Pros +
- beachfront hotel with the room with a sea room view with balcony and excellent customer service
- THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! DO NOT STAY HERE! Coming from a Mom traveling with her family.
- Private parking on first come first served basis was great. Location fabulous with balcony sea view, several restaurants nearby. Staff very helpful recommending a great stone baked pizza place. Breakfast of basket of fresh pastries, juice and hot beverages was fine. A straight 10 minute drive to airport was easy.Small bar, games and books were a nice touch. We will stay again.
Cons -
- internet was poor
- Regrettably, it appears that neither Booking.com nor the Hotel du Bord de Mer "Le Vanille' prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of their customers. Based on the details of my dispute with the hotel and booking.com, I genuinely expected Booking.com to handle this situation with greater professionalism and empathy. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The €67 goodwill credit offered does little to address the core issue—that I was placed in a position where my family and I were expected to stay at Hotel du Bord de Mer "Le Vanille" in Cagnes-sur-Mer, France, despite clear signs of mold contamination. Even hotel staff acknowledged the presence of mold, yet neither the property owner nor Booking.com took any action to resolve the matter. This situation is deeply disappointing—not because of the financial aspect, but because of the lack of moral responsibility and basic human understanding. No one should ever be expected to compromise their health under any circumstances. Do not stay at this hotel if your health matters to you!
- Bathroom could be updated but was adequate.

The location
The staff was not friendly , they are respectful but definitely need more customers services , we only stay few hours because the strike from the airlines our flight was move to that night and they really do not care or have any gesture off compassion I was traveling with my parents which are 80 years old , and we come from 10 hrs flight
seafront location is excellent nearby all kind of amenities
Lobby aging a bit, ways in and out awkward, writing desk really small.
good location not far from the airport
No liftRoom very old, dated, ordinary. Needs updating and new paintBreakfast was 50 euro per person
We had a very nice room with the window facing the sea and enjoyed our stay very much. Location is actually super good, walkable distance to train station to take the Zou train (regional train) to explore other towns. We were staying for a couple of days, once we got tired of running around, we just strolled along the beach. There’s also supermarkets, restaurants and bakeries around. The room was big enough for two people and all the staff we met were very friendly! Would definitely recommend it!
Great location and beach front sea view roomsComfortable bed
The hotel facilities were good but the services were not good.
I had booked a room at the front of the hotel with a balcony and a full view of the sea; they decided to move my wife and I to a small room in a building behind the hotel with a sliver of a view of the sea [probably to sell the big room for more money as no reason was given for the move]. We were told this when we arrived. And we had to argue with them to get a small discount off the original price. And the wifi was a hot spot that did not work on our phones or laptops. And the TV signal was sporadic so the picture would disappear for a few seconds to approx 1 minute to gone.
The location was as described. Enjoyed the view from the balcony
Staff weren't helpful at all ,even changing the code to the door mid stay and didn't let us know , we struggled to get in, but we were met with indifference by the chap on reception The room wasn't serviced during our 5 night stay , and the public areas are in need of some attention. When we checked in, they tried to overcharge us , but when challenged, the price soon changed. We were charged full breakfast price for 2 coffees , so save yourself the expense and enjoy breakfast elsewhere. We had road works outside the hotel one evening, we mentioned it to both the evening receptionist on our way in and the receptionist the following morning as the work continued until 2am, and we were just dismissed .
Location by the water was great.
Okay, the Garden view was more like a parking view. But at least you can walk to the beach.
- When we returned to the hotel in the evening, we wanted to enjoy a beer with a snack. While there were no cookies, chips, or typical snacks available, the staff kindly offered us some crunchy bread. It wasn’t great, but it was a thoughtful gesture.- The location is convenient, with Cros de Cagnes train station just an 8-10 minute walk away.- The view from the hotel is also quite nice
- They demand a deposit on your credit card, which is utterly baffling. If you inquire why, you'll be met with a ridiculous response like, 'Maybe you'll lose the key.' Well, if you lose the key, you can't get into the room in the first place, so what exactly is the point of this deposit? It’s not the smartest policy, especially considering the incredibly limited service you’re already getting, as I’ll explain below. Should you really stay in a place that seems to think you might break through walls or drill holes in the TV? I’m not so sure.- When you finally get into the room, don’t even think about quenching your thirst with anything from the minibar—it’s completely empty. The simple courtesy of offering water would have been a touch of class, but alas, no such luck.- And in a room where they can’t even bother to provide water, expecting something like tea or coffee is apparently too much to ask. Just… ‘wow’- Hygiene products, such as soap and shower gel, are quite insufficient, maybe this is their standard, I didn't ask because they didn't renew them, I preferred to buy them from the market instead. On the other hand, there were no cloth slippers.
We loved the sea-view and came to this hotel for that and it's proximity to Nice airport. We enjoyed walking to/from the airport along this scenic coast. The staff at this hotel were very warm, friendly, welcoming and spoke French slowly enough for me that I didn't struggle with comprehension and I very. much appreciated that. For the price, the room was not as nice as I thought it would be. It appeared to be clean. There was only 1 chair for seating, a 2nd chair would have been nice but may have made the small space cramped. I cannot comment on breakfast becasue we did not take breakfast (my husband has celiac's disease so croissants/pastries are not possible for us. ) What I most appreciated about this stay was the friendly staff and the beautiful sunset and sunrise from our room. I would probably stay there again.
The room seemed lower quality than I would expect for such a price. Also, a fire alarm went off early in the morning, waking us up (which, I know, is the point...) and fortunately, nothing was wrong. We were unable to go back to sleep, though. It was unfortunate but it was also nice to know that in the event of an emergency, a fire alarm would wake up the people staying in this hotel.
The room was fine comfy bed plenty of pillows good shower and a nice balcony with cracking view
Gorgeous little hotel right on the beach . Family room tucked away and perfect for us
Nil
We were three and basically got two rooms within our room.Bath room was large enough.
No sea view.Room was very narrow.Bathroom was a bit spartan.Hotel parking fees were too high.
We really enjoyed the location by the ocean.
Small space. Tight for two people.
Friendly staff, nice hotel, near to the beach
Small hotel and nice view on the sea, comfortabel balcony
Can accommodate early checkin and a concierge service to manage the luggage at checkout; pleasant staff, facing the promenade, has restaurant service although don’t know whether it served lunch or dinner
The room is not overlooking the sea, and our shower was clogged although it did come down eventually; no lift but the person on duty helped with our luggage.
