L' Escala Resort

Well appointed and spacious.

Poor sound-proofing between upper units and bottom level.Couch in the unit is very worn and could use replacement.Pools are not heated and in early May are hypothermic!

The gardens and pool area were lovely and well looked after, the outside space of the 2nd floor apartment was a lovely size, we were able to keep our bikes in the small passage . The apartment was a good size.

Not enough worktop to prepare food , and the whole apartment could do with a bit of TLC or updating.

The cleaning was good and the staff was nice.

FIrst of all the images on Booking didn't really match the appartment. The cleaning was good but the furnitures and the bathroom would really need a touch up. We only stayed for two nights, but I wouldn't stay for longer. The pool was cleaned only at around 12, this should be done earlier since some guest might want to use the pool earlier. The terrace part of the pool was under semi construction. This should have been done before since the months previous to May I assume the guests didn't use the pool. The check in machine didn't except my passport for some reason. Luckily it was solved fast by ringing the on call number on the reception door.

Not central -We needed a car to travel to the town.The air conditioning was very loud

It was our first apartment stay in Spain and we really appreciated having a hob and a microwave to self cater. The space was comfortable. Only an 8 mins walk to the bus stop, easy bus to Figueres for the Theatre of Dali Museum. 3.5 Kms walk to Empuries Greek ruins.

The accommodation is spacious. Clean and reception helpful. We will visit again

We didn't know that the only place you could pick up coffee capsules was at the reception. We wasted money buying ones that don't match.They could leave notice in the room to let people know.Also it is the only place I have been to with no welcome coffee capsule. Even one capsule as a welcome would have been great as we arrived after reception was closed.

Location

The room was cold and humid. The heater didn’t work properly and the WiFi connection is worse than poor. The facilities have no maintenance and look old and abandoned.

The value of the property

The beds were very hard. The sheets and blankets were very thin. And the bathroom was falling apart.

The reception staff were very helpful and friendly,as were all the other staff on the resort. The apartment was clean and comfortable and had a large terrace outside overlooking the the beautify kept gardens and pools. The resort had easy access to supermarkets, restaurants and the beaches. Parking was never a problem. It is a very good place to stay easy to get to other beautiful places by car or easy to walk down to the beach bars and restaurants.

Really there is nothing to dislike about the property. If the apartment lacked anything, in our case there was no kettle just a coffee machine. I prefer tea, but reception provided a kettle immediately I asked for one.

Swimming pool, separated bedrooms, air conditioning, kitchenware, location, pillows, towels

The air conditioners were placed opposite the sleeping areas or the sofa, all the furniture without exception is very old, the washing machine is extremely old, and the sink and bathtub are leaking and covered in mold.

Apartment was very clean. Everything you needed was there.

It's a bit of a walk to the beach and town centre. 7 pools but they are very small

The apartment is spacious and has all necessary for cooking meals. The swimming pool is nice and very close.

The apartment has not been cleaned. When we arrived there was dust everywhere on the floor. The sofa was stained. We asked the staff to clean it. They said ok. However the apartment was still super dirty.In general the maintenance of the place was very bad. The door on the balcony was stuck and so we could never open it. One annoying thing: one conditioner did not work. The temperature of the living room soared to 35 degrees. We told the staff. They said we were not able to use it.We tried again but the conditioner was totally dead. The staff said the maintenance guy could not come, we had to wait to next morning. We waited but next morning the maintenance guy did not appear. Only when we said we wanted to change the flat the maintenance guy appeared and fixed it.Finally: the wi-fi was totally useless because the signal was so poor everywhere (we tried different locations). We told the staff. They said it's not the best wi-fi in the world. My wife needed for an important work call: we eventually bought an internet data bundle.So overall the experience was quite bad, especially when considering the price (100 euro per night). The staff was little helpful. They seemed very lazy.

The flat was comfortable and the right size. The air conditioner in the room was a plus. Kitchen appliances were functional. Really enjoyed the balcony with bathing chairs.

Outlook, layout, worn out decking, lack of view, street parking, unfrosted window in bathroom, dark and dreary rooms, nothing homely-no pictures etc.

Nice structure with enough space for the family.

The apartment is a bit dark because it's on ground floor with only light coming from the front.

Nice location and the fact to have a entire studio.

The fact that the door of the reception was directly giving on our room.

The perfect place for a relaxed stay, away from the busy boulevard but at walking distance, about ten minutes through a nice neighbourhood.A small pool in front of each apartment block in a lovely garden.The supermarket is just across the road, super comfortable.
