Pros +
- Excellent location on the water and a great restaurant.
- The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is woderfully locted for the ferry terminal, town, cable car and beaches. The breakfast was exceptional. We really enjoyed a meal in the restaurant in the evening. The view of the lake is also stunning from the restaurant in the evening.
- Perfect location by ferry dock/marina. Restaurant is superb with wonderful views. Live music nearby at marina. Staff is very helpful.
Cons -
- It is a bit dated but very clean and comfortable.
- some of the bedrooms had stairs to get to the beds. if you were unstable on your feet this would be a problem
- The room smelled a bit of mildew, and the view was only of the cafe but it was great for people watching. The breakfast was just fine.

Great view and location. Very helpful and kind staff!
Perfect location right on the lake in a charming medieval town. You can swim and relax on the hotel grounds. Good breakfast selection. Restaurant with a view of the lake and mountains.
Location was absolutely perfect! The room was large with a huge bed and the staff was very kind. The bathroom shower was really nice, had great water pressure. Wifi worked decently well. I did really like having a shared outdoor terrace. You do get a discount at the restaurant downstairs.

Location! Fabulous location and the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was also very good and the views wonderful. Having AC was key!
Pillows & sheets are low quality. The breakfast is served inside instead on the beautiful deck overlooking the water. The AC is not very cold but does the job.
Location and view was excellent. Breakfast was good!
The fan rattled in the bathroom, but that's all.
location was great, be prepared to pay for parking room size was good bathroom good hotel needs updating
breakfast was ok, nothing great. hotel needs updating
Great location, friendly staff, good breakfast, nice view from the room, enough space for a small family of four in the two-level family room.
The fold out couch was a bit flimsy
Beautiful hotel with exceptional views. Perfectly situated. Amazing food and drink, plenty of staff and very comfortable
Our troubles started right when we booked the hotel. Having never been to this part of Italy before we mixed up the names of hotels and booked hotel Malcesine instead of hotel Marolda. The booking was made half a year in advance and we contacted the hotel right after we received the confirmation. They did not find any solution for us, not even a partial refund, so we decided to replan our trip and stick with this hotel.6 months later we arrive to the hotel, first we find out that there’s no parking, which means we have to leave the car on the street for 2€/h. For 2 full days that’s almost 50€.Secondly, we go for check-in at the counter, we pay the 8€ city tax and take the elevator to the room. The room is nothing like on the photos on Booking. The only photo that slightly resembles the room is the one of the dark stairs, where you can’t see anything else. The room itself is tiny, the size of a matchbox. Minimal light, very old and almost scary. We had booked the economy room with the “ 1 large double bed”. The room we walked into had a small couch downstairs and steep stairs to a tiny loft-like area (a very dark balcony style space) where we found two single beds in opposite corners. We assumed we had mistakenly been put into the wrong room and went back to the reception to explain the situation and received the most surprising response. The room was not a mistake, the whole hotel does not have any double beds as mentioned in Booking. The receptionist didn’t offer any other options for us, no room with two beds pushed together (like the photo on Booking), no refund, nothing. We left defeated, had to book another hotel and drive all the way back to Riva del Garda and currently hoping for a retrospective solution. Please make sure that this is what you want to include in your holiday plans. The rest of lake Garda was spectacular.
Location was central, ideal for getting to restaurants and for the ferry service. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Bed was comfortable.
Bathroom quite small and no vegan options for breakfast (otherwise they have plenty if you don't have dietary requirements and all looked lovely)
We had a very enjoyable stay. A very pleasant location, with beautiful views over the lake and mountains, situated directly on the waterfront, next to the ferry terminal and easy walking access to the town where there was many shops with good quality locally made goods. Places of historic interest, cafes and restaurants nearby.Hotel staff were pleasant, helpful and courteous as were people in the local shops and cafes
Great location. Nice breakfast. Beautiful view on the lake from the outside area.
location absolutely magnificent. reception staff couldn't do effort .extremely happy.comfortable sleep.beautiful views.ferry transport right outside.breakfast plenty of variety ?
plug sockets in room extremely old needs accessing
The hotel was in a great location- street parking down the road and the boat tours around the corner. Additionally, the staff were very friendly and helpful and I highly recommend the Hotel’s restaurant. We had the bruschetta and pizza and not only was the food so good, but it was for a very good price!
The property is old and the power went out on us a few times, but only for a few seconds. But I can’t complain, because it’s expected.
A lovely hotel with a lovely view! Great restaurant attached. Nice and quiet.
The grumpy waiter at breakfast, if he could at least fake a smile.
We chose the hotel because it is next to the ferry port. We paid extra for a lake view as the only way to get a double bed - the view was superb. The restaurant was very good, as was the breakfast.
Nothing really
The staff was friendly, everything was professional, location is perfect, the breakfast was delicious, a large selection, everything was fresh, warm and equipped
We would have loved to have a kettle in our room :)
