Pros +
- I lived everything about the hotel Arathena The staff, accommodations, cleanliness, location It should be a five star rating!! Staff who managers the breakfast and bar services is a gift to this hotel *****( there) five stars!!
- The facility is beautiful and the staff is outstanding
- The staff was welcoming, the location convenient with available parking, and the breakfast was plentiful with delicious food.
Cons -
- No!!! But lots of stairs so perhaps not a good choice for people with mobility issues
- The room is lacking space if you travel with large suitcases. The water pressure in the shower was poor and the WiFi wasn’t stable in our area.
- The room had a strange smell, and by the next morning ants had gotten into our closet and clothes. The following night, we even found a small lizard in the room.

Very cute boutique Hotel. Very tastefully designed beautiful rooms and great scenery.
Unfortunately, our AC did not work, which made sleeping a problem. The room never got below 27C degrees.
Beautiful little location in the town, walking distance to everything
We stayed on ground floor where didint have much of air breeze
The hotel was everything we expected and more! It was in a great location near the town and with a stunning view of the mountain area surrounding. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the hotel itself was very nice with a lovely pool area and in particular a lovely restaurant where we ate one night. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Sardinia!
Exceptional
As the bathroom faced stairs to the pool and another person’s balcony, the window needed a solid curtain for privacy and to keep out light whilst sleeping.
A beautiful hotel with spacious rooms and stunning views from the terraces. We enjoyed drinks in the lounge/bar area both evenings - would recommend the mojitos ?
The air con in our room came on what felt like every 5 minutes through the night and was extremely loud! We couldn’t find a switch to turn it off but other than that our stay was perfect.
Great location, nice atmosphere, friendly staf
Calm and cool room, slept extemely well. Beakefast was good too.
The entire Smerada area is a bit touristy and the price level higher than the rest of Sardinia.
The design was very unique giving a vintage vibe The view was gorgeous
The breakfast had very little options and most of it sweets There was also a lot of stairs to get our luggage to the room however the receptionist helped us with the bags
Quiet hotel in a sleepy little town. Staff were very helpful and accommodating, they all spoke perfect english. Short walk to town center from the hotel. Clean and comfortable. Very organised.
Could do with some quiet music or background noise at the pool. Hotel is quite secluded other than San Panteleo which is up in the mpuntains. We recommend hiring a car if you wish to explore the rest of the island. Parking situation at the hotel could be a bit clearer.
Location in the mountains was beautiful and the design was incredible. Pool area was beautiful. Terrace for breakfast was lovely. Staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough. Rooms were gorgeous with amazing bathrooms
Not a dealbreaker but the pictures of the terrace on booking need updating as it is now covered and looks VERY different. The restaurant is not owned by the hotel and is very expensive as well as having a very limited steak based menu.
Beautiful property with great views and friendly staff. The breakfast was very good
I think pool towels should be included in your stay
Beautiful location - the local town of San Pantaleo was our favourite place we saw in Sardinia, great for bars, buzzy evenings, warm and safe atmosphere, kind people, quaint and pretty roads, mountainous backdrops in all directions. It’s worth highlighting the restaurant. You need to book the day prior and it is pricey, but it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had together. A really special treat to top off your holiday. We had everything we needed and hoped for from the hotel - amazing food, peaceful poolside, lovely room & view from the balcony, kind staff 24/7. It was a serene, beautiful getaway.
Very good but they charge to rent beach towels, also they treat us very bad to leave the room at 12pm which it takes 1 hour to clean. Check in is at 3pm. They should be a bit less rude the receptionist.Only the staff in the breakfast were perfect
Only the Receptionist was horrible RUDE ?
Prime location in a very cozy town, amazing panoramic view over the hill side
Beds was a bit hard and small
It was in an amazing and peaceful location with really nice amenities. The hotel was not too busy and the pool and sun beds were accessible at all times
We had a great time here, worth every penny. The room is comfortable, the staff is kind and the views of the surrounding hills and mountains are incredible. The breakfast is one of the best we had in a hotel. We really appreciated the time spent at the pool, very chill and quiet. The experience at the hotel is impeccable.
I would be cautious about booking a sailing trip through the hotel. I would expect a hotel like Arathena to vet their partners better. Avoid booking a day trip on a vela d'epoca to Maddalena islands. We stopped at only 2 mediocre beaches on San Stefano and Caprera, the third stop that was supposed to be on Isola Porco didn't happen because the boat is too deep and cannot dock in shallow waters. The open bar was a cooler with a few bottles of water and a 3 day open cola. The hotel told us the trip would be 7-8h but we were back after around 5h. It was an unfortunate rip off.
We loved how welcoming and friendly the staff were! The rooms were spacious and very clean which we appreciated too. Breakfast on offer was the best we’ve had in any hotel so far, they were super accommodating to a number of different allergens - a highlight for us was the multiple gluten free options that differed each day. Would definitely return and recommend this hotel for anyone looking to visit San Pantaleo!
