    Pros +

    • Staying in a castle was interesting.
    • Staying in the medieval village of Haute-De-Cagnes above Canges-Sur-Mer was charming and requiring a daily ride on the local shuttle bus to the Chateau Grimaldi square with the locals or a call to hotel staff to pick you up in town.
    • Fantastic place to stay. Beautiful views and location. Gorgeous restaurant at the hotel. Square around the corner. Plenty of car parks a short walk away, but we had a bit of difficulty parking as our hire car was a hybrid and too heavy for the planastel multi-storey car park. Frequent Electric bus to the hotel.

    Cons -

    • Parking access was not available due to property location. This should have been mentioned. Getting to and from our car was not easy although property staff were very helpful. Knowing this in advance probably would have made us choose differently.
    • The medieval streets required expert hotel staff to ease the car back to the car park in Cagnes-Surx-Mer village below, but once the luggage was delivered this was not a problem. Just be aware they are not kidding about difficulty driving to the hotel.
    • Honestly, the only thing missing to make this a five star resort would be a spa.

The Chateau was spectacular and exceeded expectations. The area is stunning. Loved the art themed rooms. The restaurant was excellent. Can’t say enough good things!

Honestly, the only thing missing to make this a five star resort would be a spa.

The amazing views, the staff, and the design of the hotel. The small village was very cute, and everyone was truly welcoming.

The double bed was not tied together, which meant that it separated during sleep.

Beautiful and charming décor, friendly and helpful staff, breakfast on the terrace, magnificent views of Nice and surrounding area.

Car parking is not at the hôtel. There is parking below the Château. You have to call the hôtel and they will send a driver to come get you.

The place is gorgeous! We spent 2 nights at the hotel, had a lot of fun! The staff is mega responsive, they solve any problem, give advice, book the places you ask for. The restaurant was delicious, we had dinner. Very atmospheric. The feeling that you live in a castle. Breakfasts are good, everything is delicious and everything is fresh. The town where the hotel is located is a fairy tale!

Staff were so kind and helpful. Always smiling, accommodating, and going out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.

    Not the most modern bathroom.

I adored this intimate historic property which I had read about over the years. They truly preserve the sense of place and it was quite romantic.

I have nothing negative to say about this property other than getting there is kind of tricky up those narrow winding roads.

Room was great, food was delicious (we ate all our meals onsite.) Everyone working there was very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, we were able to walk around the old part of town and up to the village square with its outside cafes and watch people playing games in the square. Very quaint. The views are gorgeous from up there.

We liked everything about the property, no dislikes.

The rooms are each named after an artist and have a reproduction of a painting done by a local artist. Our room was quite spacious, the views were amazing and the bed was incredibly comfortable...I didn't want to leave. The hotel is on top of a hill in Haute Cagne and the restaurant has a balcony overlooking the surrounding areas. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The staff were super personable and helpful.

It took at least 5 minutes to get warm water in the shower. I understand that the plumbing could have challenges in this old chateau, but no one warned me about this. The hotel should post a note in the bathroom.

Wonderfull, elegant hotel in a lovely beautiful village. We had a great view from our room towards the sea. Easy parking (robotic) at the entrance to this beautiful hilly village. We called the front desk and within minutes one of the hotel staff came to pick us up to the hotel. We paid about 12 euros parking there from 15pm-11am . (Apparently you can park at the cemetery at the entrance to the village free of charge and they will pick you up from there). The restaurant is very good! Very kind and helpful staff.

Our two-room patio suite had stunning views in three directions. The bed was quite comfortable and the bathroom was spotless, spacious, and luxuriously appointed. Our bartender/server Benjamin went over and above to help us and had a great personality. The meal we had at the restaurant was outstanding.

Beautiful Setting in a medieval town.had ocean view from the room.Beds were very comfortable.

Location and views were excellent. Our room was upgraded which was fantastic.

Few minor niggles with the room. Extractor fan not working. One sink plug didn’t operate. We had breakfast one day and their service was poor, and overpriced for what was available
