Pros +
- Location. Staff and food.
- The room was cosy. The shower was nice. The staff was welcoming.Location was good.
- The location is excellent and the building very interesting. Dinner was good, but pricey.
Cons -
- The bathroom was too small. We didn't like the access to the room, there was a restaurant on one side and a toilet for the restaurant guests on the other side (you could hear noises through the wall)Staff and guests smoke right outside at the entrance to the hotel (not a nice first impression) and our room was just above so you can hear the conversations and smell the cigarets.Unfortunately the hotel exterior was under renovations during our stay (scaffolding, machines etc).
- Very annoying not to be warned that major roofing work was in progress so the place looked and felt like a building site.Work started at 7.57am on Friday, although we had been assured it would not be before 9.00.The hotel forgot to do the room on Friday. The phone in the room did not work. The shower room was the smallest ever. The little private terrace was nice, but the access was very difficult.Several bits of broken tile were found on the terrace on Saturday morning. When these problems were raised, the proprietor/staff seemed either dismissive or unapologetic . We were given a risible discount, €40, which was really not adequate.
- There was nothing we didn’t like. We had no noise from other rooms which was good. One small criticism was the shower screen wasn’t long enough but there was nothing that can be done about that.

Very smart and comfortable hotel with a good breakfast. The rooms were very comfortable, and the black out curtains made for a great nights sleep. It’s a two minute walk into the centre of Sarlat so away from the noise but so close to the action. Plenty of parking on the street around, or there is a free parking lot just up the hill. Perfect.
Room 6 was lovely, two windows looking over the square , good size beautifully decorated.
The hotel is situation almost in the centre of the town. Everything was within walking distance. The room was comfortable and compact but we only slept there so it wasn’t an issue

Great welcome from reception, fabulous location
Room was very small with building work outside
Great location! Right on the edge of the old town which made it easy to get to and short walk to the everything you want to see. Paid parking is right across the hotel.
The breakfast was very basic. I wish we would find other options in the old town.
The location is superb . The room was spacious . Historic building.
Can hear some street noise as bottle bins located nearby the front entrance and people walking late at night. The staff when we arrived queried we had a family room booked which caused some anxiety. He also criticised booking.com and said bookings often do not come through correctly. Not a great welcome.
This was a lovely building within the old walls of Sarlat. Very nice staff and a huge balcony.
Tiny room, tried to move bed slightly so we could both get in to it and could not then open the door. Had to crawl under the table to plug the kettle in but could then not pour it as the lead wouldn't stretch. Restaurant closed to had to take my 93 year old partner out into town to eat. Very noisy and drunk people outside under our window.
I liked : location of hotel, and the hotel itself, breakfast very good and complete. Bed and bathroom were good..bed comfy.
The room was tiny...too small for two people. It was dark and had the feeling of a basement room. There was no extra space except for the bed and a small surrounding. Definitely not good except for basics, for napping andsleeping. Pillows were too hard.
Location was excellent rooms basic but very clean and comfortable
It was right opposite the parking place (Not the one suggested by the hotel which was bit far away) and was in the very centre of the town. The room was spacious and very efficient shower with nice hot water.
The lift, corridor, the room decors all seemed to be shabby….outdated. Need the refurbishment !The corridor was especially bit like a maze with several steps here and there ( Although, it depends on which room you have taken). The interiors of the room were cheaply fitted with the chair quite hard to sit and making quirking sounds. There were no sockets in one of the family room, so l had to charge my iPhone at the bathroom. The most important thing was that there were no rails for the one of the window. We have thought it would be very dangerous, especially considered that it was a family room. The children could lean over the window and easily fall down….The breakfast room was bit too crammed for the size of the hotel. The hotel has quite spacious front terrace, so l was expecting more people eating outside in the fairy warm weather.
Convenient location. Staff very helpful. Updated bathrooms.
No air-conditioning, only fans. Still very warm and humid in October.
The location of this hotel is perfect for walking around Sarlat. Staying in a historic building was fun. We had free parking 5 minutes away. When we left a folder of documents at the hotel, they called us promptly which we so appreciated.
Ideal location. Nestled just on the outer edge of the historic medieval town, it's a very easy 2 - 3 min walk to the center with all the cafés, restaurants and shops. Our room was charming, although a bit small, and comfortable even without air conditioning. Breakfast was excellent.
We needed a fan for air flow since there isn't any air conditioning, however the screen guard around the standup fan in the room was broken.
We loved the authenticity of the old style building. However we especially liked the modern features including the bathroom and shower facilities. The meal in the restaurant in the evening was superb.
Would have liked to see a few flowers or pot plants on the terrace off our room. But thought that terrace was a lovely addition room 12
Good value for money. Good location. Convenient parking.
Location adjacent to the old medieval part of town. Easy to explore the area. Staff was very helpful with advice and answers to questions.
Room was small but it was fine by me.
Great value and 'did what it said on the tin'. Location excellent for old town. Staff very helpful.
Parking difficult but not much can be done about that.
