great to be able to hire bikes - Viareggio is brilliant for cycling as it has designated cycling paths well away from the road and it's all very flat. Professional staff and great customer service.
