Hotel Maximilian

Highly recommend this hotel!! GREAT location and free parking make this a perfect stay. Easy to move about with the parking lot directly in front of the hotel. We were able to change rooms to a more quite one with no issues. Breakfast is wonderful and all of the staff from the restaurant to the hotel were GREAT! Also the pizza in the restaurant is not to be missed!!

Great food at breakfast, very helpful staff to coordinate taxis, free bike loans, they even packed us a to-go breakfast when we had to check out at 5:30AM!

The AC in the room was a little bit temperamental - it cooled down the room but was difficult to maintain a constant temp so we kept blankets nearby when we slept.

Convenient location. Lovely dining rooms and swimming pool. Parking on site. Large balcony for our upgraded room.

The bathroom and shower placements were awkward. Very strange.

The room was at times too hot and parking was a problem because the hotel restorant (which shares the parking with the hotel) is full in the evening.

When we arrived in our room, we found worn down furniture, a dirty shower, a toilet that was seperated from the room only by a thin door and an AC that was constantly heating, no matter what we set at its control panel. After telling the receptionist about these issues, we were redirected to another room, which again had a dirty shower and open electrical wiring (as well as a broken lamp, but we were informed about this before). After another complaint we received an upgrade from superior to panorama room. This one again came with the questionable shower-in-room/thin-toilet-door situation which is not shown in any of this hotel's pictures... Also, the shower was rusty and calcified - but at least less than the ones we had before. After one night on an unconfortably hard mattress, we had a tasteless breakfast alon with a burnt coffe, which eased our decision to directly leave this place. The staff again reacted very polite and professional on this.Unfortunately, according to the staff, booking's cancellation policy did not allow for reimbursement. Lastly, we received a coupon worth about half the amount we paid, which is to be redeemed in one of the group's hotels. Given the experience we had at hotel maximilian, we dont think we will use it, as we dont expect their other hotels to be much better...In conclusion, we can say, that this hotel's photographer was much better than its architect and its receptionist was much better than the cleaning staff. Overall a bad experience, and no reason for us to recommend this place :(

The hotel was nice and the staff was helpful. I loved that they provided free bike rentals. Made exploring the area very manageable.

The bed was very uncomfortable which was the most disappointing part. Also I couldn’t get the room to cool down bc they had just turned off the air conditioning. But the staff did provide a fan for the room.

quirky hotel a good 25/30 minute walk from Bardolino great breakfasts, fabulous restaurant attached. Staff found me a mattress topper as it was so hard.

my superior lakeview room turned out to be a 'side lake view' meaning you only had a view if you stood up in the corner of the balcony. When asked to move was told nothing available so disappointed as husband spends time on the balcony due to health issues. Pillows very hard and cleaner not brilliant. However I would stay again with a proper lakeview.

Good location 10 minute walk and you are in Bardilino.,or few minutes in opposite direction and you are in Cisano, good restaurant in both location.The the restaurant on site is very good and staff very helpfull.Nice Swimming Pool. If you just want to relax for a while.

The rooms are a bit tight, but this is still a great shopping point if you are just staying a few nights they are airconditoned.

Rooms very clean and the cleaners were lovely!!! Clean towels every day. Restaurant has lovely food, especially the pizzas. Pool was clean and accessible. There was a fab man on the reception (think he was a manager) he was lovely and very accommodating.

The air con is set and isn’t any use in summer months. Far too hot and uncomfortable. Rooms very small. Although it’s clear the shower is not separate it’s not very practical. Lunch is served until 14:30- but closed randomly!!! So some days not available with no reason. There is also no bar snacks as advertised. So if you’re by the pool and want to eat it’s hit or miss. Other than one staff member and the cleaners the rest are quite rude especially the lady who runs the restaurant/allocates tables. The location isn’t ideal in hot summers- it’s a fair walk to bardolino (not their fault just for information).

Good sized room and bed. Balcony with view of the lake. Towels changed regularly, cheerful cleaning staff. Pool area at the back was a good size with plenty of loungers. Plenty of choices for buffet style breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Dominic who went out of his way to assist us. The hotel is decorated with lots of quirky touches which look great. Hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the centre of Bardolino and 5 mins from Cisano the other way- we liked this. Local buses easy to use to other nearby towns- about €2 whereas the water ferry is €9. Both great to see the area without a car.

The shower and sink were in the bedroom but had a curtain to screen them- didn’t detract from the overall comfort of room for us but some might find a bit odd!Large biker festival taking place opposite during our stay was very noisy till late for a weekend- would have appreciated being told of this by hotel in advance, even though it wouldn’t have changed our mind about staying there.
