Hotel Vela

Very nice staff, affordable, very clean and great location at the beach with many shops and restaurants all in walking distance.

The pillows aren’t great and the walls a little thin .

We arrived to find that our “garden view” was actually just a brick wall, so we upgraded to two sea view rooms. One has not her been renovated and looks nothing like the photos. The other had a renovated bathroom but a dated headboard. Beautiful glass shower in the renovated unit and a proper vanity

The doors are not secure. No deadbolts. Old safes that use skeleton Keys that are extra $$. Room doors are old, not solid , with very simple knobs that are sorely lacking in security and don’t latch well. We returned to our room once to find the door ajar. Thankfully it appears just not have latched but nothing in the room appeared to have been touched. Non-renovated bathroom was a deep step in tub with some mildew but that’s sort of expected near the sea in an older unit.

Location is pretty good and the check-in process was efficient. And the water pressure was also very good!

Bit tired. Everything was bit tired. And the pillow was terrible! In the end I didn't use the pillow, surprisingly tall.

Some of the staff were lovely, others could learn to smile at their customers, it goes a long way.

hotel was central and close to the shops breakfast was copious and not expensive

the room was clean but very basic. no toilet roll holder, no basic toiletries, room looked out over a dull courtyard

Location, very comfortable beds, very good shower, very good buffet breakfast with a seaview.

The only thing I can think of was that there was only one pillow.

The bed matress should be a new one, because this one is old and has like a hole inside in the middle probably from the usage within years.

The staff were great. All friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good too for the price we paid.The hotel location is great.

The bedroom and bathroom are very tired looking and need updating. The bathroom definitely needs an update. A plastic shower curtain is not acceptable. The shower fitment was not placed centrally on the wall. A serious update required.

Excellent place, good room, good breakfast for low price

I was living in another hotel in the same place. Good hotel, but no seaview. I called to Vela and asked. Can I have standard room with sea view. Answer was - yes, but only for one night from Friday to Saturday. I made reservation through Booking, checked out from another hotel and came to Vela. Here I heard, that sea view is not available. After my angry reaction they one, but for additional payment.

Breakfast were very tasty and fresh. It looks they put great effort into it. This was the best thing. Rooms were okey - clean, but not very new. Hotel was quiet and good to relax

We got the view to inside yard, which is not perfect in comparison to beach view. Parking is compromised, though we finally found free parking place near the castle. However, the administrator did not mention this option.

A reasonably priced room with a sea view close to shops, restaurants, bars etc.

The fuse box buzzed all night, soundproofing from adjacent rooms was poor. The bathroom smelled of drains. The pillow was very small and thin. Breakfast was ok but not generous.

Room with only small window to very small and dark inner space with engine noise. Feels like prison. Very small bed. No ventilation and no AC.

Great location right on the beach at Roses. Sea view from the balcony was great.

Some tea / coffee making / fridge in room would have been good. Shower are very difficult to manouvre in and use.

My room was upgraded in high season to a beach view. The room was cleaan and comfortable albeit sparsely furnished. The position of the hotel is excellent and the staff very friendly. Breakfast was also very good.

Only thing is parking - the nearest free car park is a good walk away and in high season it can be difficult to find a space.
