Hotel San Carlo

The hotel is set in beautiful gardens with olive trees and has a great outdoor pool. There is a German style beer garden a short walk from the hotel serving roast meats and wurst, which is good if you like that sort of thing.

We booked an economy room which was compact and functional, as you'd expect. However the room was in need of updating - the shades on the bedside lamps were tatty and torn, the bathroom fittings are due for replacement and the extractor fan was so noisy it woke the other occupant up if you went to the loo in the night.Other than the beer garden, there aren't many restaurants nearby. There are a couple in other hotels and the only other one we found was booked solid for the whole evening.

The location, behind the main road and walking distance to the lake and restaurants. Everything was very new and the room Was small but the bed was very comfortable. Nice swimming pool

The main thing is staff upon check in that looked like they did not want to be there and we did not feel welcome. No smile or just a welcome greeting rather than a serious face looking at us as if we were a bother. No offer to help with suitcase (even if we had said no) It does not take much to create a good first impression, just some courtesy and good manners, and they completely failed. Breakfast was ok, nothing remarkable. That step next to the bathroom could be dangerous. There is no lift (just in case someone would need it) There was no toilet paper hold fixed to the wall so we had to have the toilet paper on the floor (quite weird)

A small, nice hotel located a bit away from the city center. We liked nature around hotel and a swimming pool with a view for mounties. Room was quite small but comfortable. Breakfast was Ok.

The pool was large with a jacuzzi and plenty of sun loungers.The room was spacious and clean. The view of the hills and gardens were beautiful.

The lack of aircon made it very difficult to sleep during the night. We were provided with a fan however due to high temperatures this was not enough. This may not be a problem during the cooler months.

It was really cute and not too far from the lake. The staff were friendly and the location spot on. Our room had a balcony.

I didn’t like the fact that there was a little bit of negligence and lack of cleanliness. For example, we weren’t given proper bedsheets.

The property is stunning in the middle of olive trees fields with swimming pool and garden. Breakfast is delicious with a variety of choices (continental breakfast).

I would give 8 as a score but I gave 7 because our room was totally different from the pictures here in booking. Very old style room without hairdryer and extra pillows and we had 2 single beds but no one requested for it.

How beautiful is this place. 4km outside Malcesine. Outside space/garden is to die for. Swimming pool was amazing. We were lucky to have some sun & chilled out by the pool. Breakfast was very good as well. 40 minute walk along lake to Malcesine.We will be returning one day!!

Basic room with no balcony but that may have been what i booked??, no coffee making facilities but didn't disappoint.

Lovely hotel - very peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was great and staff really friendly. Great pool!

Beautiful ambient, very clean, the stuff was nice, the breakfast was good, there was always someone around and kept the area clean.

Extremely helpful staff at reception helping us track lost backpack.Great pool area and close walking distance to a cute little beach to swim.Super breakfast with everything you could want. Comfortable beds. Nice area away from busy tourist area and one road up from busy lakeside road. Great little restaurant walking distance on same road. Easy access to fantastic bike path along lake. ( Something you must do!)Good value for money.

A little noisy from cars passing if rooms in front of hotel but it stopped about 10pm..

We stayed for 2 nights while exploring Malcesine. Location was about 30 min walk from the center or 5 mins to the bus stop.Rooms were clean, balcony had a great view of the cliff side and the breakfast was nice.

The room was a little outdated and there didnt seem to have much room in the bathroom to put your toiletries down, it all felt a little claustrophobic.

Great views, situated amongst olive groves. Amazing place for families with children to keep entertained. It was extremely hot so the pool was welcoming. And the restaurant spec stubs up the road was so good we went back a second time.

The only minus I could think of is no A/C.
