    Pros +

    • Good simple buffet breakfast. Great restaurant with delicious food. Room was spacious and comfortable and having the pool available was much appreciated. The hotel is a short drive away from Sarlat's center, about 35 mins walking distance.
    • Was quite a surprise when we drove up to the hotel, felt like we were going through a housing estate and then we went through the gates and this was a lovely hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful and the evening meals outstanding. Had originally thought we would got out for food, but after the first night were so impressed we ate there for the remaining three nights.
    • The property is beautiful and the photographs don’t do it justice. Grounds are well maintained. The rooms are very clean. Family friendly.

    Cons -

    • Although the hotel offers family rooms, the food options for children were a little limited so if you have fussy children who won't eat a number of ingredients, I wouldn't plan to stay more than a couple of days.
    • Pool and pool area may need a bit of maintenance / renovation. Not very close to the town centre but we knew this before booking and didn’t mind the walking.
    • Far from the city centre

Breakfast was supposed to be until 10.30, yet at 9.30 a lot of the dishes were empty and only replenished on demand.

Bin in our room hadn’t been emptied after the previous visitors and safe didn’t work.

A little outside of Sarlat lies this beautiful Hotel. Nice pool. Warm welcome by the staff (Julie). Air conditioning. Nice renovated bathroom. Restaurant on very high level. Lovely pool.

A little fridge would have been nice. Some hooks for bathing suites.

The historical building is very nice…

The location, near and overlooking a cheap multi family complexThe extension, where our room was located, is a modern, tasteless building, that would fit an entry price chain, like Ibis. The furniture is cheap, the floors plastic, the wall decor is fiberglass fake concrete slab…The restaurant food was so overcooked we could not eat it. The restaurant staff was overwhelmed…We cut our stay, originally 3 nights, to one night. They graciously accepted our cancellation.

Beautiful property with a lot of charm. A gem in the middle of nature, peaceful and quiet. Dinner was very good offering nice specialties of the area with a twist. Everybody was nice and helpful.

We loved the hotel, its cleanliness, its charm. Most of all we loved the restaurant!

    9AlisonPosted on: 9-14-2023

Setting/location was stunning. So quiet and peaceful. Pleasant pool area with loungers. Outside dining area was lovely, staff were friendly and efficient and food in the evenings was excellent.

A bar area for a drink before or after dinner would be a welcome addition, especially on evenings when it is too cool to sit outside late.

A typical French country house style of property. A certain charm, but with some of the furniture being tired. Comfortable bed and we had a small patio.Terrific restaurant!

Some of the furnishings in the bedroom were tired.

Staff were friendly, everything was clean and comfortable and the airco worked well. Breakfast was good and there was plenty of free parking on site. The restaurant was nice and was open on a Sunday which is good because many restaurants are closed in France on Sundays.

The hotel needs a bar or something! When staying in a location which is farther from everything else it would be good to have a place to get a drink before dinner - the staff seemed utterly confused by our request for a drink and there is no real place to sit and do so.

Lovely surroundings, the pool area was good. The staff were very helpful, they sorted us a taxi to go I to Sarlat although we couldn't get one back so had to walk , which was a good 40 minutes uphill. The meal in the restaurant was very good.

No tea/coffee or mini fridge. It was very hot while we were there, so access to cold water, maybe even a vending machine with cold drinks and snacks in reception would have be good.

historic setting- open garden location - ample parking - easy access

a little too far out of city centre

    7SimonePosted on: 5-12-2023

The restaurant staff were very helpful, the food was excellent.

The room was not a comfortable and inviting room, the condensation on the windows and doors was very bad, puddles of water on the floor

    7JmabwPosted on: 4-27-2023

The room was ok and functional, perhaps lacking in character, the restaurant food was very nice but was only open in the evening.

There wasn't really a proper bar or seating area, meaning on a wet day you were stuck un the room - when staff arrived they did make an effort to seat you in the restaurant waiting area.

quiet, beautiful property. Dining in the courtyard as the sun went down was lovely. My husband is a wheelchair user and access and the wheelchair accessible room were first class

    9stuartPosted on: 9-5-2022

Room was modern & comfortable. It was really clean. Staff on reception were very good but Julie made the trip for us. The pool could have been a little warmer but it was in good shape. The restaurant was excellent. Investigate the half board it offers good value for money.

The breakfast needs to be shaken up a little. It was staid.
