Tv didn't work and would not shut off Room layout was strange Dinner entree as inadequate portion with no sides?

We stayed in October and we found the room a to be too hot. They had shut off the ac . Opening the patio door was a quick fix.

Crazy weird and rude restaurant manager that when questioned why (in Spanish by my Spanish wife ) why others could be served but not us. He said it was his restaurant, yet we were staying there for 3 days and the others were local mortuary works. (I guess they need to have a drink and a tapa after work sometimes ) I tried to get him to apologize but he couldn’t do it. Might be cultural? Also there was no hot water in the afternoons.

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous! Location great for us and the proximity to the sea was undeniable. The spa was lovely and our massages were excellent. Our Spa room was spacious and quiet and serene. We would definitely go back. Staff was patient and courteous. The breakfast was beyond fantastic, a 10+++.

Unfortunately, our dinner at the restaurant was not a good experience. The salad was fantastic but the entree’s were just so so. The biggest disappointment was the wait staff. It felt like to us they were just there to deliver food. No pleasantries or engagement of any kind. They just delivered food and never checked back. You had to ask them back for everything you needed. It was awkward and disappointing.

Always the best experience at Hostal Spa Empuries. We've stayed here a couple times and will certainly come back as a tradition. The hotel - rooms, facilities, service, spa and food are simply exceptional. The location is magical! Nature meets aesthetics in here.We also came with a dog and were welcomed with a cute dog essentials gift bag.

Breakfast had an excellent choice and the eggs and bacon were freshly cooked to order. Merlin loved his doggy present.

I don't like the bar arrangement and it took ages to be served with a drink

The Hotel is in probably one of the best locations in the Cista Brava. The Hotel is fantastic with great interior design and what a view as you walk through reception into the bar and restaurant. Food was great, restaurant was great and what fantastic value for money. Especially if you visit out of season. We visited in March and what a great night Michael

Location is 10/10. Listening to the waves as you lie in bed. Breakfast was not bad and staff were very friendly. Spa was a bonus. Its nothing over the top, which to. be honest we loved. Just a really cosy welcoming place to spend a couple of days.

Loved the location. What a beautiful place!The food was lovely. Lenka made me an amazing cocktail and looked after us really well with lovely bites to eat!

Excellent location, such a beautiful coast and beach. Fantastic to rent a bike and cycle along the coast!Breakfast and dinner were excellent quality. Massage in the spa was superb and very relaxing. I loved the interior of the hotel. Perfect spot!

WiFi did not work well in the room

Unfortunately we had a few ants in our bed, but bearing in mind the location it must be hard to keep them out, dinner was a bit pricey, so we went elsewhere, car park was secure but very sandy

The problem with septic tanks

Location, location, location!!! Great hotel on a perfect beach adjacent to the Greek and Roman ruins. The restaurant has improved a lot (it had problems in the sumner). Very comfortable rooms.

Room service would have been nice. The Spa rooms are well designed but do not have the direct sea views as in the main hotel.

We absolutely loved the location, the opportunity to sit and drink coffee by the sea. It’s absolutely calming during Autumn time. The hotel is very green and stylish. The smells around the place are very nice and tasty. The room (we had suit with the terrace) was amazing too. The restaurant was delicious, which is very convenient, because you don’t have to search for another place to dine.

The only strange and very unpleasant thing was the attitude of the host named Mark on dinner. The restaurant was almost empty (one table busy) when we came, we had a reservation and asked for the table close to the window so we would have a sea view. But we were told that the tables are booked. I didn’t understand what does it mean. Because we had a reservation and the tables were empty. So the host said the tables are booked by the order considering when they were booked. But the unpleasant thing was that when we had dinner and were leaving, not every table with the sea view was busy, and plus, a couple that said they didn’t have a reservation were seated at the table we asked for. So we felt deceived and tricked. And since it was a special evening for us it was VERY unpleasant. And spoiled a very pleasant stay at the hotel.And it’s a pity when the hotel is amazing, stuff at the reception was very welcoming, the breakfast was nice, but the attitude of one person spoiled you mood and the impression :(

Brilliant location on beach. Excellent bed. Nice reception staff. Clean room.

Supercilious restaurant staff. Inability to cook poached eggs or serve hot food for breakfast (it was always served cold). Poor quality coffee at breakfast. Rooms a bit tired.

This was our third stay at this lovely hotel. I always book a sea-view room with balcony, and we enjoyed sitting there, watching the sea and the pedestrians and cyclists passing by. Having stayed at this hotel before, we knew what to expect, and absolutely loved our restaurant meals and the copious and delicious breakfast. We enjoy the location and the friendly staff very much and would return again for a 4th stay.

We were disappointed not to be seated in the restaurant on our second night, but rather in the breakfast room, which lacks the feeling of dining in a restaurant. I don't know whether the other patrons, arriving at the same time as we, had a reservation (which we had made in the afternoon) but they were led like us, without explanation, away from the restaurant, despite its empty tables, to the breakfast room. To create a better ambience, I asked our lovely server if he would dim the lights (which he did). He was a wonderful server in every respect. Not being able to eat dinner in the more atmospheric restaurant was the only disappointment of our stay.
