    Pros +

    • Large car park. Easy access. View of the lake from the balcony. Friendliness of the staff especially the young girl in the bar. Nice pool, quite small but big enough.
    • Good breakfast. Large hotel. Pleasant staff
    • What a great location! We loved being able to stay right on the Grand Canal. My favorite part of the day was eating breakfast outside and watching all the action: boats of all kinds going in all directions, gondola rowers getting their boats ready, people getting their days started.

    Cons -

    • Not enough sun loungers around the pool area and no cushions on them so they were uncomfortable and left lines on you legs. The 1/2 umbrellas. One fell over in a slight breeze and landed on top of us.
    • Problem with the drainage in the shower
    • No complaints- we had a wonderful time. We did end up doing a ton of walking though because St. Mark's square is maybe a 20-30 minute walk from this location, but thats a big part of Venice anyways....the walking. You get to see so much more of the city this way. Often, we would take the vaporatto out to where we wanted to go and then walk back to our hotel.

    7AmyPosted on: 7-5-2025

It was well located and quiet. The staff were also very nice and the breakfast was lovely.

I thought the bed was a bit uncomfortable and the wifi didn’t work very well.

The whole hotel is absolutely spotless and cleaned daily.Breakfast good choice.Reception and cleaning staff very friendlyEasy walk to Malcesine along the lake - steep walk back though!

Need to turn on some lights in reception area - very dark and unwelcomingSome areas and furnishings are quite old fashioned but on the plus they are clean

Staff very welcoming the hotel is in a good location with great views of the lake and surrounding countryside easy access for local town walking and by busBreakfast was good and meet with our expectations

Hotel is a little dated now and could do with a refurb to Brighton it up car was a little bit tight for the amount of vehicles that were onsite during our stay

    5GuyPosted on: 10-10-2024

Well located and it had everything you might need.

Big, no soul, no close attention or personal service. Just treated like a number

    8FrancisPosted on: 10-6-2024

Wide choice at breakfast. Nice room. Comfortable bed. Not far from bus stop.

Small shower but very typical of other places in Italy I have stayed.

    7JeanettePosted on: 10-6-2024

The location is lovely, fantastic views, a short steepish way down to the beach promenade, a comfortable short walk along the lake and then your right in the center of town. The room was comfortable and had everything you might need (apart from maybe a kettle). Being on the topfloor the view from the balcony was truly breathtaking. Nice breakfast (would perhaps have been good to get to choose your own table though) with very friendly staff all around.

    staff and hotel generally

we asked for a double/king size bed but were provided twin beds .The mattress was very uncomfortable. I asked for this to be changed was told cant be done today, will get it changed tomorrow but nothing happened. also more instructions no best routes to get to the property.

    9KatriinPosted on: 9-28-2024

The location is a 15 minute walk from the center of Malcesine and is a very pleasant walk. Also a beautiful view from the rooms balcony. We stayed in a superior room and the mattress on the bed was like brand new - very comfortable (although we feared the worst according to earlier reviews). Bathroom is wide and neat. It was a perfect stay for us and we would book it again.

As we are used to a rich continental breakfast, this hotel's breakfast was poor in choice and exactly the same every morning. The only warm dish was eggs (scrambled or boiled), although there were several salamis and cheeses to choose from for the sandwich lovers. But if you're planning to stay for more than a week, you might be spoiled for choice.

    5TerezaPosted on: 9-21-2024

Breakfast was quite rich, excelent scrambled eggs.

Everything was old, really old...at least the rooms downstairs. There was something making noise in the bathroom, and everything was heard - farts, peeing, coughing, when somebody above you flushed wc it was Niagara roaring.

east to walk to from the ferry, nice family run business, veranda area and lobby area really nice for relaxing in. staff very friendly. good views. had my own outside table area which I wasn't expecting. breakfast had a good selection. free WiFi. good priced food and drinks so stayed in for my evening meals.

could hear TV of people in room next door so maybe walls not super thick but really dependent on who is next door to you I guess.

We loved this stately old hotel so much. Such character, spacious, gorgeous views and a feeling of stepping back into the past. The staff is very helpful and accommodating, allowing luggage storage and use of bar and pool before check-in and after check-out, which was a great help as we were dependant on public transport. The breakfast was superb, catering for every taste and hosted by friendly and diligent staff. The room was beautiful, large with a big verandah. We enjoyed the stroll into town, along the lake and being away from the bustle. (The bus also stops close by, but doesn't stick to the timetable. :) )

We missed a kettle, but as soon as we asked, one was provided. We'll be back one day....
