- We just stayed for 1 night after an evening out in Solothurn. The room was very nice, included an excellent breakfast and the rate was quite reasonable. We got there when it was pitch dark and woke up to the beautiful surroundings on top of the Weissenstein. This is not an out-and-out luxury hotel but it absolutely delivers for the price.

Dinner was exceptional. Really outstanding food, creative and novel, with delightful wines and a relaxed and easy atmosphere. Superb view from South facing rooms, across what seems to be half of Switzerland- stunning. Everything is finished to a high standard, even for Switzerland, with a relaxed feel to the interior design that managed to be both traditional and contemporary. A lovely bathroom.
Bouncy floor in our room that made the bed move when my husband waked around..very odd. Nowhere to sit and relax in our superior room ( only one easy chair though there was space a proper sitting area). There is a small sitting room for guests though it's rather austere and not a relaxing space.
Excellent location up on the ridge. Amazing views from the balcony or dining room. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast buffet.
