Pros +
- The room, the beds and all the details. The owners were so friendly and helpful. They run the hotel with lots of love
- We really liked the Front Desk staff. The location and room rates were both exceptional.
- Both the personnel and location make this hotel incredible. Most tours and transportation to the train station depart from directly across the street. The bakery and cheese shop in the next block are wonderful. The hotel is just on the edge of the old city with streets well lighted and safe. Talking with the new owners and learning about the history of the hotel made our stay special.
Cons -
- I liked everything
- Hauling my suitcase up the stairs.
- Currently there is no elevator but I believe it was just approved. Looking forward to using it next year when we return!

Close to center of town. Nice owners. Smalll and semi boutique. I’d call it 3 star. Nice and cozy. Quiet. Set close to these bakery/pastry cafe ever: Maison Lissajoux. Tell Jean-michel hello.
Typical for France, no elevator in older buildings. No taxi unless pre planned) or Uber. If arriving in Sarlat call ahead for taxi to meet at train station.
Hotel St. Albert could not be better--first, because of the wonderful proprietor, who was always available, friendly, proactive, and helpful. He and other staff members spoke multiple languages and always seemed happy to interact. The location is 1-2 minutes walk from the heart of Sarlat with plenty of nearby parking and other amenities (bank, grocery, delicious bakery). Also the hotel breakfast included many options, you can have a full meal or just a coffee and pastry if you prefer. The room was immaculate, beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was modern and in excellent condition. Our favorite hotel out of about 10 on this trip.
We wish we could have stayed longer!
Great staff & loved my room. Location was brilliant!!
I was ok without an elevator but it would of been helpful.
Every thing , I highly recommend this place to anyone, perfect location to the old city with so much to explore, the hosts were always friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great , love it
To short a stay
Location and modern room with large bathroom. Breakfast was good value too.
Tiny bedside tables
Very comfortable rom. Next to a large public parking. Excellent breakfast. Short walking distance from old part of Sarlat.
Wifi/internet connection wss a bit slow.
The room was spotlessly clean, and the bathroom had a small, but perfectly usable tub which was a bonus. Helpful staff, and just a short walk to the medieval part of town (literally two blocks which puts you close enough to get there and far enough that you can avoid the crowds when you want to be in your hotel).
The only two negatives were that the WiFi was intermittent at best and required you to constantly reconnect and that the large double bed was actually two small singles put together - meaning that if you were the type who likes sleeping in the middle of the bed you would have an uncomfortable time on that crevice between the two mattresses.
The hotel is across from the train station. It was in a good location, you take take the metro to the plazas. It was clean. The breakfast was OK. All employees were nice except one…who told us his friend would take us to the airport to pick up a rental car for 15 euros -he said normally it is 25. The friend charged us 50 Euros. Quite the rip off!
The plaza area is nicer but fun to watch people coming and going from the train
Excellent location, extremely courteous staff, very good breakfast - great for the value, very well working air condition, and great water pressure in the shower, very comfortable bed and room overall. We will definitely stay there again! Thank you Angel!
Everything
Staff was friendly and helpful giving us information on good restaurants and sites to visit . Located just south of the city center and close to parking lot.
Beds were very firm and uncomfortable. Shower tub is very slippery and should have non slip strips to prevent a fall. Climbing the 3 flights of stairs with luggage proved to be a challenge. Breakfast had limited selection and on days we were there many food items were not being refilled when gone.
What a great little hotel. Room is tiny but clean and comfortable. Shower was great. Very good location that fit in with the vibes of a great little town.
Clean room, great breakfast, comfortable bed. It is owned by a couple, the wife was extremely pleasant and friendly, the man is a narcissist, bigot and a racist.
I arrived without a booking and showed the receptionist an online rate. The owner immediately interrupted, saying it was "impossible," and spoke to her in a belittling, dismissive tone. My intent was to save them the commission from the online booking, too tired to look for another place, I went ahead and booked online —for just one night. The next morning, the owner was more pleasant and offered sightseeing tips, but then shifted into a disturbing political rant. After I simply said I loved France, he launched into xenophobic comments about Arabs and immigration. That France isn't what it was before, he moved from Paris to Salta to get away from them. He continued sharing unsolicited, inflammatory views on global politics...Ukraine, Iran, US, Russia...These kinds of racist and inappropriate conversations have no place in the hospitality industry. A hotel should be a welcoming space for all guests. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this property.
Perfect location just outside the Main Street. 2 minutes and you are enjoying Sartlat. Also public parking just 5 minutes walking was always available and free.
No elevator if that matters to you. We did not mind.
Friendly staff, great location, and given the price it was brilliantly located. We had a family room with a double bed at one end and two single beds at the other end. 2 mins walk to town centre. Parking opposite.
Parking was a bit complicated with 1hr free and only charging during the daytime. I had to leave the room at 9am to increase parking charge. But only cost us around €12 for 20hrs as nightime was free. The hotel manager/owner helped explain the best way to pay for this for the minimum charge so that helped.
Close to city centre, great breakfast and friendly staff.
Location is exceptional - next to historical town and with parking across the road. Breakfast, which was extra was worth it - very good selection and service. They will make eggs fresh to order. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Not very large but just perfect space and space was well thought out. Air conditioning was strong and quiet. We booked family room, which was perfect - it had a separate room for kids. The hotel was reasonably priced and was exceptional value.
Nothing - everything was perfect.
Quaint old hotel with very friendly and helpful staff! Good location, parking (paid) across the street.
No elevator, but the staff insisted on helping us with our bags!
