Hotel Garbi

I loved the location of the property and its tranquil setting. My balcony had a gorgeous view over the town.

Unfortunately the restaurant in the hotel wasn’t open for dinner

The staff was very friendly and service-minded, and the location is great. The hotel premises are very nice too. Would definitely stay here again.

The bathroom smelled of sewage sometimes

very nice hotel surrounded by lots of trees. The room was spacious (we were 3 people). The breakfast was very rich and delicious. The location was great, walk to beach in 5min.

the WIFI did not work in my room (the signal was too weak).

When checking in the woman was kind. She said breakfast for young children was free and 17€ for my husband and me. I double checked to make sure I understood. We took breakfast ONLY because of this. The man at check out charged us! (My young children had juice & 1 small bread.) Even after respectfully explaining, he would not honor what his staff said, which is very unprofessional.- The website makes it seem like all rooms have a view. While our room had a pretty terrace, there was no ocean view. Not a huge deal, but don’t book here just for the views.

Horrible

The shower kept on switching from freezing to burning hot water in a matter of seconds. The jacuzzi wasn’t working and the hallway had a really bad scent we will not come back ew

The location is perfect, with a 3-5 mins walk to the beach and restaurants. The breakfast is full of delicious options and served in a beautiful restaurant. Overall the hotel has a beautiful design and nice balconies with wonderful views over the coast. We went in April so we did not explore much of the pool area but it was beautiful as well.The staff was so nice and friendly, and overall gave a family business atmosphere, while the facilities are super fancy and beautiful.

I really like the customer service, the breakfast and its value for money

We really enjoyed the proximity to the beach and restaurants, and the beautiful hotel grounds. The hotel and our room were spotless clean, the staff were very welcoming and polite. We arrived a bit earlier and they accommodated us right away. We had breakfast at the hotel’s restaurant. Very generous and good quality food. Highly recommended when you visit the area.

Lovely hotel just out of the town with great views of the Bay. Staff were super helpful and full of suggestions. Only a 10 minute walk from the bars and restaurants and 4 minute walk from a shop.

The daytime receptionist was very friendly and helpful.The breakfast was decent too. The room was fine, sufficiently equipped and well-maintained

The restaurant wasn't fully functional.

On arrival the hotel is lovely. Room was comfortable. Juana at reception was pleasant.

We arrived towards end of season & there was no restaurant available for lunch or dinner which was disappointing & something the hotel should have on their webpage. The breakfast was very basic & it wasnt until our second last day we realized we could order boiled eggs or an omelette for breakfast - there was no menu provided, we assumed it was what was laid out. The staff don't try to do anything additional to enhance your stay which they should do considering as it was end of season, the service they CAN provide, is quite limited. The bar stock was also very limited as they are using what is left rather than catering for guests needs. Also, the ice machine was not working & the bar staff told us, they were no longer providing ice for the drinks because it was the end of season! The cost of a taxi was an "ABOSLUTE", rip off! Locally, for a 6 mins taxi ride to LaFranc (2.2km from hotel) was €20.00 & you had to prebook as there are no taxis available to call after 12am. Extortionate price @€9.09 per kilometre! We went for a wedding and had family staying in Lafranc & one evening headed to meet them for dinner. When we tried to get a taxi back & had no joy asking the hotels in Lafranc to call one for us, I called Hotel Garbi to ask for help, handed the phone to the manager of Hotel Terramar in Lafranc to ensure, no language barriers, was told, yes one on the way in 10 mins, after30 mins we gave up waiting & started the uphill trek back. Had also called hotel Garbi to find out the delay only to be hung up on SEVERAL times by the late night manager as his English was not great.... why pick up the phone if you are only going to hang up on guests? Very unprofessional & frustrating. We made a compliant to the manager the following day & heard nothing more, a poor apology but not even a coffee to try to make amends. Very bad customer service.

The location of the property was

They did not give us the room that we requested. It was supposed to be a garden view and they gave us a view of the street.

Hotel Garbi is a nice hotel in a beautiful city. The rooms are clean. Breakfast is ok for the price.

Don't book the room with hot tub. The terrace is not private from other rooms so it is not nice to sit in the hot tub. The floor of the room of the hot tub has the family rooms, so you don't have the relaxing silent you would expect for the price.

The facilities are excellent, the room was clean and a good size. It was also close enough to the city center so you can easily walk even though there is a small hill.

The rooms are not soundproof, you can hear absolutely everything from the rooms around you. You will need to adjust your sleeping hours with the other guests otherwise you won't sleep. But still, I would recommend this place because of the location and facilities.

Surrounding hotel area

Service in the reception should improve a lot. We asked in the morning to book a taxi. When we came we were informed they no taxi is booked as lady in receptionist forgot to do it. We were so stressed as we were about to miss the bus while we were waiting for a taxi. Another thing is a very bad smell in bathroom from the pipes!

Beds very comfortable. Great view from Balcony. Excellent buffet breakfast with polite and welcoming staff. Great location - 5 minute walk to seafront and if you have a car within easy driving distance of surrounding towns.
