L'Essenza Hotel

Great location right in the city center. The staff is very kind and helpful. The breakfast is very good.

The thermostat was not working or at least I couldn’t adjust it, which meant the room was always at 25 degrees in a 20-22 degree weather, this is way too hot, specially for sleeping, so I kept waking up at night feeling extremely warm, which made me open the windows all the time.

Beds were very comfortable and location was great. Staff were very helpful and restaurant recommendations were excellent.

I stayed at L'Essenza Hotel on the first and last nights of my August holiday in Sardinia. I chose the hotel because it was very convenient by public transport for Olbia airport (There is a bus which costs less then two euros and which drops you a short walk from the hotel). It was also only a short (8 minute) walk to the train station for my onward travel to Alghero. The hotel is located 1 minute's walk from the main street of Olbia where you will find lots of restaurants and shops and which is picturesque and perfect for your evening stroll. Despite this, the hotel is very quiet and not on a busy thoroughfare. The stand-out feature of L'Essenza Hotel has to be the staff. Without exception, I was greeted with a friendly smile and nothing was too much trouble. The staff in the breakfast room would welcome me warmly and offer coffee and eggs made to order. Breakfast was plentiful and varied with a selection of pastries, toast, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, cheese and cold meats. The breakfast room was bright and spacious with a lovely view from the terrace if you chose to eat out there. The staff on the reception desk helped me with understanding public transport options and also allowed me to freeze my cool-blocks in their freezer overnight, which was a godsend as it was 33 degrees in Sardinia during my stay. The air-conditioning in the room worked very well, the bathroom was spacious and well-equipped and my bed was comfortable and afforded a great sleep on both nights. The staff remembered that I had liked the room at the start of my holiday and allocated it to me again when I returned. Lots of lovely people in a lovely hotel.

Breakfast was a delightful start to each day, with a fantastic selection of continental, Italian, and vegetarian options, The staff is exceptional, with a special shout-out to Estefania, whose warm smile makes every morning even brighter. Every aspect of my stay was carefully thought out, ensuring a perfect balance of relaxation and exploration.I highly recommend L'Essenza Hotel to anyone visiting Olbia. Maria and Gabrielle truly elevate the experience, making it more than just a stay—it's a memorable, heart-warming getaway.

What a joy to find a hotel better much much better than you expected. We read some of the reviews about how good the breakfast was but they were wrong. It’s far better. The staff are amazing. Ladies in picture. The food was five star really blown away.

The property is perhaps a little utilitarian, but it is comfortable and it is clean and for one or two nights stay it is perfect

Location was good

The sheets on the bed were full of different kind of hair and when I have called to the reception to tell about it, some lady who claimed to be the owner appeared late at our room and asked to leave their hotel and find another one! It was around 21 o’clock and we have just returned from Fonni located around two hours drive and we were tired… I have only asked to receive a tidy bed by phone at the reception… So she insisted me to cancel the booking and when I showed her from the application that it won’t be refunded she gave her mercy and changed our sheets and let me with a five year old child finally to fall asleep at their hotel.

The location was perfect for easily reaching the pedestrian zone and restaurants. The front desk staff was very kind and responsive.

I'm not sure how this is rated a 4 star hotel. We did not receive towels and had to go back to reception to get them, the refrigerator was not cooling, there was no coffee or tea making facilities in the room or even cups to use at the sink. Furnishings were very basic and not worth the price paid.

Excellent location, very friendly staff, clean rooms, excellent breakfast. If I return to Olbia, I know where I’m staying.

Basic hotel (not luxury) but I would highly recommend.

Comfortable, modern, clean, light and airport hotel with a lift. Very attentive staff . Receptionist were both first class. Nothing was ever too much for them. Very good selection of food for breakfast. Hotel located in a quiet street with hardly any traffic. Nice terrace and views. Nice to have a mini fridge in the room. Nice and big wardrobe. Big bathroom with modern equiqmeny it has been recently refurbished. Overall, attentive and friendly staff. Recommended.

There should be a kettle, with tea and coffee making facilities all the rooms, irrespective of the price of the room .
