Pros +
- Torre Imperiale is small and friendly, in a stunning location. Our room had a lake view as requested, and a balcony. Although we were right on the road, that meant we had simply outstanding views. And sometimes you feel that you have the lake to yourself.Hotel dining is in a little square, under the shade of the umbrellas. The hotel is in the historic old town: alleyways to explore, no traffic. It's 5 minutes' walk from the ferry stop. And is on the old road that snakes around the edge of Lake Garda. No traffic. Great for walking and cycling. From here, it's an easy step to the network of mule tracks in the hills above. Easy to access by boat, train, bus. On our last morning, we had to leave very very early. The team at Torre Imperiale very kindly arranged breakfast for us to take away. Our home in Maccagno. Grazie!
- The hotel is located at the beautiful Lago Maggiore, and if you have a lake view room, the sight is truly breathtaking.
- Good location
Cons -
- Bad news: the hotel is on the main road. Good news: the road is not always busy. Sometimes there's nothing on the road at all!
- Let’s start with the most important thing: our IDs were scanned and left unattended at the front desk overnight. We arrived at 9PM and only noticed at around 12:30PM the next day, while the hotel was open and the front desk empty. Anyone could have taken a photo of our IDs and this is a violation of GDPR and privacy laws. It has also been reported to the proper authorities. We asked for a refund for the remaining nights we didn’t stay for, as we obviously checked out after realizing that our privacy was not protected, but the hotel refused. So we had to book another hotel in the area, leading to double costs and stress. Other than this, the room was very small and outdated, the air heavy and thick, despite it being rainy outside, and the internet slower than 5mbit per second, both upload and download. It was so slow that I measured it. The breakfast was cold, most of the stuff was store bought and still in plastic packaging. Probably the worst breakfast buffet I’ve experienced. The room also had some stains, on the walls and on my pillow. The elevator was old and a bit scary. The worst part is how little responsibility the owners took. No apology, nothing. They claimed we left due to bad weather (we booked a hotel in the same area for the same time, absolutely not true) and weren’t overly concerned at the privacy violation on their part. I dread to think what’s happening with our ID copies and we’re getting new IDs asap.
- The room was a bit too small and a bit cold/drafty. Breakfast was awful...the cake served was rock hard!We ended up in a nearby café for breakfast.

Good location
The room was a bit too small and a bit cold/drafty. Breakfast was awful...the cake served was rock hard!We ended up in a nearby café for breakfast.
The location was amazing, and the breakfast was delicious. Room and amenities exceeded our expectations
The beds were not very confortable; also, the breakfast staff could be more welcoming, and for the money we paid, we should get better coffee like espresso and cappuccino, not American coffee
The location was incredible, right in front the beautiful view of the lake. There are some restaurants around as well as cafes and bars, which makes it really convenient to stay in the area and relax. The breakfast was good, a lot of sweet options but not many savory, however, breakfast starts after 8 am to 10 am. The staff were kind and the atmosphere was in general very relaxed. the room is okay and bathroom is nicely equipped with hairdryer and toiletries.
The room is old and very simple, no water kettle, no fridge, and not a very comfortable bed. We didn't get a view but the hallway window had a beautiful view of the lake. The price is okay for the location because it is an expensive area but not for the rooms, it should be less expensive to be able to stay longer and enjoy the lake.
Easy access to lake, had a small balcony with view of lake
Property lovely, but unfortunately traffic noise spoiled the ambience a bit.
The staff were very gentile, the location was amazing and next to the very beautiful sidewalk.
Close to the lake with view and close to a neighboring village, where we could walk to. Very nice staff. Good enough value for the money
Limited parking lots, extremely loud street in front of the window, no air conditioning (it was hot and humid weather, difficult to open the window at night because of the street), hard mattress. Breakfast only until 10am (many foods already gone when we came at 9:30)
The hotel was amazing. The location is perfect, the staff is super friendly and the breakfast is delicious!
There wasn't anything I didn't like!
Great location, overall cleanish, but quite dated. Bathroom was a bit unpleasant to use. The staff is very nice, as well as the breakfast.
Bathroom and floors
Location and lake view
Breakfast...poor quality cereals and bread in our opinion.Cant comment on cakes etc overall ok
The location
The staff was not very helpful except for a young guy who tried to accommodate our request.
Good position and nice breakfast
No parking and small room
Very Nice staff. Good location.
The vine selection could be better. The noise of the road could be distressing. But we managed it fine. And honestly we knew it before. So all good
Good location next to the lake.
Room was tiny and outdated. Breakfast was a Lot of prepackaged things and very sweet filled croissants (typical of Italy).
Nice staff
Noisy street sounds and too strong perfume smells in entry and hallways
The hotel is located directly on the lakefront, the view is lovely, and since it was a warm day, it was nice to sit outside on the little balcony of our room (not all rooms have that). Good beds and pillows. No minibar or fridge, but you can always get drinks at the bar/restaurant
The upside is also the downside: because of the lakefront location, there’s a busy street right in front of it, so it’s quite noisy when you open the windows. The shower was more of a trickle
Very kind staff and a beautiful view from the balcony with a good breakfast ?
The hotel is in a great location in the old part of town, overlooking the lake. We arrived by train and it was about 15 mins walk. Our standard room was small and basic withoit a fridge, but adequate as was the breakfast. We asked to upgrade our room on arrival for a balcony overlooking the lake but were quoted 50 Euros and as we'd only paid about 75 for the standard room, we didn't bother. A shame really as the balcony rooms weren't occupied, so a lesser upgrade cost would have been good for us and them.We ate in the restaurant. My husband enjoyed his meat platter, the fish platter for me was way too much, but nice enough. The English speaking guy was helpful.
We could hve been offered a realistically priced room upgrade.A fridge in the room would be good.
Staff at the check-in and breakfast was friendly
Room was probably used by someone who smoked inside, in general it was a bit clairaudient. Breakfast buffet is average
